    This is so wrong! The rule of thumb TPV= 42/Ac (Ac = core cross section) is BS. The magnetic equation is B = (Vp x E+8)/ 4.44 X Np X Ac X f where B is the maximum usable core flux density in gauss, Vp is the primary high line voltage, Ac is the core cross section area cm sq, and f is the power line frequency. The figure 4.44 is a factor for sine wave excitation. B can range from 12,000 gauss for thick laminations (24 ga) to 17,500 gauss for thin (29ga) laminations. Tape wound toroids are made of even higher quality silicon steel with B max up to 17,800 gauss. Compare calculated numbers using this formula to the rule of thumb. I designed power transformers for 15yrs!

      Problems for getting sound
      Using less core
      Wire gauge problem
      Input turns are less.

      Making your own transformer is a great way to save money and have the satisfaction of knowing you made it yourself. Transformers are used to convert Alternating Current (AC) into Direct Current (DC), so you can use them in projects that require DC power. Here's how to make your own transformer at home:
      First, you'll need some supplies. You'll need a ferrite core, two pieces of wire, some electrical tape, and a power supply. The power supply can be anything from a battery to an AC adapter. Next, cut the two pieces of wire to the same length and strip about 1/2" of insulation from each end. Wind one wire around the ferrite core tightly, making sure it's not too tight or too loose. Tape it in place and do the same with the other wire.

      Because of the gap between plates. If ur transformer create humming sound means it creating ed current loss of energy . It will heat more and waste of energy.

    Great Video, but you didn't showed us information about the middle wire and you turned 79 turns, for which you have 12 volts, if the middle wire is at 40th turn, then you should get 6 volts from the middle wire and 12 volts at the exterior ones, but you are getting 12volts at the middle and about 24 volts at the exterior. Please explain ?

      @Electricalvideos324 Рік тому

      This transformer is 24-24 volt
      But the middle wire is 0
      So it is 12-0-12 volts transformer

    There are a few things to consider when designing or calculating a transformer. The most important factor is the voltage and current ratings of the transformer. The size of the core and wire also need to be taken into account.
    The basic formula for calculating a transformer is:
    N = (Vp x Ir) / (Vs x Is)
    Where N is the number of turns, Vp is the primary voltage, Ir is the current in amps, Vs is the secondary voltage, and Is is the current in amps.
    Another thing to consider when designing a transformer is the flux density. The maximum flux density should not exceed 2 Tesla.

      English DUDE,,English... I want 120 input,, lets say 2 or 3 amps, could be 5(who knows). I need 30-0-30 out, and 12v, and maybe a 9v. I want to power a amplifier that uses 30 volts rail power supply, it's a 60 watt D class. but i also want to power a 12V DC EQ, and a tube pre amp, and a 9 V DC pre amp.

    A transformer is a device that transfers electrical energy from one circuit to another through inductively coupled conductors-the transformer's coils. Transformers are used to increase or decrease the voltage of an alternating current (AC) supply. Special transformers called DC to DC converters are used to boost the voltage of a battery or solar panel, making it possible to run devices that require higher voltages, such as 12-volt appliances in a 24-volt system or vice versa.
    There are many different types of DC to DC converters, but most follow the same basic principle: two coils with a common magnetic core that rotate relative to each other. The amount of voltage increase (or decrease) depends on the number of turns in each coil and the relative positions of the cores.
