Poor Demo '' to my own opinion' as the Terios took a different trail so it is NOT Apple-to-Apple '' a better Deo could be if both cars will try same trail exactly and than the MUD-Tires of the Jemini would show a difference because of the tires - mainly (I love Terios but'' We are still not have the Gemini abilities)
the automatic transmission of terios makes it up for the low gear mode of suzuki. I had suzuki for 11 years, i have terios now. For the 95% of the life of the cars, terios is much better. More spacious, more refined, able to travel easily long distances, more comfortable. But for 5% real hard of road i would take the jimny all the way.
The test was not very fair, first Jimmy's tires if they are Off road, while those of Terios are M + S of the street, second despite being permanent 4x4, in the video it does not seem to have the central differential blocked because in the minute 4:12 it is clearly seen how the wheel loses grip, it may be due to the lack of locking in the rear differential (I don't know if the second generation has such a lock, I have the first generation and if it does, besides having a better height and greater protection) but both reached the top, so both are good vehicles, only one is more off road (jimmy) and another more focused on the city (terios).
Hey. I'm the owner of this terios. Central diff are locked , but on 4.12 u can see that 2 wheels in air, rear right and front left, so I can't move. There is no rear dif.lock on second generation. U can find a limited edition with rear lsd diff, but mine without.
Totally agree.... street tires and the differential wasn't locked on the Terios. Having owned and driven both... I'll take the Terios. More room and good on and off road performance. Love the look of the Jimny (and the recent restyle) but for a daily driver and weekend off roader... the Terious is a better choice! BTW... Locking Diff is available on 2nd Gen.... depends on model and where it's exported.

I will say this... the car rental companies in Costa Rica have been using them for years... and the roads are rough... and people are usually tough on rental cars! So I'd say based on that.... they hold up and are easy to service! If the rental companies have used them for years it's always a good sign! Pros.... roomy (for it's size) Good cargo space with seats folded. Simple interior without all the bells and whistles that normally breakdown. Good visibility. High seating Good ground clearance. Good gas mileage. Easy to work on. Cons: A bit under powered if you're a speed demon on the highway. (I have a manual transmission... not sure about the automatic). Overall a nice small truck that has served me well and goes through everything without any issues. Good luck!
there is no comparison, suzuki is better than terios, cause it has low. For suzuki, this is very easy. With terios, maybe you ll have damages, cause it needs to go fast
"cause it has low"..o what? That didn't matter. Actually it is irrelevant as long as you have an acceptable gear ratio. HOW you will create this is irrelevant. You CAN use a 4lo...but you can also use 1 or 2 "reduced" gears with a better ratio (like many do because it's easier and cheaper to build). The effect is the same. At least as long as you drive fowards. Actually a 4 low has mostly only 1 or 2 gears below the 1st high transfered gear because the 3rd gear in 4 low has commonly the same ration than the 1st in 4 high. And every Transporter or truck has at least ONE reduced gear. So the difference is minimal. Moreover that does NOT mean that you will NEED it to overcome an obstacle. But with it you don't have to kill your clutch. So it let a car live longer. But it doesn't really help you with the obstacle. But WITH it you can take some obstacles more befor your car smells like hell

Terios stock will not outperform the Jimny. Jimny has low range and lockers all round. The driver of the Terios did a great job here. Was very impressive to see.
The Jimny has NO SINGLE fucking locker in stock!!! And it doesn't need it. Adding the front axle has exactly the same effect than a locked center differential. As long has you wheels have traction you don't need a locker. And the jimny has a great axle articulation. But yeah, the jimny has also wings all around and will fly high above

Also traffic was a breeze never had to stop for any robots with the wings activated. Definitely buying Jimny with a custom Unicorn numberplate.

Beginner 4x4 question. How is "diff lock" function used on terios and what's the purpose? Or is that the fancy word for using the 4x4 feature ? How do you activate/ or disengage this feature? Does the car has to be in neutral ?
Jimny dosent have 4 wD lock. It has stiff 4x4 withou center differential and Terios is AWD...full time 4WD with central differential locker.. Jimny has reduction drive and Terios has not.
@@zepter00 Activated all wheel drive IS a LOCKED connection between the axles! That's why these cars do NOT have a center differential locker because it IS already locked. Only permanent all wheel drives need a center differential and a pseudo locker. Why pseudo? Because it can not do more than a just activated 4wd. Maybe the Terios has not low transfer case... i don't know. But what about the gear ratios? Are they "normal" or maybe "shortened" gears?

Terios doesen’t have ultra short 1st gear and burn clutch in terrain. Check „ Dacia Duster Terenwizja” and you will see. Upload with lady.

Можно чуть смелее на нем ездить просто) и понижайка у него есть, хотя в Терике первая передача очень короткая, почти как понижайка. Ездил на том и на другом, остановился на Джимнике в итоге. Все же он настоящий оффроудер, тогда как Терик - SUV с повышенными кросскантрийными возможностями.
Лайк) но Джим с блоком и лучшей резиной едет на пониженной, какое это сравнение)) Не считая понижайки машины равные, только думаю первый терик получше поедет, чем второй..

From Taiwan, I have a Terios 4WD. it is amazing that Terios could do such a good job. This rock trail is hardly to be seen in Taiwan.

There is no diff.lock on this car. This why u can't move if 2 diagonal wheel in air.
wrong answer'' Both are 4x4 vut there is a difference with the tires and Terios does not have a LOW gear

Nah the best daihatsu is the fourtrak , one of the best 4x4s ever made.
