I think what makes him so ridiculously good is in part how direct he is. He is always thinking of the killer pass, and has the ability to pull it off consistently.
It would be nice to do a video of De Bruyne's defending skills. How he is involved in counter-pressing and getting back the ball as soon as possible, how sometimes he performed big runs to cover his teammates etc ...
