Tua Tagovailoa set new Alabama records for passing touchdowns in a game (6), total touchdowns in a game (7), and career touchdowns (85). DeVonta Smith set new Alabama records for receiving yards in a game (274) and touchdown catches in a game (5).
Wow, those receivers are: Juedy, Waddle, Smith, Metchie and Ruggs, all but Ruggs are playing pro ball and doing well. QBs. Tua, Mac Jones, I think Jalen had already transferred to OK
I think with the current QB and receiving corps, they could run almost whatever they want and have success. My only concern is that it gets too predictable and some DB jumps on one.
@@BamaRewind Yeah, it's a toss up (no pun intended) between predictable short slants across the middle or just heaving it downfield like his "debut" season, but that had/has a chance to bite in the ass, those 50/50 balls.
I'm a boxer and I thing I learned from pros I spar is that if something is working dont stop till they stop it. In this case I dont think anyone can stop those slants cause of how talented those WR groups are. And bama is trying to see if the defense play deep they go short, if they play up they go deep so its keeps the defense guessing.
It’s really their rpo game. If defenses keep giving them the slant they will throw it. If not they will run it. It’s Tua’s read he almost always reads it right

Congratz to DeVonta! Well deserved. Roll Tide!
Bama Rewind, what do you think of Bama's switch to the slant pass so heavily?
