Thanks! Again and hoping to get up farther north on the Lake. Lanier gets so much pressure down south. Went out MONDAY and there were multiple boats in every cove we went to. Game seem to get out there early enough to beat the crowd. Looks like you early start really pays off. Thanks again for all the info and sharing with us. Have a great 2025.
Thank you! Very much appreciated! It is much less crowded up here on the north end. I always go early - the best bite is always the first hour of sunlight!
I'll have to check them out. I usually get my flukes from walley world, but I'm always looking for somewhere new to get a better deal. Great video Dana, I'm glad y'all could knock some nice ones out in all this cold weather!!
That “ONE TWO PUNCH”, is so effective, the area you all were fishing looked like there were even more BIG ones there, I also use LandBigFish, good job 🎣
It depends on what size the bait I'm seeing is. Depth and wind speed factor in as well. I pour the heads all the way up to 1/2 oz, but I usually start with a 1/8. I use a lot of different fluke sizes too. The Super Fluke junior is a good starting point.
I see you catch a lot of fish on the gig and fluke. I have thrown that thing many, many times to here on Fontana in North Carolina and have yet to catch a single fish. I work it the same as you do, but with no luck. Fontana is clear and very deep. We call it the Lanier rig up here, thanks to me. Lol Maybe one day I will catch one on it. I also dye it the same. I like the bait, but our spots don't seem to.
I am 100 percent certain it will work there too. There is something that will trigger strikes, maybe switch up to a different size fluke. You have to experiment to find out what they want.
I must say, that yawn at around the 9 minute mark was felt all the way over in NW AL. Having worked for 3M on the hoot owl shift so I could fish for nearly 20 years hit home. Nice trip per usual. Thanks....
I usually try to edit out the yawns, but figured I would leave that one in. You never really get enough sleep working those late night shifts, but I get to fish a lot so it's worth it. Thanks for watching! I will be fishing at Guntersville soon. I have always done well at all of the Alabama lakes I have fished. You all have some great water in Alabama.
We went out today after those storms last night only got one bite the fish where shut down i guess because of the front idk seen plenty of bait fish thanks for the video
I don’t know if you’ll want to answer but with the fluke with a jig head are you actually jigging it or working it like a regular fluke just in deeper water

Nice fish! Thanks for the explanations.
No problem 👍

Saw you out there today. Caught a few jigging the bucktail. I haven't quite got it down yet. Fun learning a new technique. Appreciate the videos!
Thanks for watching!
Another cold day but you both caught some good ones! A good day!
Thanks!
Excellent
Thanks!

Thanks Chauncey! That was a slow day, we really had to work for them.
@ They we’re ALL good ones too , I guess the work paid off 🎣
Another great video. Really appreciate you sharing your techniques. What size jig head and fluke do u use?

Great video. Thanks for sharing a new place to shop
I am always looking for places to get lures. Thanks again, and have a great week.

A lot of good information in this video! Caught some good sized fish
Thanks!

@FCPFishing , no offense taken by the yawn. Very relatable, at least to this old fisherman. Keep on keeping on ....

I struggled today too, but I caught some good ones. The front had them pretty slow.
I’m gonna watch this later, but this should be good!
Hello, I saw you out yesterday afternoon. Did you catch any?
Yes I did, but they were really slow. Mainly Stripers.

I am jigging it. If you watch the video's you will see how I work it.
