Thank you for this clear and instructive 'How to'. After an offside headlight fail this week, looked in Vauxhall driver manual which was next to useless. Watching your instruction made it straight forward and the job took me less than an hour. Different layout on my 2012 1.7litre DTi, with air inlet/outlet and sensor at front, filter box bracket at rear, not side, but same principle and actions. Straight forward after watching your instruction. Thanx again.
Thanks for the video. I was a bit reluctant to remove the air box, but because you explained how to align the bulb (and get the wires out the way), I was able to do it via the access panel in the wheel arch.
Thanks Dibley for the video. I have been following the Owners Manual guidance to go in through the wheel arch but struggled for with it for the last hour. What an abolutely riddiculous design by Vauxhall. Whoever designed this and signed off it needs shooting!
Thanks, just about to do this job on the offside, glad I don't have to remove anything as such. Typical with most cars though, you need tiny hands! Why car manufacturers do this I'll never know
Thanks for showing how to do this. It has to be said, what a terrible design that you have to go through all this just to change a bulb. Thanks Vauxhall, yet another reason why I'll never buy another of your cars again.
Peugeot have now cancelled the zafira, so vauxhall will not make any more zafiras. I have a zafira b but pissed off that it is this time consuming to change that bulb
That poxy T30 torx retension screw at the back of air.box tip ....don't bother re-seating as its completely inaccessible anyway .The correlated air duct pipe separates but when refitted ensures the box once pushed down into position isn't going anywhere. Next bulb change service window should decrease somewhat .....
Hi dibley1973, Thanks for the video. It helped me to change my right front headlamp in 30 minutes. Wasn’t sure what I could remove to get to it. But the video made it clear. Soon I will replace my tail light cover on the right side cause of a crack. Can you also make a useful clip about changing that? (know there are some clips on UA-cam on that, curious about your version). Thanks again!
I am glad it helped you change your head lamp. I'm not sure if I will get a chance to make a video about the rear light any time soon, by if I do I'll let you know.
Having just done this, I'd say: go in through the wheel arch on the left hand side (and consider removing the wheel), but via the airbox on the right. Use a screwdriver to prise the old bulbs out of the holders rather than trying to pull them out. The bulb wires on both sides align directly to the right of the bulb holder when in place. The bulbs only need rotated about 15-20 degrees to lock in place. Have arms the length and thickness of a supermodel. Plan on an hour start to finish, with copious swearing and praying to your deity of choice to please, please, just let the Goddamn thing line up properly this time.
Piss poor design . nobody is going to have the tools /smarts to be able to change the offside bulb mid journey making this a health and safety potentially inherently dangerous design.

Well I'm glad even a small part of the video was useful to you! 👍
Thanks for this video it was really clear and easy to follow
Thank you.

Go in through the wheel arch. There is a flap that pops out. Saves the skin on your knuckles too!
Thanks. Just moving the wire and block to get extra hand room made all the difference!!
Why take air box out when you can use the hatch in the wheel arch?
Good call.
Hi why take out the air box etc go in under the wheel arch and pull open the flap behind the light and take off rubber cover then replace bulb

how you get the lamp out?
Easier to use flap in wheel arch, saves taking air box and pipes etc apart
Wow. I did not know about the flap. Some one should do a video of that technique, let me know and I'll link it in the description.

Paul Keenan totally agree took 1 hour for me to do this yesterday on a dry drive.
There is a removable cover in wheel arch easy job

@@stephenglasgow762 - Thanks for sharing! I'll be doing it that way next time!
@@dibley1973 done mine a few weeks ago, took me about 10 mins through wheel arch flap..job done..
I thought it would be a good idea to change them with led lights... ended up taking off the bumper and the headlight itself... what a bad design
Needs to Add BULBS to description.... thumbs down from me, as I was seeking how to actually remove headlights as described
Good call, I have edited the title to include the word bulbs
@@dibley1973 thumbs up 👍
