    Most of the people who wear those pants with knee pad don’t blouse them when wearing boots. Makes me think are those pants designed differently so you don’t have to blouse them to your boot or it’s because they just don’t want to blouse them?

    Not a railroad stitch, it's a serger stitch. It's a way of finishing edges so they do not fray.

    I think the ac look the best but the g3 is probably the most reliable pant

    Been planning to buy some ACs - Where do you recommend doing reinforcement stitchings?

    • @Xero852
      @Xero852  6 років тому +4

      Nowhere, only stitching that has needed to be done on any of my Crye pants has been to fix tears, and I've not had tears along any seams yet.

    Will air flex knee pads fit in gen 2 ac’s ?

    • @Xero852
      @Xero852  5 років тому

      Yup! Airflex and AC pads are cross compatible. AC pads are SLIGHTLY bulkier and larger, but they'll fit tightly in G3 pants as well. Airflex pads will fit in AC/NC pants no problem.
      Haven't tried the G4 stuff yet. Waiting on Ranger Green availability.

    hey Xeropoint do u know where i can buy some Crye G3 Combat Pants and shirts in AOR 1 & 2?

    • @creggy7001
      @creggy7001 4 роки тому +1

      They only way to get them is to be a Navy SEAL. They issue crye aor1 and aor2 to seals only. Or you can get lucky and find some on ebay for like 1k.

      There is also a guy who make custom cyes from scratch . Maybe you can find something here facebook.com/groups/807151342686715/.

    • @Xero852
      @Xero852  4 роки тому

      The Facebook group linked by Creggy is probably your best bet. I haven't seen many Crye sets in AOR1 or AOR2 circulating on eBay recently. There's a lot of other Facebook groups dedicated to buy/sell of AOR pattern gear you can check.

    Is the Airflex a hard pad? Thinking about trying a pair out for hunting.

    • @Xero852
      @Xero852  5 років тому

      The standard Airflex is just foam. The Airflex Combat pads are a combination of foam and harder plastic/rubber compound.

    Where are the tags located within these 3 pants? Are they generally within one area or are they sporadic?

    • @Xero852
      @Xero852  6 років тому

      G3s are almost all the same, printed on the inside of one of the zippered access pockets. Essentially making contact with your butt cheek if you have the pants on.
      ACs and NCs have changed locations over the years. Some are under the front waist closure zipper (beside the buttons for NCs). But most are located on the inside of a pocket like the G3s. It's a different pocket through, if I'm remembering right it's one of the main open-top access pockets near your crotch.

      I have an AC combat shirt and some G3 combat shirts. Have G3 and LAC field pants as well, but not sure I have access to any AC fields... Will have to check.

      @@Xero852 Anything works man. Your videos are by far the best informative ones when it comes to this. I have my g3 air 1 and 2 sets (working on getting Drifires), but I have some interest in field pants (due to the kneepads falling out sometimes) since I think they may work better for longer "Reece" type situations. The field shirts are just curiosity for me as I really got no use for them but have seen some in eBay and I like to blow money on dumbsh!t lol so why not. Thanks a lot!

    • @Xero852
      @Xero852  7 років тому +2

      Glleboy Any Crye Precision stuff in a camo not listed on the website isn't usually available for civilian sale. You need to get it from people it was issued to. Lots of AOR stuff has been showing up on eBay and such recently, I think because they're mostly transitioning back to multicam for the most part.

    • @Tremulousnut
      @Tremulousnut 6 років тому +1

      There are loads of Crye stuff not on the open/civilian market (like custom orders for SWAT or foreign militaries). You pretty much have to buy stuff on the grey market (through trades or special channels).

    how important are the knee pad adjusters ?

    • @Xero852
      @Xero852  6 років тому +1

      Abhinav Aggarwal depends on the person and how their legs are proportioned. I have really long legs, so I don't adjust the height at all, I leave them as low as possible. I know guys my height that adjust them up a bit because they have shorter legs than me but more height in their torsos... It all depends on the individual person. For me, I don't need them. Some people love it though.

    • @abhinavaggarwal4062
      @abhinavaggarwal4062 6 років тому

      ok. do you know what fabric are the stretch panels made of ?

    • @Xero852
      @Xero852  6 років тому

      I do not work for Crye Precision, so no, I do not know exactly what materials they use. You would have to call them directly for that kind of specific information.

    • @Xero852
      @Xero852  5 років тому +1

      I've slid on almost all of mine dozens of times. It's not a really useful tactic though, so I generally avoid sliding.

    What's your opinion of the stretch fabric above the knees? I understand that its advantageous in allowing for better knee mobility, but I'm a little skeptical considering that it appears to be flimsier than the nyco ripstop fabric. I know it's a rather unlikely situation, but I would just be concerned about the stretch fabric ripping if it were to be snagged on a bush branch or something like that. It also looks to be less abrasion resistant than they nyco material; that could be an issue when going prone and rubbing the stretch fabric against the ground and stuff. Overall, just wanted to know how durable the fabric is, thanks in advance.

    • @Xero852
      @Xero852  6 років тому +2

      It's definitely less durable than the NYCO material. Most common point of failure on the Crye pants is the stretch from what I've seen. That said, it's not a flimsy material. You'd need to do some fairly abusive crawling in the prone position to get it to tear or rip. Even though it's less durable than the NYCO, the fact that it's stretchy slightly mitigates the fact that it's weaker. It's more likely to stretch than it is to tear.
      All that said, it's not really something I'd worry much about. I've seen various salty and super used Crye pants from various special forces unit guys come back in extremely beat up condition. Typically there might be some small holes in the stretch material, but usually the biggest holes and tears are still in places you'd expect. Seat of the pants, inseam, cargo pockets, and the NYCO material at the bottom of the kneepad pocket (gets ground into the ground whenever you take a knee just like normal pants).

      @subaschen8595 6 років тому +1

      XeroPoint Thanks for all that, really appreciate the quick reply (currently 2 AM here lol wtf am i doing) Anyways, overall would you consider the stretch fabric to be more benefitial than it is a setback?
      Btw I find it pretty neat that you've have personal accessibility to combat worn gear, and sf personnel of course.

    • @Xero852
      @Xero852  6 років тому +2

      I worked in a gun shop for a while, and I'm a gear enthusiast/hoarder so I've had the opportunity to talk with and trade/buy things from various military guys, including some SF.
      The stretch is definitely worth having. Like I said, it rarely actually gets ripped/destroyed. Much more common is the NYCO getting rips and holes in the big cargo pockets and ass.
      I've tried modified combat pants with Crye style kneepad pockets sewn on top of the knee area. Without the stretch, the kneepads just don't sit right when you take a knee.
