My last 3 cars have been an Audi A3 . My first Audi was a 3 door A3 19 tdi , I had this car for 10 years with no problems . I sold this on with 170.,000 on the clok . I then bought a16 tdi 3 door , I had that 3 year sold it with 50,000on the clock . I now have a 5 door sports back with leather interior . I like the size of the Audi 3 .
I drove this last week and was shocked at the interior quality compared to it’s predecessor... I witnessed a lot of scratchy sounding plastics feeling, also the console moves and rocks back and forth when prodded with hands. I was very disappointed by this ☹️ . However, the A3 Sportback is a worthy enough successor to move the brand forward in the right direction.
I be buying the new A3 Sportback 35tfsi automatic . The 24 plate in the UK in March 2024. Currently have an Audi A1 35tfsi Automatic Vorsprung 2020 edition .
Hi Thomas. Great review and nice evolution of the A3. Other testers have reported build quality is not up to the previous cars standard. The slim dash panel, above the glove box area, can flex easily and the gear lever surround can be moved side to side. I guess that's progress.
Painted door trims visible inside the car like the Mercedes A class - not a good look for a premium product. The previous A3 and the current BMW 1 Series has this area trimmed.
So the iconic look of the interior is replaced with a generic (but nice) one. Not sure how I feel about that, always loved the interior of the A3, TT etc because of how clean it looked, never liked the pop up screen though
Great review Thomas! I have a request for all of your reviews... Could you let us know your driving locations? Some places look fantastic and would love to have a opportunity to drive there. Is it possible to mention in the video or even in the description? Keep up the good work.
I have a black edition Audi S3 (2017) saloon which I love. I've been looking forward to seeing the new "3" in the flesh so thanks for posting this review. I really like the new lines but I *really* don't like those silver plastic cut-outs on either side of the front grille below the headlights. Horrible! Perhaps they can be made to 'disappear' on the new black edition (if there is one). In other images, I've seen the car without these cut-outs or with just one outer side piece which is a big improvement. They just cheapen the look of the car IMO. My only other reservation is the quality of the interior, as others have said. Those protruding air vents aren't pleasing to the eye either.
Does anyone know if the 2.0 petrol 190HP engine will ever be aviabile with this car? Other audi models have it but for now the new a3 has just the 1.0 and 1.5 petrol engine aviabile (I am not considering the diesels because in my city are basically banned for good)
I'm sorry Audi but that interior is definitely a step down from the previous generation. i own a 2019 A3 35TSFI and im shocked at how cheap this interior looks in comparison.
Let's hope that this upcoming recession gets the manufacturers be more reasonable with pricing. These b segment cars should be in the 20.000E price range even for the 'premium' brands and not 27k+
Looks great but this is way too small for me (190 cm, 105 kg) as I also like to drive on a more reclining back position. Leg space would be non-existent behind me. I would opt for Superb or A6 size. Still if your are smaller and are looking for a compact car with high quality this A3 might just be what you§re looking for.
What a boring "new" car... A few years ago an Audi a3 was a desirable, exciting car, now cars on a lower segment(for example 208) are much more appealing than this thing. Lol oh boy, they did drop the ball at Audi
Still this same boring Awd haldex...a cant uderstand the one of the bigest company in the world ,cant make proper Awd system in transverse engine mount.Japan manufacters make this in 1998r from lancer evo 5,6,7,8,9 its simple and give driver a lot of fan...even mercedes make a class great awd car like a45...
All Audi below A6 that's not an RS model is not worth buying, you are basically paying a premium price for a VW. If you absolutely need a premium compact car, get a Merc. At least you get a nicer interior tho the material is not that different
Though i dont see it as critical as you do (A3 is still more premium than golf for example), i agree that Mercedes and BMW do a better job in smaller cars (< A6). The a-class is still my favourite among compact cars by far and the 3-series is much better than A4. A6/A7/E-Tron are the only cars from Audi that i prefer to their competitors.

The A3 is a really nice car on my opinion...
I simply live it
I just love this car. I like the new gen infotainment (both touchscreen and tactile buttons). Also that Blue is just gorgeous. 😍
No logo on the engine cover! How proud.
I changed my 2014 A3 S Line in October for a Volvo XC40. I liked my Audi a lot and this looks a natural enhancement. The interior is the big change.

Great Video Review. The Best Car In Its Class and the Best looking Interior
First time I dislike the S Line for that front hood detail. Still prefer diesel.

thanks Andrew! Well not sure if these things really account for worse build quality. But indeed manufacturers are making things more efficient...

hey m8, quite often we do mention that and we also show it in the GPS. At least in the longer versions: ua-cam.com/video/KHPqu8IsMiE/v-deo.html
But this interior is a no for me compared to previous A3s
Nice review once again. What do you think of the base model with 1.0 tfsi engine?
I’m just curious how an S3 will look like

What is the difference to the other video of Autogefühl testing the A3 ?
check the length, short version here, long version over there like always
Why is the right hand front door a different shade of grey to the rest of the car?

more practical then benz A class. That thing is so small for 6 footers.
Hmm for me looks like a smaller Audi A4 Station ( kombi ) ? not like a Hatchback.
None of you auto reviewers are talking about if it has 360 cam or not. Does it?
When is the new a3 being released into the market?
I'm sorry Audi but that interior is definitely a step down from the previous generation. i own a 2019 A3 35TSFI and im shocked at how cheap this interior looks in comparison.
Have to disagree. This interior looks absolutely incredible for a hatchback. Way more luxurious than it's predecessor.
I own 2019 A3 30TDI and the interior of this one looks way better than ours. The build quality obviously changed
MisanthropiC Those missing interior trim pieces around the windows 🤦🏽♂️
@@erkamenescol231 so you think the vents look good? hmm'
@@erkamenescol231 plastics look cheaper too

Geox shoes?
negativ, check video description :)
So what’s in your opinion better choice for a compact family car ? Golf8 or A3?
Compare the golf here: ua-cam.com/video/vc8KbxKl8DY/v-deo.html
@@autogefuel Thanks!
What happened to the flat steering wheel?
Different trims. More details in long version linked in video description and pinned comment

Exterior looks quite nice. Still an Audi. But the interior is a joke. Looks like a toy car. Shame the last generation will be my last one
Hydraulic struts?? I believe these are gas springs 😅😅
yeah

Boy, that looked like one slow car.
I mean, this model is €55k with a few options already. The S and RS models are easily €75k-€100k+ so not really in the same price category.
All Audi below A6 that's not an RS model is not worth buying, you are basically paying a premium price for a VW.
If you absolutely need a premium compact car, get a Merc. At least you get a nicer interior tho the material is not that different
What about Audi q8 and q5
@@youssefbouzi988 These are above A6 level, but I would say Tourag is batter than Q5 by a lot
