Uncle Remus could leave because he wasn't a slave, thats the problem Disney doesn't make the distinction that this movie is based on the reconstruction era after the civil war. They weren't slaves the were payed workers.
Hey Simon, I found your cool ranking list of Christmas Carol adaptions (always been one of my fav. stories), and I wanted to mention to you that there is in fact a Barbie adaptation of Christmas Carol, as there was of Nutcracker. (And if you wondering, no, Tim Curry's not in that one. He DID appear in Barbie's Three Musketeers flick short after though). In my personal opinion, I think it's not bad, though they do take away some of the darker elements of the story for the sake of the intended audience, and there is more comedy in it. Idk, just though I'd let you know because I think it'd make a good Christmas review (though who knows, you may be questioning how I view things after I suggested Grinch Night XD).
Yeah, I mentioned that one briefly in my video but I haven’t actually seen it. It’s probably great for a review tho! I’m already scheduled out for this Christmas, but maybe next year!
The thing that makes it so offensive is the fact that it’s blatantly non-offensive, if that makes sense? All of the slave owners treat the slaves as equals and are extremely polite and nice to them which is a far cry from the reality of the situation. So it’s not offensive because of how racist the film is on the surface, it’s offensive because it’s sugarcoating slavery and making it look like it’s part of every perfect little household in America. Hope that helps clear it up! And yes. Wow. Extremely, extremely boring as well.

Have you ever thought about doing reviews of Don Bluth's movies? A good starting place would be with the movie All Dogs go to heaven.
I plan to eventually! I’ve been trying to go chronologically so it’s been taking me a long time
I really liked this movie when I saw it the first time as a Latino
