They are some intense characters I’ve never seen characters that have this much chemistry and yet be afraid to express emotions with one another the actors are really talented

Here's a take ~ Rio has said to Beth multiple times that it's lonely at the top. And to me, he was clearly referring to himself. i think towards the end of season 1 he started to see her as someone who could rise to the top, with him. Someone he could trust & be his partner ( in more ways than one). During S2, i think that shifted & he developed real feelings for her. He showed it to her in multiple ways ~ everything from the way he looks at her, to the way that he pushes her, to the ( what he thought) was the ultimate gift, Agent Turner. i also think that for him, that was the line that she needed to cross to be the Queen to his King. i think the guy has mad love for her, & Beth has burned him so many times ~ from getting him arrested, twice, to trying to kill him, twice. When he came to her after his final arrest, he says "You did have a choice, you just didn't choose me". Ouch! Someone like Rio doesn't let a person who's betrayed him so many times keep breathing, unless there's something really deep there. As for Beth, i think she's conflicted. i think she keeps betraying him in part because she's angry about the power that he has over her. And he clearly has an emotional, sexual, and...hold over her. One thing she says to Ruby is that she's never looked at Dean the way Stan looks at Ruby. But she does look at Rio that way. Ultimately, though, i think her motivations for betraying him are ~ revenge for his hold on her; power; & her children. She's not willing to sacrifice her kids ( by them losing a mother ) for Rio. And i think that's he's done a LOT of shit to her to keep her in his power ~ and to keep her close. After being subservient for 20 yrs to Dean, belittled & not valued, she wants to come into her own, & doesn't want to give her new found power to Rio. i also think there was a fundamental misunderstanding ~ as he says to brother/cousin " a bitch like that needs someone to pull that ponytail". Sure, she loved that. Until he threatened her children & kidnapped her sister. He literally threatened to kill her family, & is then shocked that she betrayed him? Come on, man! i could be wrong, but those are my thoughts on this.

Lou, I do too, I see them both either dying or getting arrested for all of the crimes that at least Rio did. I kinda hope that in the end they do get together like a Bonnie and Clyde thing but don't die. Your right tho, she would have to leave the only thing she ever knew. Her kids her marriage with Dean, being a real good mother I mean every thing but I don't think that would happen unless Dean dies or leaves her for good. I can't wait for season 4!

i watched that scene a couple times. If you watch Rio's expression, it shifts right after he says it. He goes from kinda smirking, to deadly serious. i just remember the way he looked after they had made the lovin at her house & she promptly dumped him & blocked his number. i think he was hella hurt. In a scene before that talk in the car, he tells her how he's tried to call her repeatedly & she tells him she blocked his #. He replies, with a smile "That's cold". i think he was really hurt by the way she treated him & that's why he said what he did. i see Rio as communicating his feelings in his eyes, not his words.
This is perfect, bc they both refuse to surrender to what they already have surrendered to, through their continued need to interact..they are physics, magnets in this dance, they say they don't want to do, but are powerless to stop or even want to stop, that's what makes these two soo irresistible, they challenge each other, challenge what they already lived thru and who they think they are and both one in same making excuses to not accept what they are in love no matter what, stuck with each other not just bc they need each other for business, but deep down they need each other to fully enjoy existing, with whatever life they choose, whether a gang member, mom, father, brousin, sister, or best friend Rio and Beth realize there is no escaping, truth is bc they don't want to...

Beth did the one thing Rio needed since he was a kid: she chose him and chose to protect him over Brother/Cousin. Even Rio speaks about how one rotten egg spoils the bunch. When we first meet him and Nick, the grandmother puts two eggs in the bowl and the rotten one floats. Symbolizing Nick being the rotten egg. When Phoebe and Dave go to Nick and tell him that they will send him or grandma away, Nick says, “Why can’t it be him?” Because Nick again is trying to make Rio take the fall for everyone. Dave responds, “He has something you don’t….” Then they cut to Beth to show what Rio has that Nick doesn’t. Beth chose Rio over Nick, despite Nick’s best efforts to steal her away from Rio (Rio commenting to Nick how he always does that). And at that point, It was a done deal for Rio and his love for her. Because it was the first time she truly had a choice, and she chose him. So, we then cut to them on the bench and Rio placing her hair back and telling her, “You got it, boss.” Because that move from Beth was the one thing he truly needed since he was a kid. And with Beth realizing she won’t want to leave crime, she finally will let bumbling fool cult boy Dean go. Rio will protect her and her kids far better than Dean ever could. I wanted the series to continue, but I’m OK with how they left it. It allows us to find a happy ending in it all. They will get Annie out of prison and all will be fine there. Beth wouldn’t ever allow her to stay, nor would Rio. Annie is family…
Thanks that you noticed that. In my opinion, there is much more potential out there to tell the story of these two, then we actually get. So much potential about the connection between them and the huge influence Rio has on her. She's like him and I think she could do better then run away from herself. And from the prospective of a storyteller - it's time to accept herself - otherwise the audience is on the run

Back when i was in my late teens there were a guy we went to the same primary school our paths parted and saw him again after a couple of years end up working together we develop some strong feelings but were too scared to act it out but damn he looked just like Rio those eyes voice and constant teasing make one feel so special he makes my heart beats so fast ut feels like it wants to disconnect with the reat of my body saw him last Christmas damn looking fine as wine 23 yrs later all i could say to myself is that killersmile and look will be the death if me😊
In the end she will end up pregnant for real and he won’t be able to kill her and she won’t be able to turn him in either! Dean will probably be the one to set Rio up and Beth will have to choose who side to be on! Ok maybe not! I just don’t want rio or Beth to die and be together lol

I hate to say, but I think it’s lust. I believe they are drawn to each other because of the high they get from the taste of something completely new from their normal lives. I think Rio has that hood attitude, that showing or saying too much makes you venerable and in his position he can’t afford to and I think Beth is fully aware it could never be anything more than just sex and or business, even if she wanted it to, it would mean she would have to give up everything. plus even though she’s been distracted by Rio I think she’ll always have love for Dean and visa versa. I believe it’s just one of those unfortunate relationships where maybe in a different life time they would of been happily together but not this one.. maybe they are false twin flames?
That’s really not the case. You could really see the chemistry between them. The writers who made the movie didn’t think through. I felt like the book was a just not pleasing with how the ending came.

I agree. They love power and money and are attracted to the game more than to each other. Writers didn’t listen to the fans. Good show still but couldn’t have been a cliff hanger had Rio had more scenes.
To everyone wanting a 5th season, think about it, something awful would probably have happened, with brother/cousin, one of them dying, or a betrayal so deep there was no coming back. This way, we got them sitting in the sunshine together, more open/free than they ever had been
Dean needs to be the one to tell Beth that it’s okay, that she can love Rio and be with him. Dean needs to fully let go and allow Beth to be truly happy. She won’t go unless that happens. Plus it’d be so much more meaningful if Dean talked with her. You can see the tension and the unhappiness Beth is under. Dean is trying to hold on to someone that doesn’t feel connected to him anymore. It comes a point in time where you have to let go. And that time is now.
I watched a interview somewhere that said they didn't really get on in real life..they were just doing their job..which is sad because they look great and the acting is 🔥
Her mistake is always including Dean, Rio is better with business, he actually tries her ideas, but Dean always gotta make it about just Dean with Beth being a silent partner, this dynamic never would've worked for Beth truly, Rio knew that
this gave me chilllls, damn i miss this show so much. hate that it ended and they couldn’t settle their differences off screen, the only silver lining is that when Beth got elected and he was obviously proud she was his boss that left a lot to the imagination.
The Henchman said it Beth had a hold on Rio, the brousin said it. Rio made her feel things she never felt with Dean that's why she was running scared but everytime he was in her head, if she got rid of Rio life would be normal, but she didn't truly want normal anymore, that life and that man excited her and if she fully accepted it what she really was she couldn't call herself a GOOD GIRL, so that's why she fought it. She said it to Ruby, she never felt what she felt for Stan for Dean..This show was about not judging a book by it's cover, the gangsters were good dads, thoughtful, neat, organized, merciful, the good ones were raping, cheating, becoming contract killers, becoming councilmen...loved this show for the complexities
It really sucks that they cancelled the series because he couldn't get along with her off screen well enough to take a pay cut so they could finish the story line... Dudes a good actor. He has us thinking he's love with her but could care less off screen.
Beth have been the ‘rotten egg’ rio talks ab the whole series but still refuse to cut her off bcs he dont have a heart to kill her, but he also wont admit to it bcs he dont wanna give her that power over him
Funny about this series is that Rio never hit her nor cursed at her even if she tried to kill him and put him to jail. I think the first time he went at Beth's and even taught her kids math, he already was attracted to her. Remember Rio didn't have a mom, he was raised by his big boss his grandma and Rio had witnessed Beth being a good mom to her kids, even wanting to have a paternity tests Bec he really wanted to have a stronger reason for him to keep her.
This was so powerful! I don’t know where this show is going but, if they end up being honest with each other and let all this get real, it’s gonna get insanely intense. After 3 and 1/2 seasons going in circles, I hope the writers make them, open up and say “fuck it, I want you, and yeah, I want you too. We’ll deal with the consequences later!” And then it all goes to shit maybe, or he dies or something... but at least this can finally reach it full intensity.
That episode We're Even...they finally was on the same page...he said If you need something Darling all you have to do is ask....through that Rio said my loyalty will always be with you and she stared back and knew it was, that's why she didn't turn in the Henchman for shooting her, that's why Dean left and she packed his clothes...it's not toxic when u meet someone who allow to be what you truly are and love and accept you anyway that's Rio and Beth

When Phoebe and Dave go to Nick and tell him that they will send him or grandma away, Nick says, “Why can’t it be him?” Because Nick again is trying to make Rio take the fall for everyone. Dave responds, “He has something you don’t….” Then they cut to Beth to show what Rio has that Nick doesn’t. Beth chose Rio over Nick, despite Nick’s best efforts to steal her away from Rio (Rio commenting to Nick how he always does that). And at that point, It was a done deal for Rio and his love for her. Because it was the first time she truly had a choice, and she chose him. So, we then cut to them on the bench and Rio placing her hair back and telling her, “You got it, boss.” Because that move from Beth was the one thing he truly needed since he was a kid. And with Beth realizing she won’t want to leave crime, she finally will let bumbling fool cult boy Dean go. Rio will protect her and her kids far better than Dean ever could. I wanted the series to continue, but I’m OK with how they left it. It allows us to find a happy ending in it all. They will get Annie out of prison and all will be fine there. Beth wouldn’t ever allow her to stay, nor would Rio. Annie is family…

I hate to say, but I think it’s lust. I believe they are drawn to each other because of the high they get from the taste of something completely new from their normal lives. I think Rio has that hood attitude, that showing or saying too much makes you venerable and in his position he can’t afford to and I think Beth is fully aware it could never be anything more than just sex and or business, even if she wanted it to, it would mean she would have to give up everything. plus even though she’s been distracted by Rio I think she’ll always have love for Dean and visa versa. I believe it’s just one of those unfortunate relationships where maybe in a different life time they would of been happily together but not this one.. maybe they are false twin flames?

That’s really not the case. You could really see the chemistry between them. The writers who made the movie didn’t think through. I felt like the book was a just not pleasing with how the ending came.
I can kinda of see this but still a man like Rio would’ve been killed her if it was just lust after she betrayed him.... there’s something else there that prevents him from doing to her what he would do to anyone else including those he’s sexually attracted to ... they have some kind of emotional tie to one another
I agree. They love power and money and are attracted to the game more than to each other. Writers didn’t listen to the fans. Good show still but couldn’t have been a cliff hanger had Rio had more scenes.

Dean needs to be the one to tell Beth that it’s okay, that she can love Rio and be with him. Dean needs to fully let go and allow Beth to be truly happy. She won’t go unless that happens. Plus it’d be so much more meaningful if Dean talked with her. You can see the tension and the unhappiness Beth is under. Dean is trying to hold on to someone that doesn’t feel connected to him anymore. It comes a point in time where you have to let go. And that time is now.
It’s was literal overkill when she sh0t him. that’s the only proof I need of him being head over heels for her or else she would’ve been dead

Rio made her feel things she never felt with Dean that's why she was running scared but everytime he was in her head, if she got rid of Rio life would be normal, but she didn't truly want normal anymore, that life and that man excited her and if she fully accepted it what she really was she couldn't call herself a GOOD GIRL, so that's why she fought it. She said it to Ruby, she never felt what she felt for Stan for Dean..This show was about not judging a book by it's cover, the gangsters were good dads, thoughtful, neat, organized, merciful, the good ones were raping, cheating, becoming contract killers, becoming councilmen...loved this show for the complexities

Funny about this series is that Rio never hit her nor cursed at her even if she tried to kill him and put him to jail. I think the first time he went at Beth's and even taught her kids math, he already was attracted to her. Remember Rio didn't have a mom, he was raised by his big boss his grandma and Rio had witnessed Beth being a good mom to her kids, even wanting to have a paternity tests Bec he really wanted to have a stronger reason for him to keep her.

This was so powerful! I don’t know where this show is going but, if they end up being honest with each other and let all this get real, it’s gonna get insanely intense. After 3 and 1/2 seasons going in circles, I hope the writers make them, open up and say “fuck it, I want you, and yeah, I want you too. We’ll deal with the consequences later!” And then it all goes to shit maybe, or he dies or something... but at least this can finally reach it full intensity.
