Yes they are one of the closest kpop groups actually. People are making a big deal about it when the members clearly tease each other a lot and are fine with it. All Dreamies don't just tease Haechan, they tease Jisung about his eyes, call Jeno "no-fun", make fun of Renjun's voice cracks, Renjun's height, Mark's forehead, even Chenle having a "tummy" and not abs too. It seems to be hard for foreigners to understand that talking about weight and skin color (within the same race since you know Korean and Japanese population for example are 99% same race so it's definitely not racism) is very common in East Asia and they're not considered any more serious than other form of teases. Actually between girl friends we talk A LOT about our weights and dieting. When I was born my grandma literally sighed saying i should have been "whiter" cause my skin is more yellow-olive colored, and complimented me when i got paler as i grew up, but she obviously had no ill-thoughts. It's connected to our tradition and historical beauty standards favoring pale skin (as in pale skin Asian, which ever country it is), because people of higher class back in the days didn't have to work under the sun or walk outside, they ride carriages and noble ladies don't even step out of the house, so they would be paler than the common folk, and that became what people sought after. I hope more i-fans understand that because of our mono-race and culture, we don't take into account other races when making jokes about our skin color at each other within our race, but we absolutely won't make jokes with people of other races because then it becomes a different issue. P.S. Many Chinese fans literally praise Chenle for being so "beautifully pale" like every time he appears on screen and comment on how dark-skinned Haechan is but is so charming and "wild" etc. You can go on Chinese bilibili to look. I'm not saying I agree with the constant focus on skin color, but just wanted to out how common it is in Asia to talk about skin colors because it's not related to race and not a taboo because didn't have that history that most of the West had.
