If you weren't raised on Mr. Rogers, you can't understand how absolutely outrageous this video is. Mr. Rogers was like an emotionally available, non-alcoholic, non-racist version of every American's dad.
And a quick rundown of Prof in dot-point form: - Prof is from Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - Prof is staunchly independent - Prof writes his own lyrics - Prof produces his own beats - Prof has a unique rapping style - Prof has a unique singing style - Prof puts out high quality, low-budget music videos that slap - Prof is anti-fake, anti-industry - Prof is a painter - Prof connects with fans directly, in ways which a label would censor to the chagrin of fans - Prof is a very funny dude - Prof was brought up in the public housing precinct of Minneapolis - Prof has lived through some really tough shit - Prof surrounds himself with close friends whom he trusts implicitly and feature in many of his live performances and video clips - Prof was signed to a label, but was dropped in a “blessing in disguise” situation - Prof has been grinding and plying his trade for 20+ years, but a viral UA-cam hit and subsequent Number 1 album (driven first and foremost by his devoted fans) have vindicated his resolve If this sounds a little like some geezer from Brighton, then yeah, I don’t think it’s a coincidence the two have a massive overlap of fan-base 😉
My two favorite artists. My two worlds collided! And I'm in heaven. Saw Prof July 18 in Des Moines, Iowa. Then I flew to the UK two days later to visit Brighton and then go attend SGP to see Ren. This American's dreams have been realized and I had THE best July ever.
This video is an homage (kinda) to Mr Rogers, a public television children's show a lot of kids in the US grew up watching. Mr Rogers would do the same thing each show, walk in the front door and take off his coat, put on a sweater, and take off his shoes to put on slippers or something like that. He was super wholesome, and the bit with the guys putting their feet in the tub was controversial when Mr Rogers did it (sharing a pool with a black man, washing their feet together in the same water). Of course, the video kind of goes off the rails and Prof's version of Mr. Rogers is up to some shady shit, but as long as the kids are having fun and learning what's the harm? =]
Check out his video for Horse, or maybe his collab with Redman called Pack a Lunch. Or if you just want straight bars, check out High Priced Shoes or Fire Lessons.
He is super sarcastic and a great actor. ❤❤❤he has a very serious side too. Louisiana, Flower boy, the live version, Tombstones. I love Ren and Prof, I live in Denmark and I’m a teacher, I love so much amazing music… UA-cam rabbit holes have sent me down multiple amazing works of art, music, dance, philosophy, seminars, podcasts, discussions, culture pages, I found out that here the world is small and connected. That is why the system hates this kind of connection, music and lyrics are some of the most high vibrational, and world changing tools. Our voices carry intention, and cast spells. We infect each other with love and that is a virus the greedy and vengeful psychopaths hate. We are the many, they are the few… 10% of the population live without empathy for other human beings. I feel like Prof is talking about how that lifestyle, based on previous trauma, leads you down dark paths, you see his character gradually falling more apart. And him stumbling away, and this in contrast to the words he is saying, he is showing not telling, a very useful literary devise, you have to read behind the lines. His dark humor and sarcasm is so perfectly executed and on point. ❤❤❤
Hell yeah, Prof is amazing! You can't go wrong with any of his videos. Many of them are this crazy/goofy, but he also has a more serious emotional side. Hes super fuckin talented.
I've been listening to Prof a few years. He actually lives 60 miles south of me in Mnpls, Minnesota. My favorite is my sweetheart Ren, but Prof, Chinchilla and Samson are my next in line. "Cutthroat", bar breaker and high priced shoes are my favs.
So happy that you two especially have found Prof . I will thoroughly enjoy the journey with you .❤ i think it might bring you guys some fresh eyes . RESPECTTAA ! from NYC ❤
You need to check out Bar Breaker, Light Work, High Priced Shoes, Horse, Andre the Giant, Pack a Lunch. Everything Prof does is different. Very creative dude.
Finally… A reactor who put two and two together and realised the kids were thrown sweets as a diversion so he could “line up” the hard stuff with the mailman. Kudos!! Yeah, this was the track that got me hooked on Prof. As an Aussie, I knew it was a Mr Rogers parody, but knew very little about the man, the myth, the legend. What I noticed however, was that for the rest of the day I was walking around singing “I got guns, hoes, money, dro…” You’re not gonna regret this rabbit hole gents - I’m strapped in and ready for it! Horse (Official Music Video) and Pack a Lunch with Redman (Official Music Video) were my next two, before I started getting into “serious Prof” which I’ve come to appreciate even more than goofy Prof.
I really hope you do go down the Prof rabbit hole. You won't get as many views as Ren (because Prof has half as many subs), but Prof is so good, and I am really hoping more people discover his genius. If you are doing it for views though, you probably won't go down the rabbit hole. Prof is soooo good. I found Prof about a month after I found Ren, and I love Prof just as much. They are both soooo criminally unknown. I love seeing Ren finally getting his flowers, but I hope Prof gets just as big! He's well on his way, but has a long way to go. Also, this video is a parody of a US show called Mr Rogers Neighborhood. Google it and see how well Prof did at recreating it. Now, next I would love Andre The Giant or Cutthroat or Creek Boy or Gasoline. Or any Prof song really. They are all good. Love you boys! Just returned home to the US after going to SGP to see Ren.
Great reaction, you had me laughing. 🤣🤣 Check out Prof’s “Andre the Giant” video. I think you’ll like it. I’m excited right along with you. Found Prof from the colab he did with Ren and have been binging on Prof for a couple weeks now. He’s hilarious and he also has some serious songs too, like “Heaven” and “Louisiana” I’ll be here for each Prof reaction!!
as far as introductions. i would have done "andre the giant" first, then this, then something along the lines of "louisiana". dudes got hella range, and a big discography though. Not like you gonna pick a bad song.
Pookie Baby is a Master! Im glad to usher you along this journey, if you want LOL Might I suggest "Moron" or maybe something along the lines of "Ghost" or "Light Work", or "High Priced Shoes", or "Horse"...?
Also, Mr Rogers was a Vietnam Vet with among the highest number of confirmed kills in battle. Prof is a big fan of Mr Rogers, I think, and this was an "ode" to him... So, having some context is important for this video. Even if this is a great video on its own. BTW, watching in Virginia, USA.
So first things first... Aye, whats up Fam!? Second... Do you know who Mr. Rogers is? Yall need to check out ht neighborhood to give you some reference LOL

This hook is a rif off a viral video of a grandma rapping about all the food she's cooking.

Subbed guys, I’m here for the prof rabbit hole.
There's a cool documentary about Mr. Rodgers if you want a back story, kind of off topic, but really good.
Mr. Rogers!!
Two tunes you absolutely need to react to..Pack A Lunch feat Redman and the absolutely outrageous video of ‘Bar Breaker’ 👌🏻
He's such a mad vibe! Love him!
You guys should react to the band Paramore- All I wanted was you LIVE Bonnaroo Festival

Thats not a police man, its Mr. McFeeny(?) the postman... LOL
