Felt this track when I first heard it back in 2010. stumbled across it again today and it reminded me of how excited it made me when I heard it for the first time......... Yep, nuthin changed, still feel it till this day... Dude speaks true story, word bond...
AND THAT'S THE POWER of any great song that is a CLASSIC it NEVER gets OLD and ALWAYS is RELEVANT & ALWAYS sounds as good EACH TIME as it did THE VERY 1st MOMENT you ENCOUNTERED such a GREAT WORK OF ART : IT'S TRANSCEND --ENTAL
I literally haven't put a radio on since I was 15, that was four years ago and I haven't looked back since. People say it's a shame that artists like this don't gain the popularity they deserve. Yes it is, but it's this following that they gain away from the limelight that makes them the artist's they are. Much respect and admiration for Blueprint, Grieves, Brother Ali, anyone on Rhyme sayers and anyone who puts their heart and soul into their music for us to listen to.
Every time I hear this song, it gives me shivers down my spine. I haven't felt that from a song in years. Passion this strong doesn't come around anymore. I never through the same Print that I heard perform at Paid Dues tour rapping about fat and skinny woman would spit something so pure. I've been a Rhymesayers fan for years--and it's because every artist on this label has songs with passion and connects with the roots of people's soul.
Just downloaded this on iTunes. I only legally purchase songs I feel are worth my money. This song is worth so much more than the £0.79 it cost me. Everybody BUY Rhymesayers music, they deserve it. SUPPORT INDEPENDENT MUSIC!
I remember when he came to my father's concert in Bellefontaine, OH and sang this song. He changed my perspective of life... and rhyme for that matter. I love this guy and everything he's done. I got an autograph and his first CD. He told me I mattered. Remember always, you don't have to switch it up, be true to yourself and the rest will come to you. ~Seth
all i could think about was how I cant wait to get home to listen to this song! I get home & imediatly put Radio INactive on & little do I know an hour & a half go's by, the hunny is texteing, im still on the same song. So I text her "I feel i get soo lost in music, yet I find myself everytime i listen!" Much respect to all who put there two cents in on this jewel, esp. Blueprint!
I saw Atmosphere, Grieves, and Blue Print in Spokane, WA with my brother. Best concert I have ever been to. These guys have pure talent and should be respected for what they do and write.
Gotta love Blueprint. If any of you see him live, PLEASE take the opportunity to meet him afterwards. You'll love him 20x more. He's one of the sweetest dudes ever.... Actually, all of the Rhymesayers dudes are. Blueprint, Slug, Abilities, Eyedea (never got to meet him though, but it's obvious he's pretty sweet), Grieves, Budo, Ant.... All those guys. Big up Rhymesayers, and never stop doing what you do! RIP, Mikey, we love you so much.
This song single-handedly prove why music is so important, and why underground scenes are so important (Not only hip hop genre, but all the indies/undergrounders). These guys work their ass off with the right intentions, and the quality is a mile higher than any of the mainstream stuff making radio basically unlistenable. A lot of credits and love sent to Rhymesayers. Holding down one damn important fort.
Amen man. i get so tired of all of the people who barely got into the movement and who still are ignorant to anything going on trying to say hip hop is dead. I sit in my basement office surrounded by my records, many new and from new artists, almost all hip hop or something that the company carrying them mislabeled as alternative rock, blues , etc. If you think hip hop is dead , it isn't for you, never was. Hip hop is just growing up and diversifying.
I just watched: The Adventures of Blueprint: Episode 1 - The story of "Radio-Inactive" and I have to say, after watching that it makes this song have so much more meaning.
Blueprint!!! I'm a proud member of the United States Air Force and I just want to say that I love your music, especially this song. I was let down by people who self proclaimed themselves as "Christians" growing up but they just ended up being "cookie cutter Christians". This is real music and I appreciate.. also I rep from Ohio as well.. you should hit me up sometime man.
damn, ive restarted this three times now and i still havnt played it all the way through. " the more you tell me to change the more i rebel " so sick cant believe i never heard this dude until today
Blueprint Gave us a jump when our car died at a mac lethal show in Columbus one time. I was 17 and I will never ever forget it. One of the coolest people IN EXISTENCE.
Remember people. He's sending out a message as well as sending it out to us beautifully. Stand up for your rights, don't forget your dreams. Meaning what you dreamt about as a kid... Not what TV or radio told you.
I remember being 22 and picking up a fresh print of Soul Position "8Million Stories" when it came out in 2003, same year that Brother Ali dropped Shadows on the Sun, those two records didn't leave my tables for months. I was obsessed with Rhymesayers back then. Shit I saw the entire Rhymesayers crew on tour along with MFDoom and a bunch of other people around that time live in Austin. Have to admit I haven't listened to them in a while but I try to stay on it. It's different now that I'm 36 I guess.
I do when I remember, I just don't have the time I did 15 years ago. Back then it was all about crate digging, spinning, going to shows, just immersing myself in the culture, it was the only thing I knew since age 14 when I got my first techs. Don't get me wrong, I peep the new a couple times a year but my priorities are just a little different these days. I will always be indebted to the Rhymesayers for the huge impact they had on my life. I have the deepest love for these cats and always will. I went to an Ali show when he was touring on "Us" and told him what that album did for me at that time in my life. I was getting sober from a 6 year addiction to heroin. I couldn't take the last Eyedea and Abilities CD out of my car for seriously almost a year, listened to it every day. I'm a little OCD. And when Eyedea died I wept brother. Because I know the pain that man was suffering from with Opioid addiction. Just because I don't jam their stuff everyday doesn't mean that even when I'm 80 they won't still hold a very special place in heart. I have nothing but absolute love for this crew and family and I always will. the only thing I can say is Thank You Rhymesayers, this is one head you affected and moved with your music who will never forget your passion and sacrifice to your craft. Love. Always.
People really prefer rap played on the radio over this? THIS is talent, THIS is real rapping about real life: "The rap game: A thousand clones, arguing about their clothes" "What's Print's life about? The same thing I rhyme about." "Telling me to change only makes me rebel more" "I made this in my basement when you wasn't even there, to express my feeling, not to be played on the air. So am I wrong or secure if I don't really care if this ever turns into something that anybody hears."
I remember discovering Rhymesayers when I discovered Eyedea. I had heard Atmosphere before, but I didn't listen to him much, but Eyedea really got me into hip hop. I've always loved it, but he solidified my passion. I'm so grateful because I was then able to listen to Blueprint all the other cats. Blueprint is frakking awesome!
Hell yea Print. That's what I'm talking about. Like you said we said, keep doin you. Whatever works. We support you and the idea of not getting pushed int a box creatively.
"So am i wrong or secure if i really don't care??" Story of my life. This song is a slapper to the brain, Eargasm for sure. Thank you, I salute you Blueprint. I can't wait to see you again @ the Warped Tour.
@Dashiepie1 Well agreed my good friend. I've only met Blueprint, and only once, after a show where he performed this song, along with others but, I was not into rap or anything of the variant until I met Blueprint. He is a modest and tremendous man with a lot of talent that is very polite. I ended up buying his first album from him and got it autographed after finding his lost sharpie pen with him on the wet gravel drive next to the outdoor stage in the dark. Fond memories and Great music.
this is about as point blank as it can get without sounding like a hater! you gotta respect the hustle that he's actually doing because this is the way hip hop was from the beginning!!!
PURE PASSION!!! LOVE IT PRINT....KEEP IT COMIN'......MET YOU IN EUGENE OREGON YOU ARE SO DOWN TO EARTH... MAKES THIS SONG JUST THAT MUCH BETTER! YOU ARE 100% ON TARGET WITH THIS SONG AS YOU ARE WITH ALL OF YOUR MUSIC! U ARE A TRUE ARTIST!!! WE LOVE IT!
Blueprint--I peeped this 'cause Ali mentioned it, but you had me by the end. This is a strong, bold, passionate track. It's one of those "morning coffee wake-me-up" tracks. Gets the blood going through the heart.
This is my first time ever hearing a song from Blueprint. This song inspires me so much, just to be myself and not to change for anyone. Amazing song, I'm now a fan. :D
If it wasn't for blueprint and the entire rhymesayer's crew I would have given on my dream to become a rapper, to make the music that's in my head but now I'm trying harder than ever, thank you so much.
music that truly expresses ones self only needs to be listened to by a select few. those ignorant enough to listen to commercial rap doesn't deserve to listen to this poetry
This is as real as music can get. Most people love that fake, but gotta love this underground community, we make the music go round and the music helps us get around and get down.
Always have been an RSE fan, and have always been a 'Print fan. Hope to see yall at soundset this year. Love the way the song and these episodes are looking so far...damn good message.
Lyrical mastery. On tune. On time. Rock solid delivery. Real words. Real lyrics. Real real real. It doesn't get more true than this. You sir, are the real deal. Been following you for years, and proud of it.
This song still gives me chills....

Still a banger in 2020.

"Tellin' me to change only only makes me rebel more"
This track is on the next shit. 4 minutes with no chorus, no hook, just pure goodness.
Even Big Pun dug himself out of his tomb after experiencing this one.
keep coming back to this one, one of the realest songs in hip hop history.
Love this song, it impacted my life
"Print don't fit the format" Don't ever follow the format and we'll never stop listening. Keep at it Blueprint. This track is amazing.
Thank You Blueprint, Thank You Rhymesayers

Half a million views in 4 years.

These are good numbers here.
Blueprint always keeps it down to earth. Nothing but truth coming out of his mouth. What an under-appreciated artist.
This is one of those songs that just feel like an instant classic yet so many people are ignorant to the existence of blueprint.
"Make good music and give something my fans can smile about" thanks Blueprint. Dope stuff, always.
damn, ive restarted this three times now and i still havnt played it all the way through. " the more you tell me to change the more i rebel " so sick cant believe i never heard this dude until today

Listen, I am becoming a big fan. This song speaks so much to me and is inspiring me to work more on media production. Thanks for all you do!
