@@thomaandy237 Yes, that show was legendary. So sad to see it gone. They brought it back in 2020-21 but it hasn't been on the air since. 2024 would be a nice time to bring it back again.
To tell you truth, there was no announced finale at the end as only Chris Harrison wasn't saying it. instead, they put an Audience contestant down the curtain as the final episode taped before the series was officially cancelled beforehand. Not to mention, the original UK version with Tarrant had the final episode announced five years ago.
If they are curious as to why this show got cancelled, think about it this way: -Killing the original format by introducing the clock (although the format was really the same idea) -Viera leaving in 2011-12 gave them a cycle of awful hosts -The shuffle format/removing the hot seat made the show unrecognizable -Only 1 top prize winner since 2004 and it was a tournament that guaranteed a winner If ABC wanted to revive it once more in a primetime slot with the original format and lifelines, no gimmicks....the show would likely be a success again. They keep reviving old shows like Press your Luck, Card Sharks, etc....but they are hosted by comedians who don't know a thing about presenting a show. It's a shame this show got ruined by a lack of top prize winners and awful production during the last decade.
imo the show actually peaked at the clock format, it was intense and had the spectacular anniversary special with Regis. Shuffle was where it went downhill.
@@LunalynDragon Clock manufactured drama that wasn't needed though. Never liked it. Even Chris Tarrant had said they'd kill the show dead when they introduced it in UK after US had done it.
