i agree you should always be prepared, twice during different years while i had a connecting flight in Heathrow my bags were delayed once for 7 hours and once for a couple days because of some strike BOTH times from workers. wtf. so always prepare your carry ons for emergencies!

New subscriber! I too travel prepared with anything I would need should my suitcase gets lost! It has happened to me and I was two days with no change of clothes or toiletries. Let's just say lesson learned! I love all of your organization! 👜🧳❤️

My suitcase got lost once. I was on a 14 night holiday and it didn't turn up until the 8th night! I was on a small Greek island, there was only 1 shop selling clothes and it was the final 2 weeks of the season so there wasn't much left eg I take a size 5 shoe and they only had size 4 or 7 left, so I had to hobble around in a size 4! (I had travelled in ankle boots as it was cold at home.) I'll never travel without a change of clothes and footware ever again.
TopChelsea Girl Did you have a layover flight or was it a direct flight that your luggage got lost on. I’m just curious. This is my worst fear. To be force to rush and buy clothes.
Just another reason to carry-on only travel. Glad I made the change. Sorry for your troubles during your trip.
@@tippytoe1250 It was a direct flight from UK to Greece. When my suitcase eventually turned up it had stickers on it showing that it had been via the caribbean!
@@Positiveenergy68 This was back in the early 90s, carry on only wasn't an option unfortunately - you were only allowed a small handbag in the cabin.

I want to thank you, well first, great video. I'm older, not kids, no cats, no husband (no job - I'm disabled) but I've decided that this is the perfect time in my life to travel more. In fact my niece is taking me to Cuba next month!!! (Very excited, does it show?). Anyway, I have carried a memory foam neck pillow for years because it is the perfect height for my neck (also chronic pain issues). With my new commitment to travel, I've been binge watching minimalist packers, so I bought a new suitcase, smaller and easier to maneuver for me, and it means I can't over pack because I've always been bad about that. So today I put my travel pillow with said new suitcase and almost started to panic because I realized that my pillow was half the size of height of the suitcase and was thinking that I might have to leave it behind. Later in the day I came across your video. I never thought to smoosh my pillow before seeing you do it. I started at one end and was amazed at how much smaller I could make it. From there I put it in I a smallish nylon stuff sack. I will never have to go without my neck pillow ever again thanks to you. Some may think this is a bit much about a darn pillow, but with the nerve damage in my neck it's something that can literally make or break a trip. Thanks agin, I can't wait to see more of your videos. {{{hugs}}}

Longchamp in Madrid is about 60 euros, especially when they have a sale. If you ever go back to Europe check
out the designer bags there because they're cheaper, taxes are included not like here in the US (not sure in Canada), and you can get them refunded. Pretty easy to do in Paris but you need to ask for an invoice.

I watch a million of these videos also even though I travel 2-3 times a year. Lol. I’m watching again because I’m going to Germany, Switzerland and Austria soon. I use the Lesportac bag for my carry on. It’s very light weight and goes over the luggage handle and cost me $50 at Ross. I’ve travel with the longchamp before. I didn’t like it as much. For some reason every time I travel I always buy some sort of new gear. 😫

Why don't you read books on your iPad? Is it too big/bright? I have a tablet that is smaller, but I watch movies on it and have the Kindle app for books.
Yep, which ones are the best fit any type of sick person or anyone stuck in bed, especially in a hospital bed. Because but they bring round morning tea and give you a lovely cake/or doughnuts or whatever it is that day... You eat it - it’s normally finger food. Then you’ve got sticky fingers: I’m normally attached to an IV pole with three or four machines that I would have to unplug to get to the bathroom to wash my hands. So are you I use wet ones, ALL THE TIME: like I should really have shares in the company. I buy the mini size packs like you bought. But then for at home and whatever I buy the packets of 80 and they seem to go in no time.

Yep, I’m with you. But it ends as far as us packing a suitcases 🧳. As mine only gets to the hospital and back, every few weeks. But I am obsessed with packing and travelling videos. As there are very few what to take for a week of chemo videos! There is like what to take for chemo but they mean outpatient chemo and everybody seems to have someone else there with them. Where as I’m by myself... so it is like playing cards aren’t very much help! I would fill my own video but I’m just too sick... One day - I will

Sometimes I get confused with these videos cuz it says carry on but then I see people hold up their personal item and I'm like 🤔🤔 okay this works too. But I always considered a carry on, the suit are that goes in the overhang and then a backpack or purse or something like those are personal items. Is that right? Or have I completely fucked up my travel items 😱
OMG - you have found a wallet for me that will hold my phone in the drop proof case! I have so many medical problems that unfortunately I do drop things a lot - so I have my phone in an OtterBox defender case, which means it won’t fit in most wallets - but it will fit in that one. I’ll try and find it on my Amazon - I’m in Australia, but I am about to do a stop from The American one. Thank you thank you and once again thank you
My makeup is always in my carry on.Made the mistake once of pack8ng it in a checked bag my luggage was delayed. I had a lipstick and had to take an expensive taxi to a shopping area to buy overpriced emergency basics.Lesson learned.

I was thinking your carry-on would be the small suitcase that goes in the overhead compartment and that this purse would be your personal item that goes under the seat. Don't get me wrong--I love these types of videos too and actually am going to Paris next month, so I'll be taking your recommendations into account--just a lil confused on the carry-on lingo.
It can be both. I did not bring a small wheely suitcase that goes in the overhead compartment. I just brought this big bag. So its a mix between a purse and a carry on I guess :)

Love watching packing videos!! Have you ever got asked by TSA to take your liquids out of the clear bag from Amazon and put it into one of the bags provided at the airport? I always get so scared because my worst fear is being told to throw out my liquids!!
I think that since it’s the proper size(at least it appears so) and clear, there shouldn’t be a reason they’d make her change to one of theirs.

Take all the meds you wanna take on your trip, transfer some of those pills into a weekly pill organizer, and put a little label on each cap w/dosage. That way you have what you want, but it's not taking up so much space.

They didn't say anything to me but its hard to say which airlines will giive you a hard time.

finished fiery cross, took a break but now i am getting through my sci fi Artemis, then it is back on the galbaldon train. the new season seems pretty good, takes forever to watch, so many commercials!
Fiery cross is getting a bit boring for me right now.... hopefully it picks up! Season 4 is pretty good so far but I think it will get really good too!
