    QQ : I have a gallery view created using Vertical Gallery and now I have implemented filter for filtering items based on status. The filter works fine but it leaves space after selecting a specific status since it hides the others.
    How can I ensure it auto adjust after applying the filter without changing the gallery control to flexible one ? I would be too much work for me hence looking for a way out.

    • @RezaDorrani
      @RezaDorrani  3 роки тому +1

    It looks like I have some beginner issue - when I try to display a 'choice' (e.g. ThisItem.'Status') or 'person type' data field in my canvas app, it shows an empty box with an error that a text value is expected. Do I need to make some modification in the properties of the field so that the the data is shown?

    • @s.b.9037

      After having played around a little I have found out that I need to change to . Can you explain why I need to add '.Value' for this 'choice' field. In your example it was not required.
      Regarding the person type issue I have also noticed that I need to manipulate to . In this regard I have the following questions - apologies for keeping you busy with my questions :/
      1) Why are ' ' required for the Line Manager but not for Status?
      2) When I use or the values are shown nicely (and pulled from the organizational chart). However, when I try to show the Email or the department (which are also fields in the dropdown suggested by PowerApps), the following error comes "Name isn't valid. This identifier isn't recognized." Do you have any solution for this?

    • @RezaDorrani

      Choice columns are complex type column.
      You will need to use .Value to get the underlying value.

    • @RezaDorrani

      Person type column is also complex type column.

    • @RezaDorrani
      @RezaDorrani  3 роки тому

      Thank you!
      Connectors in Power Apps run under the context of the user and not any service account. The service account concept is more for flows.
      aka.ms/connectors - List of all connectors
      docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/data-platform/create-connection-reference - Connection reference concept
      I have not seen any best practices guidelines as such. But using solutions to build Apps and flows is best practice.

      Are you not able to replicate the design or not able to connected the gallery to the form?

      You can create a link to the item or document & use the Launch function in Power Apps.

    Great video. I have a SharePoint online List(with few columns), I am displaying them as data cards. I have a "Title" column added to data card. How to open a list item when it is clicked on Title label.

    • @RezaDorrani
      @RezaDorrani  3 роки тому +1

      If its a Power App, then you should direct user to a form not the list item.
      If you still need to, use the Launch function on title column click (onselect) and launch with the item url or url path property (its something related to path)

I just wanted to bring to your notice that I am having trouble importing gallery lookbook zip file getting following error "The solution file is invalid. The compressed file must contain the following files at its root: solution.xml, customizations.xml, and [Content_Types].xml. Customization files exported from previous versions of Microsoft Dynamics 365 are not supported." Can you provide me latest Repo link. Thanks

      How many screens and how many gallery items?
      Ideally the gallery items property should be driven from a colleciton which also has the screen reference it needs to redirect to.
      That ways OnSelect of the gallery Item, you can redirect user to the respective screen.

      Column name should match the name in your data source. Intellisense in the App should provide the available columns from your Table.
