A thrilling and raw drama about young lives lived on the edge in east London, Top Boy is an honest and gripping rendition of inner-city drug and gang culture.
One thing I like about this is ranell’s watching all this from his window just calmly eating his cereal, not even fazed by nothing cause this sort of thing is normal to him
My uncle had this shit pirated so I watched a couple episodes when I was like 13. I didn't come back to it for 11 years and I have to say how fucking incredible the music and the sound design was. Ghostpoet fucking KILLED it on Peanut Butter Blues and Melancholy Jam. I've had Finished I Ain't and One Twos / Run Run Run on repeat for a month straight.
SPOILER ALERT! I wonder what Dushane was going to do to that poor kid Michael … but that scene was brutal we’re all prepared to see violence it hits different when its about kids …
@@reyescastillo9224 Brits invented the English language. Yes! But American slangs like, no cap, drill, trap, yo, cuz & blood, my n__ga, all the smoke, what's good, snitchin', no shade, and so on are ALL black American slangs that came from poor neighborhoods, gang culture and prison culture here. The way these clowns in this top boy show are using them is clearly a rip off of urban American culture. Show me one British person saying that on camera before hip hop started in the Brox....cuz & blood are urban gang slangs that come from the bloods and crips. Show me footage of black guys in the UK saying any of those things because the blood and crips stared in LA GTFOH......and btw this top boy show is literally based on The Wire...another AMERICAN INVENTION
I do miss the grittiness of the original Top Boy seasons.
Way more realistic
So true. It felt so much more authentic and grounded. None of this hollywood shite.
They did amazing with a small budget. I love summerhouse more then the new seasons
