    Having a run first identity isn’t a bad thing. The Eagles are 14-1 when they run more than pass✍️✍️✍️✍️

      Context matters here, usually when we run more then we pass it is because we have a lead and are trying to make up long drives and run clock. Therefore I think it’s more so that we run because we are winning instead of us winning because we run. And I’m not arguing that bc I do realize both can be true, I just think stats like that are heavily swayed.

    • @generalb4005
      @generalb4005 2 дні тому +2

      @@GooseGamess The context that I was referring to is the Eagles record when running the football more than passing attempts which in my opinion spoke volumes without even having to analyze it further. More context came from flashbacks of our Super Bowl year when teams feared LeGarrette Blunt and Ajayi especially in the playoffs. When teams fear the run that opens up everything else. Of course if you have elite WR’s that helps too. That’s why I used the word ‘identity’ which meant when all ELSE FAILS and nothing else appears to be working what can you lean on. IMO the eagles have the OLINE and running backs and now a Fullback to lean on consistently. Why not stick with that run first identity now that we know that would only help our wr’s even more?

    • @JackFlash771
      @JackFlash771 2 дні тому +1

      Almost every team has that statistic; it means very little. You run when you're ahead or playing an inferior team. It's correlation, not causation.

    • @generalb4005
      @generalb4005 2 дні тому +2

      @@JackFlash771 identity doesn’t have to be based on statistics. It’s an eye test thing. It’s very obvious when a team leans on the run more and those teams traditionally win more than lose. For the life of me I don’t know why this is even a debate suggesting that the Eagles stick with running the football more. Regardless if you believe this is a fake stat or not which it isn’t. I guarantee you the Cowboys due to the lack of a running game are throwing more and we see how that’s working out for them.

    I think Philly has really built something special at CB for years to come. Quinyon, DeJean and Ringo will be the future. I think we need to realize Ringo was drafted very raw at 20 years old and younger than Quinyon. To have 3 young extremely athletic CB’s all in their early 20’s is special. These days a lot of the CB’s are smaller. They are all 6ft or over around 200lbs and over. All very good willing tacklers.

    The Eagles have the talent to be as flexible as they choose. The key is execution, and how effective Jalen is reading, processing the field. Quinyon Mitchell is a diamond in the rough.

    I think Rueb is confusing “identity” with “only thing you do”. Obviously you can’t only run the ball. I think we are talking about what we lean on, what we take pride in, and what starts our motor and gets the team going.

    Still holding onto the ball too long. I’m all for emphasizing the run if it keeps Hurts from running backwards 20 yards and getting sacked every game.

    The pass rush is getting better. The coverage is getting better with Dejean out there in place of Maddox. The Defense is starting to figure it out. I see 5 sacks a game 🤞

    Of COURSE you still throw the ball Roob... That's not what an identity is. But if you are a run first team, and the opponent DOES load the box, that opens up 1:1's for the receivers. AJ's 4th down against the Brown and the 4th down TD against the Giants were BECAUSE they loaded the box to stop the run. And if a team doesn't do that? Keep running. That easy.

    • @jwreck25
      @jwreck25 День тому

      I think maybe he understands that. What I don't think he get's is the running-passing breakdown of a game. He got an attitude at the run- pass breakdown.. It's like, sometimes you have to keep running and commit to it because our Oline is WAY BETTER than the other teams Dline

  • @jwreck25
    @jwreck25 День тому

    Only time I've ever strongly disagreed with Reub. Running HAS TO BE the identity... We don't get to 14-1 out of chance, rather commitment!! WE MUST COMMIT TO IT. Shane Steichen committed so hard to running the football that if Sanders couldnt eat, gainwell, scott, etc.. would eat. Pass plays would then naturally open up for Jalen. Got us all the way to the SB.. And oh by the way, SB 52 had two different running backs that wore down defenses also that ATE. Ajayi, Blount and the gang would just take turns.. Imagine Barkley, Gainwell, Shipley, AND Hurts all imposing their will on D-Lines. Make the most of Lane Johnson, Mailata, and Dickerson while you have them

    yeah the 14-1 record when we run the ball and play complementary football, we win. We also improve our passing game when the running game is working.. WHICH IT WILL WITH BARKELY. use ur head.

    At around the 12 minute mark, I agree with Roob. Obvi what Watson has done is deplorable, but to cheer for an injury is just immoral. I think very highly of Myles for what he said too. Maybe I’m wrong for thinking that but idk. Feels wrong to root for it.

    • @flame7153
      @flame7153 2 дні тому

      No, it is not wrong to root for the injury of a SERIAL PREDATOR who has NEVER APOLOGIZED or ever expressed any signs of reforming. You likely are sympathetic with the rapist because you are an immoral person harboring sentiment in Watson. I would say you’re more likely to sexually assault someone than a randomly sampled man off the street, and I’d put it at a 90% confidence interval.

    Completely disagree with Roob on the first question, we gave up trying to run against the browns when we shouldn’t have.. we need to be a run first team. How many times over the past ten years have we went into a game hearing oh this team has the #1 rush defense and we put 300 yards on the ground. We got Saquon who’s our best back in a long time and this season is not a passing season it’s all defense and ground game. Look at Henry and the 49ers kid it’s all running! So why should we try to force the pass game? Don’t be like Nick! Use what works and run it til the play action opens up!

    Still don't have faith in Jalen. Think it's going to be a tough game coming up.
    I'm glad to see that they're finally getting rookies out on the field and not holding them back. This organization stunts player growth and development so many times. Was screaming all off-season for them to play the rookies and young guys, they have to learn over the course of the season. IMO it's working.
    Also I feel pretty vindicated on my preseason opinion about WR3. Dave and Roob just constantly acting like it mattered and we needed to bring someone in. What a waste. Like I said, better off putting a cheap rookie out there because you never know. Jalen never makes good use of WR3. Dotson was a complete waste. Like I said they should have added somewhere that actually could have an impact because WR3 wasn't going to on this team.
