Nice...aint heard that in a long time..reall authentic ronnie vanzant vocals.. real rich ...hard Southern rock..dirty guitars...solid crisp hard hittin drums ..and gear shiftin drivin bass....woo hooo baby..yeah😊
Not just the best southern rock band they were the best live band hands down the best American rock band ever they were kicking ass and Taking names!!!!!!
Amazing how great this track is, yet it didn't make it to any of their official albums. Love how some of the solos fade up, almost like it's an outtake, but the playing is flawless. Great song, too.
technically it was released but it's hard to find, the single is quite expensive (in good condition) on ebay and it was even harder to find out that those songs exist in the first place
"...and how you people live together, heaven only knows". Used to associate this song with "I'm a Country Boy". Similar vibe, though this fits more with the "sing for just a minute and then it's all guitars for 3 minutes" Skynyrd song format. The T-for-Texas live recording also appeared on this mid-priced cassette. Preferred this to "I've been your fool" of the 2 unreleased songs
@@joeyknight6558 Yea it was Freebird and Simple Man. He liked Freebird but i think he thought it was too long. Freebird and Simple Man were 2 of their 3 most memorable songs. I'm glad Ronnie convinced him.
@@RadLenoard-ld2of I don't think he was an ass. He was new at producing and kind of raw but I think Ronnie knew what was best for the band than Al Kooper. Kooper was a good studio musician who helped promote Monterrey in '67 and played organ (by accident) on Dylan's Like a Rolling Stone in '65. He was mainly a guitar player but by a freak of circumstance he played organ which was requested to be turned up for the recording by Bob Dylan himself. And did a good job on it.
You're really paying attention. That's the way it was on the album and cd also. I just checked my cd art and it's the same as this. I guess skeletons can do all kinds of things since they don't have muscles and tendons to get in the way. : )

@@fallspeed Oh ok. My bad. I think if I remember correctly from a reliable source that they messed up the engineering on Allen Collins' last solo. That's why his guitar comes in stronger toward the end. They were gonna do another take but it never happened. It wouldn't be the 1st time that happened.
I heard this was done in 73, and was a sounds of the south recording.. it's commonly confused with muscle shoals, but was not part of those sessions, otherwise it probably would have been on first and last.
@@scottdesart275 You might be right because I believe Rickey played drums on some of the Muscle Shoals recordings. But I think this might have been recorded in '74 or '75 but not released until '79 after the crash. I could be wrong though.
It's too bad that the mix was messed up and kept burying Allen's parts..not once but twice! Hopefully someone got fired for making such an awesome take unusable.

I honestly loved everything RVZ Band recorded!🎸🥁
R.I.P. the real members of the Lynyrd Skynyrd band
Ronnie, Steve, Allen, Leon, Billy, Bob, Gary RIP !!!!

Solo's fading up might be a nice way of saying somebody screwed up. Half of that solo is practically lost.
I remember when this album was released. Two unreleased songs from the original band. I was pumped up.
How could this not be released. Like all the songs from First and Last. Just goes to show that IMO the best band ever
I agree with you on that plus the song You run around shouldve been on first and last
Hands down most talented band of all time any genre.

Kooper didnt want to release Free Bird until Ronnie talked him into it. What a mistake THAT would have been!
I think Kooper loved Freebird. The one he didn't want to release was Simple Man. Would have still been a huge mistake.

Dont know why this wasnt originally released as a single. Think it was from '74. Al Kooper was producer then.

Artemus Pyle is was a master od the cymbals

Is it Ed King on the 1st lead solo?
Dogdrum sounds like Gary to me, but could be. Definitely Allen on the other solos though

Why is the rhythm louder than the lead sometimes
Probably not mixed right since they didn’t release it

weird if Bob is on drums and Greg Walker on bass
Ed King is on bass. This is a demo recorded before the first album.
