Hey Ria Mae - this is a lovely song and that's why I "liked" it - but I think that you shouild lose the rapper - by including him you are pandering to the style of this time - I know it sounds preachy but someone of your talent should be trying to define and even transcend this time - this rapper (despite his skill and his ernestness) just feeds of your song - if it were just him he would have zero views.
I know you mean well Don. But you should know that for over a decade this rapper "Classified" has been nominated for and won multiple Canadian Juno awards and East Coast Music Awards. He is a fellow Nova Scotian and Ria's producer. He has done some very successful collaborations with artists from other genres. His involvement has furthered Ria's career. He's a very smart, talented and generous artist and businessman. And yes, this is a lovely song!

His work in the song will not stand on its own, whereas I feel Ria's song will benefit by her ditching his rap. It's really her song about her young unshakable faith in the world - do I really need this guy intruding and telling me about how he is never going to give up and about his music career? Sure t is somewhat related to Ria's song, but not truly related - It is added, I feel, in an effort to be trendy. I'm reminded a bit of this kind of rap where a beautiful woman laments in a beautiful and lyrical way before this arrogant hardcore rap intrudes - to me it is a musical device that does not work - that is ugly and contrived, it seems crude and wrong it seems contrary to the true elements and precepts of music - it rankles. I do like some rap - Selena Gomez's Good For You - with rapper Rocky is a great example of how rap truly can compliment a great song - as Rocky's rap is truly great!
