I just bought the Roofull ODD/HDD unit. When I plug it in, I get the beep from my laptop that it was discovered, then nothing. Directions are garbage. Unable to find it in DEVICES.
Me too. I used VLC to view one DVD of a John Mayer but my main purpose in buying this was to view old CD's of photos....cannot seem to bring them up. Came here for tips.
Yea, it sucks the cord is so short. It took me abit to figure out how to get it to play. I figured it would install itself, which it did, but I assumed it would have a software program to play the DVD/CD. I downloaded the free Microsoft program. I wonder if you can get an extension on the USB cord. I usually play my old dvds in bed on my laptop and that short cord is a hinder.
I'm waiting for mine from Amazon since my DVD drive works, but it quit working with a converter/burner program. Hoping this will take care of the problem.
I'm trying to view photos on old CD's from 2006 on, and I'm using VLC media player. I was able to watch a DVD but cannot figure out how to view my photos. Anyone know how?
Which software would you recommend for this DVD player? Preferably one that doesn't expire after so long. Thank you in advance. :) Great video by the way.
i cant really say.. this needs no software.. for a free player I use VLC which installs a lot of stuff to view files... for watching DVD video I would try to find something FREE if you can. I have not set up anything yet to watch DVDs
@@LEARNINGCHORDS I have one and it's also a CD-ROMS that reads programming, I used it to fix my laptop with a Windows 11 Repair Disk and it worked great for that too. I was just letting you know if you hadn't already found out yet.
I wanted to burn a music cd. I tried using both Realplayer and Windows Media Player. RP said it would take 114 minutes to burn. Windows locked up at 37%. Anyone know why I would be having this issue. I have a Lenovo Laptop.

Yes, I have had several people tell me that. My son in law mentioned something about a Codex file.@@LEARNINGCHORDS
Mine doesn't seem to be reading the DVD I'm inserting. I have VLC media player... not sure what I'm doing wrong. :(

if it wont read disks, change the disk region to 1 from 2 which mine defaulted to in windows system format screen

Anyone know if there is a dvd player that can be used for those 5v portable led monitors you can hook your phone up to?
So it's not a 'plug and play' external drive as one has the hastle of installing a specific drive...?
plug and play for me... I move it from machine to machine
What software can I get for watching videos if I can't see my videos?
Just received and the sound is extremely low and have to have speakers up to 100% and can still barely hear it.
I understand that I can't watch video in my car, but I can I play CD audio in the car by using the 12v port ?
there are better ways to play cd audio in the car than this item
