US, UK, France Dock Nuke Submarines In Scotland l NATO's Clear Message To Putin Amid Ukraine War?

  • The nuclear-powered submarines of three western powers including the US, UK and France have docked in Scotland’s naval base HMNB Clyde. The confluence of nuclear-submarines in Scotland come amid heightened tensions between NATO and Russia over Ukraine.
While the gathering of NATO submarines could be coincidental, it comes amid heightened tension with Russia. Adding to the speculation is the fact that there is no official submarine drill scheduled in Clyde. All three countries have appeared secretive about the movement of their nuclear submarines to Scotland.

You don't worry about nuke subs when you can see them - when you know where they are. Its when they disappear and are not being tracked that you start to worry.

I grew up as a child with the fear of nuclear war, I do not want my children living years with that fear as I once did. Enough is enough this is a threat to all humanity and those throwing the words around like its ok should be held accountable, un and European courts need to issue some kind of statement and arrest warrant on the grounds of crimes against humanity. I am sure one of the articles in human rights is the right to peaceful home life with out fear or persecution, not sure exactly as my memory gets foggy from age. But the whole world needs to stand up to these kind of threats !!

Submarines are in the waters around Scotland ALL the time, right round the coast of Scotland,it's been common knowledge for us here in Scotland. The threat has always been there, therefore our waters have always been patrolled. Not just the Clyde, there's LOADS of ports around the coast,The MOD aren't going to disclose information, that would be stupid,so public Will only hear a wee bit of what is actually happening.

Well you would expect to find UK Submarines in a UK Submarine base! Scotland is in the UK. French and American Submarines are also likely to use the base for a number of reasons as after all they are allies of the UK inside and outside of NATO.

We never see French nuclear subs at that base. Never, unless it's an emergency stop. The US from time to time yes, but the fact all 3 of the main powers are there with nuclear stealth subs is a clear demonstration of unity and capability towards Russia.. the American's spelled it out clearly to Russia in their statement, so there's no doubt.

Logic would dictate we should, the downside to Russia's so far disastrous Ukrainian invasion is nukes appear to be all they have left with their military under performing so badly, that makes their use more likely not less with someone like Putin who cannot ever allow himself to appear weak.

I'm not sure what country you are from, but I am from the United States. We will be told whatever the government thinks will save the most lives. They need to be ready if Putin does act on his threats. Having our whole country in a state of panic would not be helpful. Ukraine lied to their citizens before Russia invaded. The Ukraine government knew it would happen. Do you think the United States would be different? Would they tell us an attack is coming.

I don't think it was an accident, it was a political move by NATO towards Russia, to say we're together, unified, and ready.. we can strike at Russia at any time, right on your doorstep, any or all of the main nuclear powers can.. the use of subs and nuclear armed ones, was definitely a political signal to Russia to stop the nuclear threats and a reminder of what it risks.

They are located in the region called ‘the Holy Loch’, Loch Fyne, the place is geographically like a Norwegian Fiord. It is at a Royal Navy base that was leased/shared with/to the Americans in the 1970’s. The Americans housed Trident submarines there with special weapons. Russians know all about the place and may still have sensitive listening devices still active.
I used to go on skin diving expeditions to that region looking for German WWII U-boats that were sunk there. On several occasions, we came across observers stealthy up in the heather observing the coming and going of the US weapons and taking notes of what they were seeing. I personally talked to two girls from Lithuania who were watching, they were friendly but close lipped. The other guys with the BSAC crew met some Czech guys who were also taking notes of the coming and going.

This video confuses or ends up confusing nuclear powered attack submarine (SSNs) with SSBNs which nuclear ballistic missile carrying. SSBN's don't just gather in port but sneak out into the oceans to lurk unnoticed.
The obvious message by gathering in that location is to demonstrate that they are actively tracking Russian ballistic missile submarines as they transit the GIUK gap. That is pretty much the only way Russia can transit from port, so it's always been a key choke point for tracking subs.

American-English word NUKE colloquially refers to nuclear bombs.
All submarines mentioned in the video (US Virginia-class, French Rubis...) are all nuclear POWERED attack submarines that carry anti-ship missiles.
The nuclear thing is in the motor, not in the weapons.
Even if technically they could load some missiles with a nuclear head, that won't be the kind of city-eraser bomb.

The huge Yuzivska shale gas deposit in the Donbas (1.09 - 4 trillion metric metres of shale gas) - is the second-largest shale gas deposit in Europe. The EU was interested in buying gas from Ukraine in order to diversify its suppliers and cut dependence on Russian gas. Ukraine has extensive gas storage facilities and pipelines, close to the EU, and such an arrangement would make a large dent in Gazprom's (Putin's) profits. Similarly, Crimea has large offshore gas deposits that Putin wanted. This war is all about Putin's Gazprom profits. That's why they are pulling back to defend Donbas. We’re talking here of nations with a history of mass murders of innocent civilians like the illegal invasion of Iraq under the false guise of weapons of mass destruction and murdering hundreds of thousands of women and children. The illegal occupation of Afghanistan for 20 years where almost a million civilians were massacred. The destruction of Libya and killing in cold blood of his family including babies. Right now Russia's militarily is stretched thin. It has the bulk of it's military committed to the invasion of Ukraine. It is starting to see it's supply of missiles, tanks, helicopters and jets reach dangerous lows. Its trained, professional army has taken huge loses and is growing weary. The rush to procure fresh conscripts has been underway for weeks now. I think NATO needs to start moving ships to the Baltic Sea, and the Bering Sea. The U.S. needs to start moving troops and equipment to Alaska. NATO/U.S. should not make any comments either to confirm or deny accusations from Russia. Let them wonder and worry. They will have no choice but to send military resources to defend these regions. This will be too much for them to also continue their war in Ukraine.

@Ukraine is Russia you are Russian arnt you. Let me explain as if you were a child. Usa could hit Russia with 100 nukes in the time it takes for a Russian missle to make it here. Since you believe in putins obvious lies I will assume this is easy to believe.

That's great and that's necessary to let him know that if he dare to push and keep threatening the weat he going to meet his maker and for all the fear he has brought upon all these innocent Ukraine' ppl. Plus the one that lost their dear life's over his assumption which were negative ..Because sometimes ppl must do what's best in Their interest and Their country...He needs to stop treating these west states and Their neighbors...We haven't done anything like that plus we treat their soliders with respect and take care of them while in our custody.. these soliders even let them call their families and let them know theirs okay and will be home once Their sentences are complete...What more to what they do to the Ukraine is opposite For What I have seen public beating on these soliders which been capture.. Time for peace and healing ..Let God let live ..and be humble.
