But i agree there is a long periode of history where Brunei was close with what today is sabah and sarawak. So i get why you think of Brunei as semi-malay. Honestly, I more like the Philippines away from it's capital. The islands' landscapes are breath taking. Fewer exotic food than other neighboring countries, I recent visited Philippines last 2018 just in El Nido and Bohol Island. Boracay is overcrowded and I'm sick of it. Thailand is extremely beautiful too, exotic food made me in a once in a lifetime moment. Singapore is the cleanest country. I loved them. Philippines, Thailand and Singapore are my favorites. I would love to try next year, Vietnam, Malaysia and Timor-Leste.
Malaysia does not have 17k islands like indonesia nor 7k islands like philippines but we are not crowded and like the narrator said well rounded. This list is a mess lol I take my like back Bali alone can make Indonesia in rank 1 (or at least top 3, in top of Malaysia and Cambodia), it's called as the land of paradise for reasons anyway (and it has been since the ancient time, a lot of ancient Indian kingdoms manuscripts described Indonesian archipelago as the most beautiful place in the world they ever see), not to mention Indonesia has one of 7 wonders Borobudur temple, the one and only heritage from southeast Asia region that is included in that list by UNESCO... People always lead with how expensive Singapore is, but based on the US dollar it's not that bad. An amazing meal at any one of the numerous hawker centers costs between 5 and 8 Singapore Dollars which equals between US $3.50 and $5.50 depending on the exchange rate. Yes, there are aspects of Singapore that can be expensive when compared to other countries. For example, a drink at bars like Manhattan, Atlas or Jigger and Pony (voted Asia's best bar for 2020) will set you back around $18.00 USD, but for about the same price you can spend an afternoon at the Cloud Forest and Flower Dome at Gardens by the Bay. Public transportation is also extremely affordable and it's very clean. If you plan accordingly you can definitely vacation there on a budget.

Honestly, I more like the Philippines away from it's capital. The islands' landscapes are breath taking. Fewer exotic food than other neighboring countries, I recent visited Philippines last 2018 just in El Nido and Bohol Island. Boracay is overcrowded and I'm sick of it. Thailand is extremely beautiful too, exotic food made me in a once in a lifetime moment. Singapore is the cleanest country. I loved them. Philippines, Thailand and Singapore are my favorites. I would love to try next year, Vietnam, Malaysia and Timor-Leste.
Malaysia does not have 17k islands like indonesia nor 7k islands like philippines but we are not crowded and like the narrator said well rounded. You want a great city called new york of SEA we have it. You want wildlife we have it. You want diving you have it. You want food (the best in SEA) you have it. You want old buildings we have it. You want tall mountain to hike, we have it. You want white beaches we have it. You want cold places we have it.
