Very well done! First time I've seen a training Shashka. They're one of my favorite types of swords. Beautiful woodwork.

Здравствуйте. Какой вид шашки вы используете для фланкировки? Как правильно выбрать себе шашку для фланкировки?

restojon1 thank you, these were ordered by a gentleman in Japan and I basically just came up with a design based on photos he sent me. the rest of it I just kinda of make up as I go along to be honest.

Interesting to see how you made your Shashkas. I have made about 12 of them. using them for training. I teach a class on the Shashka from the 1898 Imperial Russian Manual that I translated into English. Here is link if you are interested-www.lulu.com/shop/marc-lawrence/cossack-fencing-manual/paperback/product-22964456.html. I am have some steel trainers made up soon.

Hi mate, I'd be happy to make a couple for you. It's only a hobby though so they may take some time to complete. I can be contacted through the JG custom training knives Facebook page. Regards J

Hi there, I can make you one if you like, it's just a hobby though so they can take some time. They're made of hardwood but aren't too heavy.

Shashka is not a Cossack weapon but a Circassian. Even the word „shashka“ means „long blade“ in Circassian language

Симпатичные сувениры..) А для тренировки не годятся: баланс от пяты клинка где у вас будет? Плохо, когда берутся делать, не понимая сути..
