restojon1 thank you, these were ordered by a gentleman in Japan and I basically just came up with a design based on photos he sent me. the rest of it I just kinda of make up as I go along to be honest.

I teach a class on the Shashka from the 1898 Imperial Russian Manual that I translated into English. Shashka is not a Cossack weapon but a Circassian. Even the word „shashka“ means „long blade“ in Circassian language
