The DP World Tour continues this week with the first Roles Series event of the season as the Emirates Golf Club hosts the Hero Dubai Desert Classic. World Number Two McIlroy is in the field again. He is aiming to become the first four-time winner of the prestigious event, having begun his 2024 campaign with a runner-up finish at the inaugural Dubai Invitational. Tommy Fleetwood will also be teeing it up again this week. His victory at the Dubai Invitational last week was built upon a consistent campaign in 2023, which saw him register five top-tens, including a runner-up finish at the season-ending DP World Tour Championship. Tyrell Hatton will also be in Dubai this week for his season debut. He finished 2023 with three top-12’s in his last five events to round of the year. Others to look out for are Nicolai Hojgaard, Francesco Molinari and Ryan Fox.

So happy his mum and dad were there with him. I have no doubt they gave up a lot so Rory could realise his true potential. This is Rory giving back to them. What a wonderful moment. And Rory signing autographs and posing for photos for the kids who idolise him proves Rory is the real deal.
If we only had more Rory Mcilroys the world would be a better place. Classy and throughly decent guy.
