I really dig that soft PVC(?) material over the plastic parts - gives the impression of organic tissue overlayed on mechanical parts. Transformation's pretty involved, which I also like! Hasbro/Takara's absolutely killing it with the more recent figures outside of the MPs.
G1 and Beast Wars Megatron meeting to just “yeeeeessss” at each other is all I ever wanted. They better keep that verbal signature in the cartoon. Very excited for my figure to be arriving in the mail in a couple of days. I love Beast Wars!

The Beast mode is, indeed, more Jurassic Park accurate than Beast Wars accurate... But we have the MP-43 for show accuracy; so this is cool in itself! (And the robot kibble is really well hidden in beast mode)
That's the trickiness of the Beasties. Vehicles only need to have articulation in robot mode, but beasts need it in both modes, otherwise you just have a statue. Probably hard to make sure the beasts can pose well without looking too much like robots in disguise AND still be sturdy in poses for the robot.
I know you don't like comparing MPs to mainlines, but interestingly, I think they informed some of the transformation mechanics from MP-43. The fact they simplified that figure in addition to creating a more articulate beast mode is really awesome.

What a sinister family reunion Megatron meets Megatron Jr. for the first since Junior tried to take away his great great great great great grandfather's spark so he can turn into a dragon a move he has learned to regret in "Transformers: Beast Machines" where his quest to become the most perfect machine goes to his head (literally), but that's another story.
Besides my beloved and long-gone Transmetal BW Megatron, this is the first BW Megs I've ever had (even though it's technically WfC Trilogy) and this figure is awesome. Yesssss. Now I just need the Transmetal in this size and style and I can die happy.
That was the bet skit in years haha I thought Megatron was going to bow down and say "I am honoured to meat you my namesake" and emgo making a joke with that but the the unexpected was way more funny and hilarious
If I had to guess...I think the layered design with the soft plastic might have to do with the soft parts being made out of PVC (Assuming that's what they're made out of. I can't say for sure without having him in hand). I learned in school that if you have PVC and ABS plastics touching each other for long periods of time, then the plasticizers from the PVC will leech into the ABS; melting it and causing the two parts to become permanently "glued" to each other. If I had to hazard a guess, it's probably why there have been so many reports of the Bloosh effects parts from Siege melting the numbs that they're meant to sit in. If anyone reads this and panics about something like the PVC hands on figmas holding their accessories. Don't panic. None of mine have ever had that happen to them, as it's typically something that'll happen over the course of several years. So, I'm stumped as to why it happened so quickly to the Siege toys. Probably something to do with the specific blends of ABS and (I assume) PVC they used. And if I'm wrong about anything here, do feel free to correct me.
The promotional pictures of it, were just so wrong. Megatron was so PINK in those pictures, which was actually making my decision of NOT buying it. Apparently, David Kaye was unaware that the WFC trilogy was bringing back BW Megatron, and nobody contacted him to voice the character. I’m only going for what I’ve been hearing. I don’t have any source that claims this, so take it as a grain of salt. But considering the team behind the trilogy made no contact with Peter and Frank to voice Prime and Megs, I doubt both David Kaye and Garry Chalk are involved with the series.
I haven't bought any Leader class figures up until Doubledealer from Earthrise, which os my only Leader class figure as of this moment until Megatron comes out for me, and I noticed he was smaller than my Titans Return Sky Shadow and Overlord who are both Leader class figures. Now when I look at the size comparison between the new Beast Wars Megatron compared to the old Beast Wars Megatron I realized something. The new Leader class figures is just a modern Ultra class sized figures with the name Leader class slapped on it.
