@tytheeman20 You are getting more and more inconsistent. So you started admiring masculinity at age 6. That doesn't make you gay. Masculinity is an admirable thing. But at age 6 you were like other boys. You are biologically a boy aren't you? It is biologically incorrect to say that you were not like other boys. If you want to posit that psychologically, you were not like other boys, I may agree with that statement, but I didn't know you then.
Being gay is not a behavior. It's something someone is born with, just like you are born into a certain race. Trying to say that gay people can have the same thing as marriage, but to call it something different is being separate but equal and that was ruled unconstitutional by the Supreme Court.

Or is it just an exception that confirms the rule for him? And that is just one example out of a long series of things the catholic doctrine changed since it's inception...

@CatholicAmerican Ok - get it through your head - as a gay person, I have never had the desire or attraction for a woman. At the age of 6, there is no scientific support that would suggest someone is consciously thinking about sex and how to carry it out. Therefore, there is no evidence that would support that a 6 year old would choose to ignore one sexuality and defiantly choose the opposite. At age 6, I could realize that I was not like other boys. Ur getting annoying - I dont need to explain
You Said "They can not help being gay" I SAY How do you know this? The "act" of sexuality is a learned behavior. I'm not saying being sexually aware is learned, I'm saying what you do with your sexual desires are learned behaviors. EVERY act you make is by your own choice. Why do so many people forget about the time in their life when they learned about the "Birds and the Bees?" Think back to that time & remember your mindset; with honesty you can prove this to yourself.
does that mean that i should have the constitutional right to vote. because he said it doesn't matter where you are in your life cycle, you should always have constitutional rights.
How can you discriminate against a behavior? That doesnt make any sense. You can certainly discriminate about a race... Youll have to explain that to me.
@md2016st It's this kind of hatred that creates all the conflict and violence in our country today. Before you go and attack me for my beliefs as well, let me point out that I am a 15-year-old girl from a Midwestern high school. You may treat your slaves like this, but the people of Israel, your relatives, must never be treated this way." (Leviticus 25:44-46 NLT) the bible should not be taken literally
@CatholicAmerican Sorry, I'm not inconsistent about anything I said. At that age, the same as a straight person, there is a socialization and more of an awareness of other humans and their gender. A little straight boy will be curious of girls and vice versa. The world doesn't revolve around what you see and what this particular society views as predominant. There are people who are naturally different and shouldn't be punished for that. I can tell you now - I'm done with this whole discussion.
And i grew up always thinking it's ok to murder someone. I never saw any harm in that. I'm naturally different as well so i guess i shouldn't be punished for it. Everyone thinks differently.
@cunard61 There is no freedom FROM religion in the Constitution. It is freedom OF religion and is meant to keep the FEDERAL goverment out of religion. Problem with the "oh, things change" in regards to the Constitution is that eventually it will be so altered that what we end up with will be a mess that none of us will enjoy. And religion has been used for determining what is right and wrong for hundreds of years, ours used the teachings in the Bible.
news flash, ricki... the only thing that is the same about marriage over the past 2000 years is that it's between a man and a woman. marriage today is NOTHING like it was 2000 years ago. women were seen as inferior and had NO say in the marriage. she did not need to consent into the marriage. he could buy her and make her his wife. in this day and age, TWO ADULTS MUST CONSENT in order to enter a marriage union.
or from timothy "Christians who are slaves should give their masters full respect so that the name of God and his teaching will not be shamed. If your master is a Christian, that is no excuse for being disrespectful. You should work all the harder because you are helping another believer by your efforts. Teach these truths, Timothy, and encourage everyone to obey them." (1 Timothy 6:1-2 NLT)
It's your closed mind that embarrasses us Christians. The Bible is a document meant for interpretation but never meant to persecute others. That is not the way that Christ preached. The problem here is that you are far too wrapped up on how your preacher/priest told you to interpret the old testament when our job as Christians is to focus on the words written in red. You are correct though. This exchange is over.
@tytheeman20 You make a grave logical error when you say that I "decided to be str8". I didn't decide anything. that's just how human sexual anatomy works. There was no conscious decision about it. There's no gay gene and there's no "str8" gene. There is sexual anatomy and the observable complementarity of the sexes. This complementarity isn't an opinion, it's a biological fact.
Are you telling me homosexual behavior is not... a behavior? Please expand on that. Yes, people are born with behaviors. Race is a trait not a behavior, but both are things people are born with. Marriage implys the possibility of procreation; so you see the obvious problem with two individuals of the same gender trying to reserve this privilege. Remember, marriage is a societal privilege not a right.
There is however some glimmer of rationale in what he says though, and I'm going to use myself as an example. I'm a heterosexual atheist and I like and respect people of all walks of life. However in terms of transexuals, and I've met a few who I have really liked. By and large as with people of other walks of life they're fundamentally good people. I don't however believe they're truly women. I mean after all, I have had to ask myself would I for the sake of argument date someone who had gender alignment surgery to look like a woman and I'd have to say, no. It's just the way I feel but does that mean I am hateful or bigoted? No. I have no truck with another man wanting to become involved with someone who is transexual or even getting married to them. I personally couldn't understand it but then it doesn't matter if I do. It matters that the other man does. It's a free society and people are allowed to do what they like within reason so long as it doesn't hurt or infringe on other people's rights. In his case it's the right to choose as is mine. Both should be respected and to make that decision one way or another is not necessarily hateful or bigoted.
@iamemiliodelgado You're right that he would be a terrible father to a gay kid. I also don't wish any other gay person physical harm or mental agony as a result of assholes like Rick Santorum. But, it would force him to actually try to recognize the truth that being gay is not a choice and can't be taught to somebody.
The old testament doesn't apply? So the 10 Commandments don't apply? The Genesis story doesn't apply? You cannot pick and choose like this. The truth is, you do not get your morals from the Bible, rather you pick from the Bible what you like based on your own morals that you already have.
YOU SAID "I'm so confused, they either have all the rights or not, as a tiny fetus, or a homosexual adult." I SAY You can lose your rights, your freedom, all the way up to your life as a youth or adult in a number of legal ways since the beginning of law. I want to believe you are aware of morality... aren't you?
@tytheeman20 Biologically speaking, homogenital acts are acts of mutual masturbation. Masturbation is an imitation of the real thing. And yet the natural design of your anatomy does not suggest that you use your anatomy in a homogenital manner, rather the design of anatomy coherently functions only in a heterosexual manner. To put it another way. The plumbing doesn't work that way.
"The stupid stuff that doesn't make sense?" Are you even a Christian? You realize that your religion teaches that the Bible is the word of a perfect God. While it's blatantly true, from an atheistic perspective, that there ARE stupid things in the Bible, that's not something I've ever seen a Christian admit. So what are your views? Is the Bible inspired by God?
I think we should, instead stigmatizing these is not good , I mean yeah we all have our beliefs, cultures, religions and we must learn to respect people and what they decide to be in, I mean I am against homosexuality but I don't hate homosexualists I respect them and their sexual rights.
@ThePyro89 we are talking about gay marriage here. if the argument you want to use is that God made people gay just like there are animals that are gay so gay marriage is something God is for than we can talk about the issue from that perspective (the one of religion and specifically Christianity) too. If that's what you're saying the Christian belief is that God created everything perfect in the beginning and man's sin allowed evil and death to enter the world.
Nice try, but if you don't remember I'm not a Christian and don't take the Bible for shit. I'm asking you, as a Christian, how you know which parts of the Bible men got right and you managed to totally tap dance around the answer. You don't use "common sense" to know whether or not Genesis is correct. Common sense, if anything, says that Genesis is bullshit. So how do you know they got Genesis right, if you admit they were wrong about some things?
YOU SAID "...when in nature there are many animals that are" (gay). I SAY (I hope you receive this) Animals do not have sex for pleasure alone. It is a reproductive act for animals as they were made to reproduce that way. Gay people "don't" reproduce. God creating same sex animal reproduction methods in nature, does not justify before God, a humans gay sex that is strictly for pleasure.
Of course there are behaviors that are homosexual, but /being/ gay isn't a behavior. Do you consider being straight a behavior as well? Yes marriage can imply procreation, but that isn't the only thing marriage is about. And what would you say to maybe a straight couple who is sterile that want to marry? Would you deny them the right because they can't procreate. And the fact that marriage isn't a right is the exact reason why it's so preposterous that we have to fight for it.
@stevesmithjr52 I didn't say anything about the constitution. You are correct in the fact the constitution doesn't state word for word "separation of church and state" but it is derived from the establishment clause of the first amendment and also a letter from Thomas Jefferson. It's very interesting stuff, you should really read up on it.
I'm on the side that knows it's unconstitutional to use religion in your politics. Also, I can use caps lock if I damn well please. Also, just don't talk down to me. I'm not at all tolerant of that.
@tytheeman20 How does someone know if they are "truly gay"? Are you admitting that there are those who aren't gay and who yet suffer from same sex attraction? Should those who are not "truly gay" be made to suffer unhappiness from same sex attraction with no recourse to a clinical option for treating it just because LGBT activists hate reparative therapy? That doesn't sound fair at all. In fact it sounds like a human rights abuse.
@tytheeman20 You're right, same sex attraction isn't a choice. It's an environmentally conditioned neurosis. Nobody is born gay. Human sexual anatomy has a specific purpose and function. To ignore the biological facts when formulating an opinion on homosexuality puts you completely in the realm of subjective opinion. This is why you feel the need to posture and call Rick an asshole. You don't know Rick. You have no grounds for making such a statement. Shame on you for making the statement.
So basically your saying we should assume everything we hear is true until it can prove itself wrong. This is why science laughs in the face of religion. Religion tries to find facts to support or fit a conclusion rather than trying to find a conclusion based on the currently presented facts. This is nonsensical, its unscientific, its naive, and its childish.
If Rick "Look-My-Name-Up-On-Google" were even aware that there were other countries in the world, he would probably whip him himself up into a frenzy and be spewing filthy froth out of both ends every time one supported gay rights. He would have just had that opportunity when the Parliament in New Zealand--not that Santorum has ever heard of New Zealand--by a vote of 77 to 44, just passed full gay marriage there. It is the first nation in the Pacific to do so. More will follow.
@CatholicAmerican How am what I saying considered an opinion? I am gay, therefore, what I am telling you about gay people and what being gay means is just that. It is complete fact. - You, not being, are the one who have the opinion about why gay people are gay. Every single gay person in the world will tell you that your OPINION is WRONG.
LOL Santorum. When he has sex with his wife, his sperm creates a fully formed, albeit very tiny, human being. I don't know about anyone else but when I get someone pregnant it definitely makes an embryo first.
@tytheeman20 Religion doesn't dictate reality and our discussion is not one of religion. It's about the biological facts of human sexuality. Human sexual anatomy. Human reproductive cells. Most importantly it's about the intellectual inconsistency of pretending that human desire has the power to change biological reality. It can't. Human desires that do not fit in to the clearly observable biological facts of their body is grounds for calling same sex attraction a neurosis like anorexia.
@CatholicAmerican Well it's great that YOU want to seek the Truth because I sure dont have to on the matter. Being as though you're not listening to an actual gay person seems like you don't have a desire to know the Truth - you're working to change MY mind. But sorry, this is something you can't change. Since you "decided" to be str8, you have all the opportunity in the world. There's no need to try & convert a gay person to be str8. Live your life - we'll worry about protecting our own rights.

How many people do you think you've changed opinions? just saying..Wise as snakes.. Innocent as doves!
@tytheeman20 why would you wish that onto someone? of course Santorum says he'll still love em, but come on now, he'd probably send that son away if he was under 18 and then cut him off. I wouldn't wish that onto any kid, gay kids go through enough growing up, adding this nutjob as a dad would be horrible.

I will never understand how a man can look at another man and think to himself "oh yeah, I want some of that". I also don't understand how man can look at a good looking woman and not be excited. I just don't get it. Sorry.
You’re kidding me right?
Its normal, when your where in your moms belly you had a hormone peak that made you attracted to girls, few male dont have it and are attracted to man, the same way most woman have no peak making them attracted to men and a few have a peak making them attracted to women.
Uh yeah... because you're not gay. Straight logic.
Maybe its because you're not? Are u mental?
Well that means you’re straight, congratulations. I also don’t understand how combustion engines work either but I don’t say they don’t exist. Or that they should be illegal
We need more Rick Santorums.
Why?
Because he has the guts to say what we all know. It's a slippery slope. Started with "we just want to get married" then it was we just want to dress in drag and twerk in front of kids. Now at pride parades they are chanting "we are coming for your children."
Whoever you sleep with is your business, we don't need all this overly sexualized kink being paraded on the streets in front of kids.
@@JohnSmith-rq5voyeah that’s why black and whites shouldn’t be allowed marriage. In fact, people who aren’t already related by blood shouldn’t get married! It’s a slippery slope…
Great job standing for truth, in all humility and love, Mr. Santorum. Well done.
not truth , lets not degrade that word , theres no fact for christianity its just a fairy tales. but atleast dude is not an asshole, ill give you that
I think Rick Santorum is crazy, but the man is a slick speaker.
I don't think he is crazy, even though I don't agree with some of his views. He is just an oldschool Christian.
@tytheeman20
You are getting more and more inconsistent.
Truth does not change.
And Rick Santorum doesn’t believe in the truth.
YOU SAID "it sounds like you are coming out here." I SAY No, I am not "coming out". FYI - I'm not hiding anything I am ashamed of, or afraid of how people will receive me. Thanks for asking.
The truth does change with time. Slavery anyone?
So this guy, the interviewee, at one point says, cleverly in his eyes, that he doesn't think truth changes depending on the era... hmm... I know a few things that did change from the past to the modern day, like the fact we are no longer forced to believe the earth is at the centre of the universe... Or is it just an exception that confirms the rule for him? And that is just one example out of a long series of things the catholic doctrine changed since it's inception...
When did the Bible ever say the earth is the center of the universe
@@suaveosami Yes, that was the belief of the Catholic church before. That’s why Galileo Galilei was prosecuted for introducing the Heliocentric model of the universe.
Case in point: the separation of religion and State. Rick and his supporters do not accept it-but that is okay. Even if they manage to change public policy in their favor, there is hell and high water to pay. They'll win the battle but lose the war.
“It’s a biological fact that a human life begins at conception.” That can be easily debunked.
How
Do it then
I'd be interested to hear the counter argument.
its the ✨confusing comment section✨ for me
what happened to if a girl is found not a virgin she shall be stoned to death...do we still do that? no...cause we are in a DIFFERENT ERA.
No, I just don't watch CNN. I don't know anything about him, what has he done that is so terrible?
You Said "They can not help being gay" I SAY How do you know this? The "act" of sexuality is a learned behavior. I'm not saying being sexually aware is learned, I'm saying what you do with your sexual desires are learned behaviors. EVERY act you make is by your own choice. Why do so many people forget about the time in their life when they learned about the "Birds and the Bees?" Think back to that time & remember your mindset; with honesty you can prove this to yourself.
mr. Santorum, the bible also supports slavery, so to take everything it says as literal truth is just stupid
Where in the Bible support slavery?
Justify that slavery is immoral
Exactly my point, thanks for substantiating that God never said go be slaves. It is not an institution ordained by God in any way.
No just condoned and codified by him. He litterally tells you how to treat slaves depending on their origins and how cruel you can be and remain moral
does that mean that i should have the constitutional right to vote. because he said it doesn't matter where you are in your life cycle, you should always have constitutional rights.
We are all at different stages in our life cycle.
How can you discriminate against a behavior? That doesnt make any sense. You can certainly discriminate about a race... Youll have to explain that to me.
I take that as I've just won this debate.
@md2016st It's this kind of hatred that creates all the conflict and violence in our country today. Before you go and attack me for my beliefs as well, let me point out that I am a 15-year-old girl from a Midwestern high school. Just because Santorum is an attorney doesn't make him automatically right; neither do his views make him a bad person. However, homosexuality exists, and gay people have as much right to a good and fulfilling life as any other person, because they are people.
Rick, did you ever figure out what that lubricious brown fluid was that they labeled with your name?
read all of the bible
"you may purchase male or female slaves from among the foreigners who live among you. You may also purchase the children of such resident foreigners, including those who have been born in your land. You may treat them as your property, passing them on to your children as a permanent inheritance. You may treat your slaves like this, but the people of Israel, your relatives, must never be treated this way." (Leviticus 25:44-46 NLT)
the bible should not be taken literally
“Some truths don’t change” what does he feel about slavery LMAOOO
@Raineygoodyears Nice questions. How you can find the answers.
or from timothy
"Christians who are slaves should give their masters full respect so that the name of God and his teaching will not be shamed. If your master is a Christian, that is no excuse for being disrespectful. You should work all the harder because you are helping another believer by your efforts. Teach these truths, Timothy, and encourage everyone to obey them." (1 Timothy 6:1-2 NLT)
I wonder if all of his clothes are a pure fabric because if they are mixes he is going to hell!
@tytheeman20
You make a grave logical error when you say that I "decided to be str8". I didn't decide anything. that's just how human sexual anatomy works. There was no conscious decision about it. There's no gay gene and there's no "str8" gene. There is sexual anatomy and the observable complementarity of the sexes. This complementarity isn't an opinion, it's a biological fact.
Also Leviticus 25:44-46 "Your male and female slaves are to come from the nations around you; from them you may buy slaves."
KMSZK4599 also the Bible says treat ur slaves well because slavery was a large thing at the time
Are you telling me homosexual behavior is not...
You case you missed it, that's discrimination. The whole separate but equal thing. Yeah, you can't do that.
Cause that's what we humans should do when we don't like something
Yes religion is bigoted! Christians live your life and leave others alone! You just can't do it can you!
calling someone a bigot when all they are saying something is wrong is bigoted.
The real problem is people cant hear others opinions without getting upset people should all have the same rights no special rights for special people
@@hanj31 no it's not cause it's not wrong lol wtf
@iamemiliodelgado You're right that he would be a terrible father to a gay kid. I also don't wish any other gay person physical harm or mental agony as a result of assholes like Rick Santorum. But, it would force him to actually try to recognize the truth that being gay is not a choice and can't be taught to somebody.
I'm writing a paper on prejudice based on the first half of this video!
He was right.
Pierce loves the word "bigot" doesn't he
Yep he does
The old testament doesn't apply? So the 10 Commandments don't apply? The Genesis story doesn't apply? You cannot pick and choose like this. The truth is, you do not get your morals from the Bible, rather you pick from the Bible what you like based on your own morals that you already have.
@united101usa May I ask where you are getting this information?
YOU SAID "I'm so confused, they either have all the rights or not, as a tiny fetus, or a homosexual adult." I SAY You can lose your rights, your freedom, all the way up to your life as a youth or adult in a number of legal ways since the beginning of law. I want to believe you are aware of morality... aren't you?
Rick Santorum is disgusting. What a horrible excuse for a man. He is essentially saying the rape, in some way, is a good thing, a 'gift'. Terrible.
@tytheeman20
Biologically speaking, homogenital acts are acts of mutual masturbation.
That literally made no sense.
Exactly even if God was real which God there's 100s if not 1000s nice there's other intelligent people
I fear Rick Santorum will be elected president eventually.
He is in the cult.
@stevesmithjr52
I didn't say anything about the constitution.
@tytheeman20
How does someone know if they are "truly gay"?
Are you admitting that there are those who aren't gay and who yet suffer from same sex attraction?
Should those who are not "truly gay" be made to suffer unhappiness from same sex attraction with no recourse to a clinical option for treating it just because LGBT activists hate reparative therapy?
That doesn't sound fair at all. In fact it sounds like a human rights abuse.
This guy has an excellant perspective, minus the religous nonsense.
@tytheeman20
You're right, same sex attraction isn't a choice.
1:50 uses the arguments based on the Bible
3:40 uses the argument based on biology
Typical conservative, rights for me but not for thee.
Isn't there One race called humankind
Not everyone wants America should b run policy on religion.
@tytheeman20
Religion doesn't dictate reality and our discussion is not one of religion.
@lost686girl
People who are addicted to objectively disordered sexual behavior are not fit to be the parents of orphans.
People who are addicted to objectively disordered amounts of alcohol are also unfit to be the parents of orphans.
Gay activists fighting to impose intolerance and discrimination against people and organizations that hold fast to the biological facts of sexual anatomy and reproductive cells.
Have you ever gone back over posts you made; to see the manor you interact with people? I've done this myself, that is been head-strong on an issue I believe in, to the point I start to blame unknown people for not having "common scene" while leaving them in a place that if they don't like, it's "there problem" instead being creative and offering constructive criticism towards positive action. How many people do you think you've changed opinions? just saying..Wise as snakes.. Innocent as doves!
Piers Morgan is a terrible interviewer. Can't stand the guy.
that is if he becomes president which i highly doubt
@tytheeman20 why would you wish that onto someone? of course Santorum says he'll still love em, but come on now, he'd probably send that son away if he was under 18 and then cut him off. I wouldn't wish that onto any kid, gay kids go through enough growing up, adding this nutjob as a dad would be horrible.
""YOU"" SAID "38:9 "Onan disobeying a direct order of God." I SAY If you really can't see it after reading that I find myself exhausted her in. It really is to bad so many people are "not able" to apply Eph 1:17 in their lives it's truly sad. I'm not saying you can't in totality no one can. I am saying It has made this exchange pointless. I don't see continuing this exchange as helping anyone. It can embarrasses Christianity. Let's quit as disagreed. Thank you.
YOU SAID "the bible ..specifically talks about slavery.. I SAY-Slavery is like Judges. God clearly did not want man to have Judges as God ultimately does that; but man chose to have judges. God then started giving instruction on how to be a good judge. I don't think He likes slavery or Judges, but it's what man chose to do with free will. As to your other point. I have not found a scripture to date that I could not find a literal application for. Picking & choosing is very dangerous.

And your comment is relevant how?
YOU SAID "I dont understand it...you acknowledge that the paradox... I SAY I don't understand how gravity holds me on the ground but it's obviously real. Just because a Christian does not understand, or is not capable of explaining every detailed question you have about God, does not in ANY WAY make God less real. It's not anyone's responsibility but your own to challenge the reality of God in your life. It's like gravity, we can chose to ignore, or make fun of it, but it's still there unseen.
Accept gravity exist God doesn't
