What ppl generally do who can't ping ball is they shift their all weight forward but for a perfect ping you need to tilt back and hit ball while your body is in forward motion . Plus don't try to kick faster , focus on having good connection on bottom of ball and on your your posture and you will definitely see good results .

How do you keep the knee from getting injured in a lateral motion while still trying to not hit the foot at a face on impact, but a side laces impact?
If you don’t get it a simple explanation Kick the ball with your foot touching he side of whatever leg is better for the side your kicking on then drag your foot in the ground like scraping in but sideways and aiming up

I will say make sure your positioning is right to start with. Work on your legs strength and jumping so that you can jump higher giving yourself a better chance saving these shots. Also like you said ensure to work on your footwork to be able to make many more saves but to also help you make this type of save. Also improve reaction time to be able to react to the shot a lot faster making you have more time to work a save.

Go for a straighter run up and try to hit the ball in the centre to avoid the ball from curling. You may get a little curl and that's fine. Hit the ball a little higher since you are striking the ball too low making the ball curl.
SAVE How to know which direction a person will kick when the striker is close to shooting the ball? I first let the person shoot, then look at the ball and then save which is not effective, is there any way to fix this?
Well you don't ever really know where someone will shoot. You can always have an idea but that won't save every shot. You need good reactions, diving and positioning to save most shots

You might tell me to inculcate more footwork but most of the time I feel stuck and only end up jumping.

To get height you need to hit lower down on the ball, "get under the ball more".

Both. Fatigue then prevents you from using fluent technique. Defiantly more of a strength thing.
