Been watching the last few weeks as ive just started my first season for my local pub, First half of the season I was lost after a few shots but since watching finally starting winning games. Thank you so much 😃
Wow, thats amazing. Hope it continues!
Thanks for doing these Mick, and I’m pleased to hear you mention you are going to do a video for aiming with side spin, something I always struggled with, can pot pretty good but as soon as I use any English I tend to miss a hell of a lot more 🤷♂️😢😂🎱🎱🎱🎱🎱
Yes. Will do.
Just got back into pool about 1yr ago , used to play when i was a teenager. These videos are helping a lot in understanding the game better 💚👍
Glad you are enjoying them. Plenty more to come.
Thanks for the videos mick. Very generous of you to share your expertise and knowledge with those of us looking to improve to a good standard
You’re welcome
You are awesome mate. You should cover aiming systems and straight cueing fundamentals including a proper grip, stance etc.
on the list already to cover. 👍
A little surprised that UK pub tables still have a smaller cue ball, seemingly so it can return when potted, here in Australia the tables I play on have a magnetized cue ball of the same size that the table can ‘let through’ when potted.
Yes. Not sure it will ever change though.
Brilliant job as always mick, really nice of you top pros giving back to the game 👍
My pleasure
Loving these videos Mick. Just a question what size tip do you have? I think mines around 7.5-7.8mm tip I feel good potting with side spin, back spin etc but because it is so thin I feel like it has to be perfect and then miss some shots and / or out of position. I’m only been playing in comps for a year or so.
Would you recommend going up tip size wise?
please ask at the up coming live Q&A
Hi mick loves these videos😊😊Hoping you can do some cueing off the cushions a shot I always struggle with full length of the table 🙏😊😊
A few have asked similar, so we've added it the list of things to cover 👍
Did you pot the 8 ball Mick 😂 tricky that
👀
Yessuh
Do you do in person lessons?
Not so much nowadays due to time commitments, but we are looking address that in the near future.
@@mickthemachinehill I'd dearly like to attend those
I can play that shot no bother, then miss the 8 ball 😂
🤣
Call me silly but the new 8 ball with the black and white stripes is harder to aim. If I need to aim at the slice of the 8 that is near the interface of black/white I find it harder to see the angle
@dnbmania I'm not sure whether it's harder to aim or not but I have no idea why they made the change to the format of the black ball colouring.
Great video Mick. Love the detail in all your videos and the lines on the table showing what you do in each shot. Looking forward to the tutorial on potting with spin and aiming points👏🏼
Thank you.
iv been playing 6 months and already playing in tournaments and got trials for my county in under 18s. you are my favourite player appreciate all your videos helping me get better and better. thankyou the best player in the world, Micheal hill
Great to hear! Keep up the practice.
Quality shooting mick. And this style of pool shows you never have to go crazy with ball when screwing back. I remember watching another local guy who I like to watch and learn from years ago. Scott Higins what always seemed to find shots that didn't look possible. It great you and the likes Hendry are sharing there talets now to world. Can't fault you.
Thank you. Glad you like them.
@@mickthemachinehill brilliant work mate
🙌🙌🙌🙌
I love a screw shot with side. I can get alot of side with these shots. Sometimes(most of the the time lol) too much. I would probably hit the yellow near mid or hit the gap down to the black. My shots either look amazing or terrible lol
Hard shots to execute.
Your tips are up there with my favorites pool school break from life Jasmin ouchen
thank you!
That line changes with speed? Does it tighten it like a bankshot?
I guess so yes
awesome mick great channel🎱
Thank you kindly
Played for years, and still learning, love the vids Mick, keep em coming 👌
Good to hear
The thumbnail wording is umm... never mind 😂
Great refresher on application of side and screw back
I have trouble with side, and would elevate my game higher tbh 😢
Again, amazing positional play. I can play the standard screw but I know if I play 8 o clock then likely to over hit it and hit one of the yellows or rattle the cue ball!
Keep practicing, it will come.
up
Mick, when putting side on the cue ball how do you position the cue with your back hand so that the cue ball doesnt jump off to the side? That is one thing that i struggle with. Cheers
We have some videos lined up on this very subject. Stay tuned.
When you are playing the shot with sidespin, do you have to adjust your aim from when you played it with backspin only? Great video series Mick, thanks.
Yes, we will cover this off in a future video.
@@mickthemachinehill Looking forward to that one!
Throw?
Also commonly known as deflection. He hinted he would cover that in another video. I'm looking forward to that one. Apparently, carbon fibre shafts reduce throw/deflection but I've never used one. If Mick or someone else could enlighten us that would be appreciated.
yes, we will cover this off in a future video. Stay tuned!
@@mickthemachinehill Shouldn't it be covered when ever recommending side? Beginners practicing your shot would be wondering why there missing pot, wouldn't they?
Great video Mick many thanks 👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it
explain how get to know the exact position the natural 6'o clock spin takes the white to and how you know the angle the white ball throws to with the different high/low cue ball aiming
The angle of incidence is equal to angle of reflection
yes, we can go into more detail on future videos.
Where was your utube channel when I started 🫤love ya work Mick👍🏼 long overdue but here you are😁🍻
better late then never eh?
