Hey Justin, this is a legit question raised by the viewer's post: Is there any data that shows that if/when UA-cam Creators explicitly state things in their video intros like "Be sure to like, comment and subscribe below...." your subscriber count substantially increases? Because it feels to me in this day & age that these suggestive phrases and directives have become so common and defacto part of most videos posted, that by now viewers have literally heard these phrases thousands of times if not tens of thousands of times, and I know for me they are so overexposed as to have become equivalent to static noise I want to tune out and fast-forward over. Have you or any of your colleagues run an experiment for a week or 2 whereby you have ZERO INTRO MARKETING and you just get to the actual content, then at the end perhaps use the cordial method of "if you found this video helpful please like, sub---- etc" ? I know that all power UA-camrs are very data-driven to goose up ad views and revenue, and that's totally fine and your prerogative. A lot of times the "gut perceptions" of average viewers is actually wrong --- and maybe in fact the data is very clear that by explicitly making those "like/subscribe" requests, you substantially increase your revenue. It would be helpful to know. Thank you.
If you transcribe your videos and upload them to UA-cam, don't forget to add the transcription as closed-captioning. It helps with search results in UA-cam and makes your videos better for people who have hearing problems (or who want to watch without the sound).
@@nitikumar9867 Sorry I'm just seeing your comment. I sometimes faced this problem maybe when the audio was not clearly decipherable. Maybe try turning up the volume or holding the phone closer to the source. Also, try force closing the app and restarting or restarting the phone all together. It can be rather finicky, so don't count on it when on deadline. But it worked most of the time for me. If worse comes to worst, you just gotta go old school and type it out. I hope this helped.
Temi is amazing. The first transcription was free, was an intense 36 minute interview with very technical electronic terms, and I saved hours of manual transcription time. The second interview transcription cost $4.50 for a 45-minute interview, also contained very technical terms, and saved me hours of manual transcription. I'd say the accuracy is between 80 and 90 percent, which is adequate for me, considering the terminology being used. A great recommendation! Thanks.
In short, I love you. You have likely just saved me a couple of weeks of my time which is simply invaluable. I am very grateful. I have been putting these transcribing projects off for a very long time and was blocked and I can see now why, because there was going to be something amazing like this that could do it for me.
Thank-you so much, for producing such an efficient and informative video. No fluff, dumb effects, cheesy jokes.. just awesome and useful information! You're amazing at this. Keep it up. Thank you!!!!!!!!
I want to do transcriptions but idk how i would go about doing it. Or how it works exaclty with the cc/subtitles. What does that person who wants the transcription send you and how do you edit it. Do some want just text on a word doc or on videos if they send it.
Merci
I just used your method of output from video on ipad to mic input on iphone running Evernote. I was working on a blog post from video with about 500 words. I had to break it down to about 4 sections but the transcription was fairly accurate.
I was using Kapwing but have now switched to Descript. They are both equal as far as turning my words into text. Neither of them can transcribe "G'day" which is a small frustration. But Descript is much easier to correct errors. Cheers.
My favourite is DESCRIPT. Been using it for a while and it works wonders for me!!! Everything under $10/Month. It even has a desktop app which makes it even easier. It lets you export FCP, PREMIER PRO and Adobe audition format along with other audio and subtitle formats. Although the accuracy is somewhere close to 95% (For my non-native accent) It gets the work done pretty nicely for me.
Thank-you for a very informative video. I was looking for software other than premier pro I could download on to my local PC and manage. Do you have any other suggestions. We were using Otter but it has too many security issues so looking at something we can use on our local PC and not in the cloud. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Im not sure if you showed in the video but im trying to copy words from wevideo onto my next video. like if if i used the wevideo to add words to my video. how do I get those words onto a new video.
I haven't really tried using Google for translating speech to text, but Google is surprisingly good at voice commands such as, "OK Google. Drive me to Kudardup." It got the spelling right, but it's not in Google's spell checker. Popanyinjng confuses it, it gets it right about half the time.
I greatly appreciate your experience and life training you have been consistently sharing with each of us here on UA-cam! This has been a question answered for me I have had for over 2 years! I've spent hours of researching with a team of about 5 people searching this subject and you explained more information with greatly clarity in just a few minutes everything we have researched! Thank you so much! I will definitely share this video with others! In my field, this question comes up a lot!
Temi and sonix are good. Surprisingly Google voice did a very bad job. One reason could be that it's processing in real-time where as temi and sonix take a few minutes to process. Anyway, great video!
Hi Justin, I am mind blowed by your video insights, I am wondering if those platforms Speechmatics /Adobe Premier Pro can translate from other different languages than just English? In other words, are these platforms transcribing tools just for the English language videos or can be used for different languages?? Thanks
Great video, already linked it to a ResearchGate forum. I have a question: how does Digital Anarchy Transcription compare between the Premiere Pro plugin and the web version option?
I just use SubtitleEdit program for Windows, transcribe video, fix subtitle, auto translate inside program, fix translation and export subtitles to srt 😎 Transcrabe with SubtitleEdit is little less accurate than UA-cam one but still it it okay 👍.
Thank you for your video! Do you know if you are able to use Transcriptive to also make blog posts? I need to be able to transcribe my videos to create subtitles and blog posts. Thank you!
Hello everyone, could you please recommend a good audio to transcript, but for other languages, not English. Everything seems to work for English and I need to make it work the other way around. Thanks
ohh!! thank you so much. You saved my life. I am working on a master thesis and while doing with qualitative studies, i ran out of time to do transcription manually. Also its extremely boring and time consuming work. Now i have decided to use temi. Its really cheap compare to all others. Thankyou again.
this video literally saved my ass. needed to transcribe a 2-hour interview and now all I have to do is edit it. used temi. the first time was free and I loved it!
Thank you! That was super helpful for me. Especially the part about using the google drive program to transcribe on a desktop. It was actually what I was looking for!
Great coverage of many options for transcribing. I've also used a Wordpress plugin that lets you enter a UA-cam video URL to get the video source to transcribe but the purpose of the plugin is for marketing activities. Justin, are you aware of any Wordpress plugins that do transcribing?
Ha ha ha. This is an actual quote from our first attempt at the free Google Doc microphone method you recommend at the end: "you want to bring back cereal if you're going to use Facebook at all for marketing I really recommend running the Facebook pixel find out who's coming to your site and Gathering that ass and you can use it in your ass"
Thanks Justin. After doing my own transcriptions manually for most of our 89 videos and youtube tool for the rest, I have been waiting to find a decent service. I Just ran a 2 minute free test on speechmatics using some audio with terrible echo. The acid test. And it came out surprisingly accurate. So I have just paid for the Transcriptive plugin using your affiliate link. Thanks again.
Hi Justin. I tried Rev and Temi yesterday and both gave good results - many thanks! I've been looking on the internet for more information about captions on Facebook. I have uploaded the file and the captions appear when I use Facebook on my computer. However, when I watch the videos on the mobile app (Android) they don't appear. Do you know if there is a workaround for this and/or IOS? Thanks.

Great, but can't we just type it on screen ourselves? I'm a beginner on iMovie; this is what I would think of doing first. I transcribe for a living; this would be easy for me to do... Am I missing something?

Hi
I used to use the Google Docs method when I was a news reporter. Saved me a ton of time logging interviews.
the recording stops after about 20 seconds. did you not face that challenge? pls tell me. i have an urgent work to turn around.
