Man, how the campus has changed. As you know, in our day the CUB had both a pool and bowling alley. I took bowling sophomore year for my Phys Ed credit.
    My residence each year:
    1. Frosh- Paul Hall. Ugh! My roommate flunked out after J-Term, so I had my own room spring semester.
    2. Sophomore- Patrick
    3. Junior- off campus with 5 friends. Best year ever. We had a big backyard and threw good bbq's and parties. Drank copious quantities of Yuengling beer. 🍺
    4. Senior- a single suite in Patrick (with my own bathroom/shower). That's the way to live!

    Gettysburg alum here (1980-1984).
Very nice tour of the campus with nice historical info.I never knew D. Eisenhower ran Camp Colt in Gettysburg.
McCreary Hall- all sciences there now(except physics)
    Masters- Physics bldg
Musselman Library- completed my first year. Students volunteered and carried many thousands of boxes of books from the old library!
The apartments in the Quarry are the newest of the residence halls (and considered the nicest). Lots of open/airy common rooms with better natural light. I've stayed there for reunions.
Gettysburg College is facing declining enrollment, as are many liberal arts colleges. Gettysburg owns many properties around campus, and will likely need to sell some to reduce its footprint and lower maintenance costs. The current President indicated he wants practically all students to reside on campus. All this part of the college's need to reduce costs.
There has been talk of a possible merger/alliance with another nearby school- either F&M or Dickinson. I can't fathom how that would be possible logistically, as Dickinson is 25 miles away. Can Gettysburg afford to run frequent shuttles 50 miles roundtrip so students could take a class there? Seems unlikely. Would shared classes all be given online/remotely?
Gettysburg shut down The Gettysburg Review, which caused an uproar of dissent by many alumni. Sadly, more serious cuts are coming. Academic depts are being trimmed and combined. Fewer visiting/adjunct professors are being hired, which adds to the workload of tenured staff.
Check out www.gettysburgian.com for in-depth articles on the college's finances and future direction.

@@thecynicalintrovert I was feeling nostalgic as classes begin 8/26 for GBurg. I did a YT search and found your video. Well done- I enjoyed it.
I remember how nervous I was in August 1980. I was a kid from NYC going to a small rural/suburban campus. What was I thinking?🤦‍♂ Lol!
