    A very interesting video! As a very mature student, the only thing I don't lack is time! But unfortunately, I miss everything else. The basics, concentration (3 seconds), articulation and much more. But I will treasure your indications! Congratulations as always! Thank you

      Consider doing meditation of something like that.

      Thank you Mauro! 🙏 (by the way, concentration is a muscle you can train a little more each day! 😂)

      @@EmilyBeynonflute Good metaphor, but of course it is not a muscle, but an unconscious part of the brain, which the conscious part must train. See yourself as the person on the horse and your unconscious brain as the horse that needs to be controlled. The word ‘management’ means leading the horse with your hand, ‘bridle’ it. That’s what we do in all skills training. Even a simple flute amateur like me does is when doing exercises.

    Thank you very much. Very happy to see that this is how I work, but very effective, because I send the video to my students and they have to draw out the basic ideas and write them down.

    Hello Emily! Thanks for your videos! What do you think about praticing sitting on the chair? Thank you very much for your advice

    • @EmilyBeynonflute
      @EmilyBeynonflute  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Dora, put the chair in the same angle as the feet when standing (roughly 45 degrees)! Also keep both feet in the ground for stability. Good luck!

    When do you decide to give up on standard fingerings in a difficult passage (especially in the third octave) and use special fingerings (like left hand harmonics) instead?

    • @EmilyBeynonflute
      @EmilyBeynonflute  4 роки тому +1

      Good question!! For me it really depends on the time constraints... i.e. how soon is the concert! I need plenty of time to teach my fingers whichever way I choose (and to spend time on improving the tone on ‘special’ fingerings) so probably sooner rather than later. OR I practise BOTH!

    Heel nuttig. Belangrijk advies: maak geen fouten, want dan onthouden je spieren de foute bewegingen.
