We would paint it the same as our basecoat - a portion of it stained and a portion of it orange. You can do this while it is taped off and you are basecoating.

I use a frixion pen. It erases with heat
Kari swears by those. She has used them for years on her planners, but we've never thought to use them on our projects!!!
Is that round crilcle mdf board or wood? I don't think you can stain mdf, but under your information, it links you to a mdf round board.
It is MDF. You can definitely stain it! We will occasionally use stain when we are going for a wood grain background on MDF.
