Probably the most unique Kanohi in whole universe
it would be cool to see it phycoanalize some goody two shoes hero, tricking some kind-hearted matorin to betray his people or test the resolve of a weathered wanderer on a mission.
It really warms my heart to see other Bionicle creators. I’m working on my own Toa Team and one of its members is a Toa of Shadow. Unlike the vast majority of those with the Shadow element who are not Makuta he didn’t have his Light stolen. Instead he was a none feral Vorox that was granted the element by accident. Not knowing how to control his new powers and not wanting to cause trouble he asked the Toa for help and while they were suspicious of him at first they ended up accepting and training him to become a member of a team.
Yes my favorite mask!
I always wondered why Makuta had a need for this mask when he can literally read minds at all times. Happy 2k!
Reading minds is not really the same as uncovering someone's inner darkness. The mask also has additional powers that would benefit a Makuta especially in combat.
@@amajanuitales Maybe... It's just weird how Teridax got outsmarted by Vakama in Time Trap despite all of this. He couldn't find out where the mask of time was, how did he mess that up with all the powers he had?
@@Makutros it's not easy to find a mask that's been at the bottom of the ocean for a while. Keep in mind that Teridax recently just got broken out at this point. When he went to look for the mask, all he found was Vakama (since Vakama was knocked out by Voporak who also took the mask from him). Even with all the powers he has, there wasn't really enough "time" for him to get the mask before Voporak and Vakama found it.
@@amajanuitales What I meant is he had Vakama right in his grasp. He had his mask of shadows as well as his mind reading powers and yet he went out of his way to create a giant illusion that was supposed to trick him to just say out loud where the mask of time is. Were the Rahkshi powers not established then, was it an oversight by Greg, is Teridax still dizzy or is there an actual reason why he messed something so simple up?
@@Makutros I would imagine that Vakama would be unwilling to reveal that information even with mind reading unless he was tricked into doing so. Whatever the case, all Teridax knew was the mask was already taken by Voporak. Whatever method Teridax would have used to get that information, it would just lead to the same answer that the mask was already stolen from Vakama.
So Amaja-Nui is going to cover the most sinister mask of the Matoran Universe.........
This Kanohi is crackin’!
It seems like a cool mask at first but the Makuta restriction severely holds it back. Most of its powers overlap with the Makuta's existing abilities, making them redundant. Its only unique power is to see the morality of others, which is pretty meh for all the hype around the mask.
I think it is advantageous for the mask to prevent non-Makuta users from using it. It makes the mask exclusively for the Makuta and prevents other beings from abusing it. Additionally, the mask would allow a Makuta to use two different abilities simultaneously. For example, they can use one of their 42 Kraata powers while also using the mask's Shadow powers at the same time. It ultimately makes a Makuta more powerful and more dangerous.
@@arcahmwinters70 It wasn't really recognized as a symbol of "who's in charge of the Brotherhood" until after Teridax's takeover. Before that, Miserix was the leader of the Brotherhood and he wasn't given the Kraahkan, but rather a Mask of Mutation. That's because the original intention of the Makuta was not plotting evil schemes, but to create Rahi and Flora to populate the Matoran Universe.
Honestly? The Kraakhan seems like an incredibly useful mask for a Toa. It's like the Kanohi Rode that Axxonn has, but beefed up by a *lot*.
I've always wondered why the movies made this mask look so different from the figurine.
The movie’s mask was apparently based on the mask’s prototype since production on the movie was very early on.
@@amajanuitales hmm, I wish they hadnt changed it
It's been 20 years since I first watched it and that's still my biggest problem with the movie. But at the same time I also have trouble imagining how a set-accurate mask of shadow would look and still be as intimidating.
They gave makuta evil masks and expected them to not become evil, what could possibly go wrong?
It's funny you say that because the Makuta's masks aren't inherently evil at the beginning. It wasn't until they betrayed Mata Nui and became known as evildoers when the masks themselves got called immoral and evil by Toa.
@@amajanuitales Manipulation of negative emotion and ability to see "inner darkness" does sound like something inherently evil tho.
@@mehwhatever9726 perhaps but it would really come down to how the user uses it and whether they use it for good or evil.
Think that point is really driven home by the fact that there is a mask of mind control, which violates the targets free will but is considered moral.
@@mehwhatever9726 It allows one to see the negative intentions of others, which would be good for policing high-ranked individuals or identify potential traitors. Assuming "fear" is one of those emotions which could be manipulated, it could also be used to deter hostile beings by forcibly cowering them into ceasing their hostilities.
The existence of a mask of shadows and light implies there are masks of fire, or air, and so forth
Well, there's already a mask of gravity.
Shadow and Light are both highly important elements and their masks are one-of-a-kind, both being made by Artakha himself. Technically speaking, there is at least one elemental mask in the form of the mask of Gravity, but this is a notable exception. However, in G2, the Toa's masks all are based on their elemental powers.
I need to get the pearl gold kraahkan to complete my collection (movie, regular, flat gold)
I think I’ll just leave that Kanohi Kraahkan where it was if I were you
Riddle me this Teridax-
Why would You even CONSIDER recovering the Kanohi, when You could no longer use it, becuse You wouldn't have a physical body anymore?
Just a thought.
My presumption is that he wanted Icarax to retrieve it and wear it as a way to provide him additional advantages in combat. After all, all of the Makuta were going along with Teridax's plan, and it would be an additional tool for Icarax to use. If Teridax was ever to obtain a new body, he will certainly ask Icarax for the mask back, and Icarax will comply. It would be a waste if that mask just sat at the bottom of the Silver Sea when it can be put to good use with a loyal follower who actually has a body.
@@amajanuitales But then he sent Icarax to Karda Nui to be disintegrated.
@@kendrajade6688 Icarax came there on his own accord and he was later killed by his fellow Makuta since he was disrupting Teridax's Plan. Icarax never witnessed the Energy Storms of Karda Nui since he was killed before they happened.
@@amajanuitalesut wasn't Icarax summoned to Carda Nui with the other Makuta and just initially choose to ignore it? I thought Terridax planned on the destruction of all other Makuta to remove them as threats to his power.
@@jamesmclemore9123 Yes, Icarax initially did not want to go despite being summoned by Teridax. However, he later did decide to go on his own accord. I do not think Teridax expected Icarax to be killed before the energy storms. If I remember correctly, Teridax would have liked to retrieve his mask back somehow, but by the time he had taken over the Matoran Universe, he didn’t really need it anymore. He was literally the universe at that point, why worry over a tiny mask of darkness?
only makuta speice are only one who can use the mask
Can I ask for video Who was Johmak please?
We will do Johmak in the future
@@amajanuitales thank you
