  • Soil health is hugely influenced by the soil microbial community. The importance of microbial community includes nutrient cycling, nitrogen fixation, organic matter decomposition, and soil structure formation. Microbial populations and community structure are affected by soil properties and management practices. This Digital Cafe featured Eric Anderson and Benjamin Kwadwo from Michigan State University who discussed an on-farm project that examined the effect of soil texture, crop rotation, and tillage on microbial populations and communities across Michigan farms.
