@@djmarshmellow431 The cap has zero impact. It increases each year, contracts move around easily, and you can get any player you want and be under the cap. Look at the 49ers, Eagles, Dolphins, and any other talented team

@@djmarshmellow431This comment is evidence you have no idea how this works! The Chargers are obviously gonna let Bosa and Williams go, which saves them roughly 22 million in cap space and Derwin will probably be restructuring or cut which will save another $10/$12 million in cap space! I do agree that there are holes on this team , moreso than people think and I've been a Chargers fan for 42 years so I get there's a lot of work to be done but Harbaugh is the first legitimate coach Herbert has had in the NFL! Harbaugh gives the Chargers instant credibility!

The thing about Harbaugh is that he has always done things his way without any regard for what is popular in coaching circles, which is why some consider him to be an "outsider". This is EXACTLY what the Chargers need, someone who knows the system that he will be teaching like the back of his hand, someone who will preach accountability at every turn, and someone who will not simply do things on the field because it is what the rest of the league is doing (Staley and his going for it on 4th down, Cover 2 soft shell escapades).

It might take a year for Harbaugh to get the team looking the way he wants it to, but if the Chargers aren't in the playoffs by the 2025 season, you'll just have to conclude the Chargers are cursed in some way.

well if its anything like his tenure at michigan, he'll get smoked by his rivals for the first five years and be nonexistent in the postseason, a veritable laughing stock. if they give him about eight years it might amount to something. might need to lift the salary cap too
