as a medicel toy persheinel i've seen weres ingereys it's one ear to so back on and one leg nothing to complcated and the fall can't heret a toy they have no bones or even a brain they don't even need to eat.
"our daughter being sad over us made us into dolls" "...we should definitely make her sad again, because reenacting the steps that led to a disaster reverses the disaster" "we are smart"
I've watched CaptainSparklez play this and he kept mocking the daughter for not realizing for hours that something's horribly wrong with her parents. So basically, all three were complete idiots, and deserve each other.
@@skvaderarts7009 I meant the fact she ignored both parents being unconscious for many hours and didn't even consider calling emergency services. I mean I realize it's for the sake of the plot, but kinda makes sense, with these parents, you couldn't even expect them to teach a kid to call emergency services if something is obviously wrong.
Me and my brother played through "it takes two" together. We had done some pretty immoral things in that game, but we both had to set the controller down for a bit after killing cutie. I think Cutie's death should be number one in darkest video game moments. Not because it was particularly dark, but because they asked the player to do it. They didn't do it in a cutscene or have you just push a single button. They made you rip off the leg and ear before throwing this adorable little elephant off a high shelf all while she's crying and BEGGING you not to kill her.
Cutie’s death traumatized everyone, begging for her life in the saddest little voice ever only makes it 1000 times worse, only for her being horribly ripped apart to make it one of the most painful things I’ve ever seen in my life…
There are more posts of Cutie than anything else in this thread. Nothing is more pathetic, sad and disturbing than for a person begging for their life. Too many times in real life there’s stories of people being destroyed without mercy by an unfeeling and cruel person. Cutie’s death is too real life for some people....
Watching Cutie die as you tear parts of her body off by force to later cherish it when your daughter starts to cry is one of the most darkest scenes I have ever seen in a game. These parents seriously need help. XD
Considering they were more worried that they were turned into dolls by their crying child rather than WHY explains why some people should be fired out of a cannon. At a brick wall.
@@TimedRevolver I am pretty sure that 99% of people would be more worried by they being turned into dolls, as in the level of danger and problems that is way WAY higher over just trying to figure out why. Lets say you are suddenly droped in the middle of the ocean with a phone that can get you 1 call and 2 options, one is to get help, and the other to find out why you are in the middle of said ocean, what would you chose? You can fix the why once your life is safe, but you cant do anything if you die. Priorities.
@@neomix3 you see, a phone with an option to get help is a certainty. Tearing a kids beloved toy to bloody pieces, just cause "we are toys because she cried, we might turn back if she cries again" is not... If your example was two options, find out why or possibly (and I can't stress this enough, possibly) get transported back to safety, I'd chose the former over the later.
@@embisch Yeah, especially since parents would have been the ones who had to go rescue that toy and make sure it was with their child for years. If anyone knows how much kids care about their favorite toy, it's their parents. You'd have to be incredibly narcissistic and cruel to go with this instead of trying any other tactic first (like I don't know, cut an onion up)
That Cutie scene is fucking brutal, at least Cutie got stitched back up, but still, that will always be in my nightmares. I am honored to know that this comment has alleviated people's fears about Cutie, truly, it has made me know that I was not the only one to be shivering after witnessing Cutie's depressing (apparent) demise, thank you.
Poor little one, first thing I learn about this new game is that it's disturbing. I honestly didn't know the first time around why a game like that would be considered disturbing, especially when the only thing that describes it's general concept as disturbing is the divorce subject, until they showed footage of Cutie dying. Yep, I can now say it's dark to the extreme...😢🪦
@CrystalTheCandyDemon During the credits we see her sitting on what looks like the parents' bed, she's next to a sewing kit with her ear and foot stiched back up,atleast they did actually fix her at the end so less trauma For Rose lol
With "It Takes Two", do you think that, years later, after they've been turned back to normal, the parents occasionally look at the now repaired Cutie and remember the horrible things they did that day? Because I hope they do. Everything about that situation was messed up, and I hope it freaking haunts them!
I played the game with some friends. They literally warned me that there was a scene that would upset me. I was still not prepared. The only reason I kept playing was because I had fun with my friends
I've never heard of "It takes two" but for my own mental well being, I'm choosing to believe that Cutie gets repaired and I'll accept no other intake. Thank you.
Okay, I know Cutie dying was gripping, harrowing, and morbid, but 14:40 where Andy admits to eating Toblerone without breaking it off, and presumably in one long gulp like a snake, is horrifying. That is the _real_ horror show in this video.
I've played M rated games for years, I've watched horror movies of all kinds, I have a pretty thick skin for media. Cutie...Good God that was hard to watch. Never played it - but terrible, selfish parents in that game clearly.
I think that's kind of the point. They broke up because they were selfish. The game doesn't portray them as people who had a good reason for separating. The only reason they cooperate at all is because neither wants to be stuck as dolls. So it's generally consistent with their overall behavior.
@@marhawkman303 I think in the end, it takes two is one of those games where if I say "I don't like this game because of thing A" people will say "but the whole point of the game IS thing A". Idk about how divorce works but this game just wasn't my cup of tea.
COMPANY: How about we make a game where you slaughter a cute stuffed elephant? ME: **Kicks down door and revs up minigun** GO BACK TO THE DEPTHS OF HELL!
My reactions watching this list: Most of them: Damn, that's pretty bad Me at Cutie's death: What psychopath made this game? Me at Naru's death: _nearly cries_
What about Missile?! The poor dog has to die each time you fail, and after the first one, it’s even sadder because all Missile wanted to do was greet the killer.
Watching the numerous ways a pomeranian can naively and happily approach a stranger with a gun, despite all your best efforts to distract it from the front door to meet him, somehow gradually looped back to hilarious. It almost comes off as it stubbornly just WANTS to die :P
The fact the the parents in It Takes Two don't even think about the fact they made their own child cry again by murdering her fav toy. Like no one goes "Ooooh we are really bad people for thinking tears of sadness would fix us when it turned us into toys in the first place"
They aren't really trying to help her. They're trying to turn back to normal. That's the crux of it, their selfish needs outweighed their daughter's happiness which is why all of it happened in the first place.
Didn't realize "It Takes Two" was so dang dark. I was watching this segment, and felt upset even though I didn't play the game. My brother was literally bawling after seeing how friggin cute Cutie was (makes sense) before seeing her get mercilessly torn to pieces before getting tossed to her death. I'm gonna need therapy after this.
It takes two is about how it takes two parents to fck up your kid and two parents and a therapist to realize maybe that wasn't such a great idea. Hindsight 20/20. On a more serious note, it's a story of how the selfishness of parents can really affect their child (being so focused on their differences that they forget their common ground, a shared love for their daughter letting her end up as collateral damage), and how important it is to not only care for your family but make an effort to better your own self as a person to help you and your family both.
The Cutie murder was horrific. Probably the most horrible thing I’ve done in a game and I’ve done a lot of horrible stuff in games. I played It Takes Two with my brother and we couldn’t believe the game went through with it. We kept thinking the parents would see that their plan was beyond stupid and learn a lesson about compassion or something. Or after the fact go fix her. Nope. We were laughing so hard in uncomfortable horror and it is now our go to inside joke. That game is truly bizarre.
13:20 fun fact: there was a baboon named Jack that was trained to switch the signals at a train station in the 1880’s. he was so good at his job they made him an official employee and he worked for 9 years without ever making a mistake. so maybe that wasn’t a misconception after all haha
“A living marriage self help book with a butt for a chin and a powerfully erotic presence.” Today on sentences i never expected to hear with my poor human ears lol
i've said it before and i'll say it again. They need to make an "out of context" sentence compilation. My favorite has always been "Congratulations! You're complicit in piñata murder!"
I do not know what the writers of "It Takes Two" were thinking when writing the scene for Cutie, but they should have realized how outright evil it would make their main characters look, and they already didn't look great. Me and the friend who played it have seen and done harrowing things, in movies, video games, and tabletops, but this is one of only two evil things that have marked us for life.
I know that divorce is a harrowing subject, but if there’s one thing that makes me want to lock myself in a dark room with no ventilation and a chlorine gas bomb, it’s killing a stuffed elephant.
It pulled a South Park, in that it is seriously messed up, and that it being messed up is the main point. They go on to wash themselves with their own daughter’s tears. The parents then realize what they have done, and that it didn’t even do anything. They only start mourning for their action before the book gets them back on track to the couple’s therapy.
I’m not sure they should BE parents. “Hmm, yeah, our daughter is sad about the divorce and used her witch magic to turn us into dolls to preserve what was left of her world. I know, we should break absolutely everything she loves to fix it!”
Ah I see the devs of It Takes Two went the “you must kill the dog to continue, but you’re a reprehensible garbage man for killing the dog” route. A classic.
@@Trethan3266 I'm watching Jack Septiceye play with his girlfriend now. So far I've seen them brutally murder the vacuum cleaner God of War style. Granted, the vacuum tried to kill them first, but it was justifiably angry and they didn't have to continue the violence after disabling it. They got bloodlust up, and just went for it. They've killed some other stuff too, but not anything else that had already surrendered like that. Having seen so far, I can 100% believe these two people being capable of child abuse in the pursuit of their goals.

@@Trethan3266 oh... They did lots of stuff. Like that thing with vacuum cleaner that was described to you in the comment above. They sucked its eyes out to kill it. I mean, sucked with Vacuum's OWN HANDS (so it basically was forced to pull out his own eyeballs). Then just laughed and ran away. Then right after that horrifying act of killing Cutie, they did the worst thing ever possible: they went and literally danced in their daughter's tears when she was crying over that elephant. And after THAT didn't help them to turn back into humans, their reaction was like: oh well. Let's try something else then
Christ, I don’t think anything has gotten me closer to looking like the Doomer meme that that elephant. I’d rather play something more heartwarming, like Resident Evil or Doom

Finally someone mentions the music! Idk who composed the music, but whoever it was... if they wanted to make that scene even more traumatic, they succeeded.
@@thedreamer4222 it’s meant to really hammer in that you’re doing something really twisted to something cute, but honestly the parents literally and figuratively bathing in their daughter’s tears before getting mad at her for it not making them normal again is way more messed up and creepy. That Cutie scene jut had me rewatching over and over in some kind of shock, I haven't even played this game and yet that scene makes me feel so horrible! hearing her poor little voice so afraid is just heart-wrenching and makes me feel so bad for her! the only reason i haven't played it, and don't plan to is because I don't have anyone to play co-op with...
they cut out where the parents then go and literally dance in their child's tears and feel absolutely no remorse whatsoever (rather, anger that it didn't work)
@@sarafontanini7051 I KNOW RIGHT? the worst part is the gameplay is genuinely good, but the story hits so many wrong notes. absolutely abhorrent things they do are just completely brushed off, and the lesson it tries to push is that if you're incompatible and hate being in a relationship with someone if you ~just try~ you can simply "make it work" instead of going separate ways. smh
@@3possumsinatrenchcoat i feel like maybe they shouldn't have the plot be kickstarted by their daughter if it was gonna focus more on the parents than HER

Fun fact: there WAS an actual monkey put in charge of a train station called Jack who was paid 20 cents a day and a bottle of beer every week. Over the course of his nine year employment for South Africa he never made a single mistake
also Humans are primates old world monkeys and great apes and since he said primates and apes as well without specifying he's wrong on all counts. Humans wear ties and have a calendar system. There are plastic ball toys for humans and humans run train stations.

Cutie: being torn apart and begging for it to stop The parents: wE 1MilLioN Iq Edit: whenever I watch this vid I always skip the cutie part cause it just makes my heart break to see her die 😔 R.I.P Cutie the loving elephant. Killed by parents brutally. Died in pieces and a fall may you Rest In Peace Cutie you’ll forever live on in our hearts ♥️
Let me put Cutie's death in perspective, (or at least the events leading to it.) Imagine you have an absolutely adorable friend/sentient creature that is generally good (talking animals, sentient plant etc) and you tell you have to kill them well and say of course " I don't want to die!" And then you say , "I know, I don't want that either but," And then cock a gun and point at their face.
or just imagine a child getting slaughtered by 2 adults while she's telling them to stop and she doesn't wanna die... there's this video that's something like that featuring an australian man taking a video of a child he's torturing and ended up killing the child. he bought the child from her parents telling them she'll gonna get a good life because a white man adopted their kid not knowing that she'll be a tool for his twisted enjoyment... his name is something something scully and australians love him even after what he did because he's still australian and he only tortured an asian kid from a 3rd world country, that's what I've read from blogs n stuff I don't remember
👁👄👁 I couldn't like imagine that shit bro really? You gonna accuse a poor elephant of lying when you basically trying to kill it. You take off it's leg then it's ear. You pull a long live the king and you accused her of tricking you. How blind are you, look up you can see it's stuck.
I hate the scene but it also shows how they were selfish and ignorant to the suffering of anyone else but themselves so they never stop to think or be considerate of others. Basically Cutie was their daughter and they didn't realize what their actions were doing until what they thought was right was the worst thing that they could possibly do.
I have never played “It Takes Two” and I don’t feel like I should. Cutie reminds me too much of my sister’s two stuffed elephants and I can’t imagine anything happening to them. I’m guarding all my stuffed animals now.
The vengeful killing spree caused by goofy's apparent death via rock to the skull, is my favourite moment from kingdom hearts to try to explain to people who don't follow the franchise. The nomura stuff is basic once you get them on board with mickey mouse murder spree.
@@outsidextra I just want to say that I'm a huge fan of the Kingdom Hearts series and think that instead of this it should've been from 3 when everybody died against Terranort and Sora's resulting scream of complete and utter anguish. That whole scene really got to me, especially since Sora is usually so upbeat and it really makes you see how hopeless he feels to break down like that.
There was one from Hollow Knight that really got me. Myla, an adorable little singing bug mining for valuables who slowly loses her mind to the eldritch goddess of dreams that plagues the entire game. That one hurt, especially since I was forced to kill her in self defense after said dream goddess forced her to attack me.
Oh, I remember that bit 😭 Although, I suggested the player themself because of the "Dream no more" and "Sealed siblings" endings. Still, I was legitimately crushed at the myla bit :(
@@greyprincebidoof Ghost and Hornet are cute in design, absolutely. However, personality wise Hornet is a hardened warrior princess and Ghost literally has no personality. Myla is one of the few positive characters in the entire game, mining her life away with a song in her heart. Watching that song slowly wither from a simple working song to a song of pure despair as she loses herself to The Radiance is what makes her death much more sad than the Heroic sacrifice of Hornet and Ghost which is bitter sweet since in either instance they knowingly sacrificed everything for the future while Myla was just an innocent bystander.

Yeah the devs _tried_ to redeem the parents by showing Cutie stitched back together in credits but I press x for doubt. If you chop up a person with an axe and then stich em back together, that wouldn't really work now would it?
I love how these videos can go from my heart breaking over the sweetest being on Earth dying for no reason to me laughing myself to death over Edgy Mickey Mouse.
What makes the makes the Cutie scene worse is that it's a horrible reminder that the worst crap can happen to the most kindest, gentlest, friendliest people.
I actually hate to say it. But them killing that elephant doll had brought me tears. Even with the music. And I had seen a lot of deaths from nearly every characters.

I watched eurogamer play "it takes two" and that cutie scene was so upsetting. I really think the game should end with the parents realizing they are irresponsible parents and terrible together, and get some actual help. It seems like a game with fun gameplay but awful story and message
The ending of the game and the entire premise was beyond stupid and trite. It’s a shame because the gameplay was some of the most fun I’ve ever had in a game. In no world should they have gotten back together
@@Tinyvalkyrie410 narratively the cutie scene would have been such a natural place to turn the story on its head, the cruelty being a catalyst for actual self reflection. The book would have been better as a boss fight than ending up a treasured mentor imho. The story would still be messy, but at least there would have been an arc that made some sense Okay, rant over 😂

Why does everyone think Goofy was fucking dead?! He gets hit in the head 100s of times in the cartoons, and spoiler alert, HE WAS FINE! I don't understand how everyone magically came to the conclusion that Goofy fucking died. Even as a kid playing that game I was like "Crap Goofy got knocked out." Only time I have seen them actually die, again spoilers here, was in KH3.
I think it's more insulting that the concussion was caused by some random altercation between a minor Heartless and a minor Nobody. Now if Goofy was kidnapped by, say, Xemnas (even for just a little while), I'd have felt more alarmed.
Now I consider myself tough hearted having been through a few deaths of family members in my short 24 years but the death of cutie the elephant really tugged at my heart strings and as a result I will never play “it takes two” because I don’t think I could do it 😢
Ok, someone explained the Goofy/Pluto question to me like this: Apes and humans exist at the same time, so Pluto and Goofy just share a common ancestor.
I saw an old Disney comic where someone tells Donald they're going duck hunting and Donald freaks out and says something like "Why me? I'm domesticated!" And the duck hunter guy says "No no, I meant *real* ducks!" So I've come to think of it as there are Real and Domesticated animals in the Mickeyverse
Literally *yesterday* I did the Cutie mission with my 6-yr-old nephew, and he says to me "I don't want Beary (his teddy bear) to die." I assured him no one would harm Beary, and began to silently question my competency as an adult. 😄

How did Toroko from Cave Story not make the list? Fun thing about the Conker "war is hell" note: apparently at least one of the devs had nightmares of squirrels on fire while they were working on that part of the game
This is not what I was expecting. I wasn't expecting to hear and watch a child's voice beg for its life and then watch its torture and murder. That was terrifying. I found my mouth hanging open, staring in disbelief.
It Takes Two (the game) is just..... something else. They have lots of weird, horrifying stuff there Like the parents bathed in the tears of their child And also at the very beginning of the game, while fighting a sentient Vacuum Cleaner (who was only attacking them because they didn't take care of it at all), they DRILLED its EYES OUT.
Yeah. Weird, but Cody and May are probably the most depraved main characters I've ever seen in any video game. I've witnessed some very messed-up stuff before, like Casca's being raped by Griffith during the Eclipse in "Berserk: The Golden Age Arc - The Advent", the white phosporus attack in "Spec Ops: The Line", some of the Fatalities in "Mortal Kombat", the torture scene in "Grand Theft Auto V", Omni-Man slaughtering the Guardians of the Globe in "Invincible", the ridiculously ultra-gory deaths in "Genocyber", the scalping and bisecting execution in "Bone Tomahawk", the hacksaw kill in "Terrifier", the blood orgy in "Event Horizon", the Red Wedding and Oberyn Martell's death in "Game of Thrones", etc. But Cutie's slow, painful death in "It Takes Two" really takes the cake because, while I've seen worse like all the aforementioned, it's just senseless cruelty in every sense of the word. To elaborate: Here, you have this little girl minding her own business when Cody and May announce that they're going to kill her. That on itself is harrowing, and while the intent Cody and May might have had was to return to normal, they're only doing this to satisfy their bloated egos, not caring about Rose's mental well-being or anything that might have resulted. And sure enough, these two heartless dolts, after doing some profoundly evil things prior to this atrocity like nuking half their own garden and destroying their old vacuum by gouging its eyeballs out (sure, the vac attacked first, but still), proceed to chase down with murderous intent the poor elephant who has never done anything wrong throughout her short screen-time and was only minding her own business and being a gentle soul to everyone around her, then use a claw to grab her before violently ripping her right leg off after it gets stuck causing Cutie to trumpet in pain. Cody and May then drag her around like two killers dragging a victim down their lair and, when Cutie tries to grab hold at a needle used for sewing, Cody and May continue dragging until a pin stabs Cutie in the right ear, then keep on pulling until the ear is ripped out, with the struggling queen trumpeting in even more pain like a baby elephant that has fallen victim to a poacher's trap and, to finish it off, Cody and May kick Cutie down the ledge causing her to fall to her death. And when Rose cries at this, instead of feeling sorry for their acts, Cody and May just celebrate that they killed a living toy and made Rose cry, all in the name of their intent of ruining her life to return to normal for their own self-serving purposes, only to be disappointed since all of it turned out to be in vain. Intent or not, Cody and May simply had no excuse for them to do this. Just being cruel and trying to twist Rose's innocence so it fits their "adult" agenda in what only achieves the next: only making things worse. As such, for all this barbaric behavior, it's no wonder I was horrified when I saw this scene for the first time, to the point I exhibited a thousand-yard stare after finishing watching that scene.
It takes two is the only game that has ever made me close to crying. My friend and I played through it takes two, and after watching cuties death I put down the controller, and I sat there speechless and almost cried.
I am still crying from every actual death in Kingdom Hearts. I still can't get over Xion's death, Strelitzia's death, Vanitas' death in BBS, and many more and it's been at least a year since I saw those deaths but whenever I think about it I burst out in tears. I still cry over Roxas' line at the end of the prologue in KH2. Seeing Goofy's "death" just made me mad, Xion's was much more emotional.
I would have to say each and every single death of the main character in "Inside" was pretty damned brutal. You're just a lone boy running through a bizarre dystopian future setting, just trying to avoid getting kidnapped and killed or turned into a zombie or whatever is happening, and every time you manage to get killed it is just VISCERAL.
Goofy doesn't really count as a death cuz he returns back to the party later on. He even states that "He gets hit in the head like that a lot so it doesn't hurt as bad."
Cutie’s death not only hurts me because of the brutal pain she went through during her death but also because I have an elephant plush I’ve had since I was born and Cutie reminds me of her :,)

Then comes the chapter called "Gods of Death:" Olga leads an army to take down a weakened Asura as he recovers in the middle of Airi's home, and she brings her baby brother to him where she thinks they can be safe...too bad Olga is so desperate to kill Asura that she's about the carpet-bomb the entire area. When me and my brother were playing it we felt so bad-
Me and my brother played through "it takes two" together.
How do I relate to this so much? Me and my brother played it takes two together and after we killed her we both had to just take a moment

The more horrible thing is I'm 95% sure the cutie voice over was their daughters voice..........
The only thing that could make that scene more traumatizing is if they added more blood and gore.
Cri
Naru was sadder :(
Watching Cutie die as you tear parts of her body off by force to later cherish it when your daughter starts to cry is one of the most darkest scenes I have ever seen in a game. These parents seriously need help. XD
They got help... from a perverted book who probably got their credentials from an online tutorial
Seriously they were the worst. Poor child 😂

Yeah. Cody and May are just plain detestable.
Even Cody admits he needs lots of therapy.
This is too dark!😬😰
How’s your brother doing? And that therapy ?

The Cutie murder was horrific. Probably the most horrible thing I’ve done in a game and I’ve done a lot of horrible stuff in games. watched the playthrough of it takes two on eurogamer... poor cutie. Never forgive, never forget. They kept going "we HAVE to do this, we have NO choice" and really it was just that they decided that it'd "maybe" work so they went to murder their daughters favourite toy without even trying to think of something else!
Does death by proxy to edgy Mickey count as harrowing? I think it counts as harrowing.
What makes the makes the Cutie scene worse is that it's a horrible reminder that the worst crap can happen to the most kindest, gentlest, friendliest people.

The rest should then have pivoted to be about the child, not some dumb marriage councelling for people who were bad together. The book would have been better as a boss fight than ending up a treasured mentor imho. The story would still be messy, but at least there would have been an arc that made some sense
Okay, rant over 😂
The only saving grace in whole this is that they also individually are some of the most unlikable characters imaginable. By them staying together they at least don't inflict themselves on anyone else. Poor kid, though.

He came back a whopping 5 minutes later
No he just got brain damage

bro. are you alright?? honestly, i expect him to die and magically come back to life. because thats how disney works.

It's a good game, but seeing that scene while first playing made me... Cry, probably because I have my own elephant plush that I love.
Let’s all be honest, Cutie didn’t deserve to die.
Ok, someone explained the Goofy/Pluto question to me like this: Apes and humans exist at the same time, so Pluto and Goofy just share a common ancestor.

How did Toroko from Cave Story not make the list? I like how all the comments are about Cutie’s death. Really says something.
They have lots of weird, horrifying stuff there
Like the parents bathed in the tears of their child
And also at the very beginning of the game, while fighting a sentient Vacuum Cleaner (who was only attacking them because they didn't take care of it at all), they DRILLED its EYES OUT.
Reminder thats not a child actor and its just a game. And hilarious at that. Unforgettable choice by game devs
To elaborate:
Here, you have this little girl minding her own business when Cody and May announce that they're going to kill her.

I said it in another video, and I'll say it again: the death of Bloodwing in Borderlands 2 is absolutely tragic.
