    For a minute there, while having a grope around inside, checking the suspension pivot needle bearings, I thought you were going to say that if your finger came away all brown and sludgey that you were groping around in the wrong place... You know,... like near a chain guide or something.... Yeah, a chain guide... :)

    Nice one Del 👍
    Love the reference to the Triumph from a few years ago, raising the back end of that bike with custom dog bones proper made that bike👍
    Deffo my favourite build of yours, especially the stance and colour scheme👍
    Keep up the great work Del 'n' Pen 👍

    I love you attention to detail on all your work. Back in the early 90s I had my ZX7 GMD computracted,look it up it was really cool stuff. Anyway raising the back or lowering the front of your bike changes the way it will handle in all aspects. If you go to Radical it could give you a high speed wobble,tip in too fast when entering corners or run wide on exit. it's something to think about when playing around with things. Every adjustment will change something. I had the same problem with the chain rubbing the gard, I went up a tooth in the front and I think I added 4-5 teeth in the rear. Yeah, it was a lot to change but that bike wanted for nothing.Then you'll start thinking about spring rate and how it affects things. I'm a transmission mechanic by trade(now retired) and love adjustments sooooo I tend to run away with things. I learned a lot of this after having the bike comutracted,FUN TIMES

    Del it looks great but the proof of the pudding is in the eating. How does it feel to ride. I love how easy you make it look to machine new parts, I could never do that, but, it make me go out to the garage and try. THANK YOU>

      There's the point to it mate, go out to the garage and try! You'll be surprised what you can achieve with a bit of patience and a sense of humour!

    Great fab work as always Del. I have to think about doing the opposite on my Versys. It was tall 15 years ago when I got the bike. Now at age 72 it's like climbing on a horse. 😁🤣😂🙃 Thanks and cheers to you and Penny. ❤👍👍

    • @Moonfleet41
      @Moonfleet41  2 місяці тому

      They're never cheap mate (well at least not those that are worth trusting your life on lol), so it's a simple job to make a pair from a chunk of flat stock!

    Excellent work looks a mean stance now,
    Excuse my stupidness here, but if removed the dog bones (to grease needle bearings for maintenance ) without the jack on the swing arm how hard would it be to get the links refitted ?
    Would the swing arm jump up or down ? Or best advice,
    Look forward to rest of the build 🤙

    • @Moonfleet41
      @Moonfleet41  2 місяці тому

      If you have set the swing arm to the relevant height to remove the dog bones, just leave it there and don't move it, once you've greased them, just put them back on, same goes for the shock mount!

    An excellent tutorial
    Yes, the height is not important, as the design is.
    You raised the seat, but you already said you would also lower it with thinner padding.
    Either way, for those who want to make the change you did,
    For them I "sneaked" into your workshop
    06:23
    and measured the NEW gap between the holes at your 304SS bone: 99mm

    • @Moonfleet41
      @Moonfleet41  2 місяці тому +1

      Indeed, the new plates were 100mm centres, but that's just what it turned out to be correct on the chain run, 1mm + or - would have made little difference and, of course, I've still got to deal with the sidestand when I get to it!
