    I feel Sevens duelists are the most difficult to rank due to a lot of the back and forth nature of how the show handles its win/loss records. I feel Romin Roa and Asana are all very close together in that regard and could beleivably be ranked in just about any order, although I am confident in Roa being number three because of his phenomenal win against Yuga at the end.
    Yuga himself is a bigger victim of this than anyone. On paper, he looks pathetic with nine losses, but context is very important: He's still the guy who gets the big win at the end of nearly every arc, and gave Luke his only loss in the entire show (that one feat elevates Yuga on its own imo). Even him creating a new Sevens Road doesn't bother me because most of his best cards were unavailable to him, so it feels less like cheating and more like evening the playing field to me.
    Yuga's losses are inflated by the fact that he dueled Luke *three* times prior to beating him (nobody looks worse after losing to Luke), and being blindsided by maximum/fusion three more times. His other three losses are upsets against Romin, Tiger, and Roa, and for all intents and purposes, those duels were *big* victories for all three characters when you consider the nature of Yuga's other losses and all of the huge victories he accumulated. He may not be the best performing protagonist in the franchise (nor is he anywhere close), but I think he's extremely underrated as a duelist and I'm happy to see him at number 2.

      The one thing that bothers me me is that people get on Yuga's case for creating a new Seven Road Magician card is considered "cheating" when Luke literally created a new Dragias card out of nowhere when he dueled his dark self... And people give him a free pass.

    Ignoring the victories numbers, and considering the ability, Otes should have a place in the list, because except for the final duel he never had any true intention of defeating his opponents but to test and motivate them and use his defeats in his favor for his plot, still he possessed and mastered legendary ace monsters and had cornered to anyone who dueled him and most of his monsters were normal monsters, unlike Yuga, Luke, Gakuto, Romin and Goha Yuga, who barely defeated him, no ordinary duelist could've done much against Otes. In Yuga's childhood he witnessed Otes making his way to the finals in a tournament before being discualiffied using his Sevens Road Magician, Otes's true ace monster. In the final duel he uses his Sevens Road deck and Yuga, who adds his friends's ace monsters to his deck, had a hard time dueling Otes using his real deck. In that duel he defeated easily Yuga's friends's cards, including Yggdrago, if any of them dueled Otes and he used his Sevens Road he would've remain undefeated.

    An interesting part of Luke's strength is that we know how he became strong: training and facing stronger opponents. His skills are earned and forged thought trials. And while some people hate him, I think he was both interesting and funny, althought often over the top. That's why he's my favorite character of the show.

    Nice upload, Dylan. My rewrite for Sevens, looking at this list, could make a case to switch Yuga and Luke. Luke still could be argued to be the best in it, but my rewrite could switch them without extremely needing or buffing either.
    Also I find it interesting how Yuga went first in every other duel against Luke but looking at their first turns in Round 4, Yuga would’ve won earlier had he gone first without even needing the second Sevens Road Magician and before Luke revealed his 2nd Dragias.

    Honestly, Yuga should be ranked number 1 here. I know that his dueling record is terrible but what matters at the end is the result of the final of SEVENS, Yuga won against Luke in their final round. People called Yuga that he cheated but all he did is putting his ID card in his deck and turn it into Sevens Road Magician, it is just like he has a Sevens Road Magician in his deck like normal duel, he still need to draw it and he did it. Not to mention Yuga literally got nerfed heavily in the last match with only his Sevens Road ID card and no other aces, Luke also only use Dragigas so you can say Luke got nerfed too but at the end Yuga won fair and square, that is no cheating.

      The funniest thing is that then there are complaints that Epoch cheated in her Duels (getting a victory), especially the most recent Duel.
      However, the good Yuga has cheated twice to win against impossible opponents that he was sure to lose: The Lukeman and Luke at the end of SEVENS.

    • @SuperMophie
      @SuperMophie 9 місяців тому +2

      @@brunosanto3488 Yeah but Epoch is different, she's manipulating the dice to make a 6 while Yuga on the other hand used the ID's as proxy card which is kind of fair because you don't want to spend money for a cheap card

      @brunosanto3488 9 місяців тому

      @@SuperMophie In both cases, it's still the same thing: both characters cheated to achieve victory (or at least try to win). What's more, many people when they saw SEVENS thought that Luke cheated in several Duels (Epoch's family heritage I suppose)
      Either way, it doesn't take away from the fact that Yuga cheated in a handful of Duels: even Yuo told Yuga that he was cheating.

    At the Nail part of the video, I noticed a parallel between Sevens and Go Rush (spoilers for those who didn't watch either of these series):
    In Sevens they used people's ID cards to make maximum cards and in Go Rush, they used REAL PEOPLE to make maximum cards. I feel like it was kind of a foreshadowing for Go Rush. Like, Go Rush is the primal version of Sevens. Maybe that's why explaining the game from its very basics makes sense in this context in Go Rush.

      If they dueled based on their cards, barring Monster Reborn shenanigans, Nail would most likely win. His traps counter the sheer attack of Caliguleon by minimizing the damage or banning it from even showing up, and most of Goha Yuga's cards are about Big Attack Stats which Nail specifically plays counters to.

    • @user-ol5vm6wy9r
      @user-ol5vm6wy9r 9 місяців тому

      @@Debater this discussion isn't about who would win in a duel, but about who the better duelist is. in that case, Goha Yuga outsmarted Nail when he played a 60 card deck over a 40 card deck in his duel against Yuga and Rook.

    • @Debater
      @Debater 9 місяців тому

      @@user-ol5vm6wy9r Yeah, I realized I shouldn't have conflated the two after making the comment, and contemplated editing it several times. Even so, Nail's a very skilled and intelligent duelist, who usually dominates the duels he's in. He's only ever lost or drew either due to a pure luck perfect mill or someone literally fusing the power of three decks into one. Goha Yuga was a good duelist, he's beaten a lot of opponents in the past, but his strategy isn't really all that complex. He lowers his LP to easily defeatable range and mills a ton of cards to beef up his aces, then plays cards to buff them up even more. Even then, he usually relies heavily on Monster Reborn to finish the job. His strategy is a lot more...simplistic than Nail's, overall. Nail focuses a lot on protection and defense until he draws Yggdrago, after which he switches to protecting and reusing Yggdrago while methodically tearing down the opponent's defenses. Goha Yuga kind of just mills and mills and pays and pays until he gets a Massive Beatstick, with a bit of destruction and minor protection sprinkled into his 60 card deck.

    • @user-ol5vm6wy9r
      @user-ol5vm6wy9r 9 місяців тому

      - Flashbacks related to Otes in GO RUSH.
      - Mentions of Otes in several GO RUSH episodes despite not being the main focus.
      - The appearance of The Relic in GO RUSH.
      - The appearance of Darkness Cards, cards related to Otes.
      - The truth about the creation of Velgear and its inhabitants.

    Luke was undoubtedly gonna be number one for this list, undefeated until the last episode and even that loss has an asterisk against it. That being said, I don’t entirely agree that Luke is such a wide margin ahead, given that Yuga could have beaten Luke in their first duel, lost in the 4th duel, and completely lucked out against Roa. And since Go Rush is in the same continuity, Luke’s superiority dwindles even more compared to many Go Rush duelists. Yudias, Zwijo, Phaser, Kuaidul and even Maybe Yuhi could all absolutely put Luke in his place. Luke is only a kid after all who defeated other kids and humans. Go Rush ups the powerscaling to god level, so I have no doubt the Velgearians could easily give Luke a run for his money. This man absolutely dominated Sevens tho

    1rt - 2nd: For me Luke and Yuga are in the top 2, no doubt about it. Some people would put Luke higher, some other Yuga.
    3rd: Delan, I know you hate Otes but for the 3rd position, it could be rated Otes, a duelist that never used his real deck until the end of the series. I believe he was toying weil using the other decks with legendary cards. Though, I would also accept if somebody does not want to put him on the top 10.
    4th: Next, I would put Yuga Goha with no doubt. He was about average. He almost defeated Yuga Ohdo and was almost undefeated.
    5th: Almost at the same level than Yuga Goha, would come The Lukeman. He has the same abilities than Luke.
    From now on, it would come what are very good duelist with high strategies but do not reach the top duelists level:
    6th: For me, You Goha was a very good and feared duelist, the best of the Goha Siblings until his brother appeared.
    7th: Roa, I would not put him that high but he grew a lot at the end of the series.
    8th: Asana
    9th: Nail
    I could debate putting Roa, Asana and Nail above You Goha, but they are at a similar level.
    10th: For the 10th position, I would it leave it open because I do not know who is better between: Yuka Goha, Yuran Goha or Tiger. This 3 duelist were also great duelist. What puts this 2 Goha siblings higher than Romin and Gakuto (2 average duelists), is that they were victorius against them. Regarding Tiger, She dueled much difficult opponents and always put them in trouble. So, I might put Tiger in my 10th postion.
    And after them, I would put Romin, Gakuto and Nana Nanahoshi or the ET girls.

    I liked Luke but I honestly feel like the writers rode him too much and humiliated Yuga far too often to establish the strength of other characters. Having those very same characters defeat or even draw with Luke would still be an excellent feat; once everybody beats on Yuga, the win stops being as impressive or shocking. I definitely feel that Roa should have beaten Luke-it isn't like he didn't have the best win record amongst the characters to begin with. Yuga's wins against people who have beaten Luke are cheapened by him being the punching bag.

    Nail was done so dirty. Every major character in this show grew stronger over time, but he is the only one who completely stagnated for no reason. Worse, they made him a one trick pony. Which doesn't even make sense. How did he duel before creating Yggdrago?

    • @Debater
      @Debater 9 місяців тому +2

      He did improve as a duelist, we even see this with how he protected Yggdrago from Asana using Emergency Escape and his repeated Yggdrago Spamming, it's just that he never really felt the *_need_* to change his strategy. Yggdrago has gotten him pretty far save for one loss against a card he didn't know existed (yet still had "just in case" countermeasures for) that came down to repeated lucky draws, and a draw against Gakuto that was basically a loss in all but name. Nail destroyed Gakuto in that duel, and only a lucky mill saved the duel from being a 3900 to 0 slaughter. Nail never changed because he' kind of been doing just fine as-is (or so he thought). Yggdrago, a single, solitary boss that his entire deck's focused on, kind of represents him. He never really thought he needed anybody else, he was already the solitary type, but Asana combined the best cards of three decks in hers, and that's how she beat him. Same with Roman's development, Roa's, etc. Every character felt a need to change, so they did. Nail just...never had that.

      @@Debater Well, if only that went somewhere. After the Asana loss, I was hyped because they emphasized the fact that he was alone. And he lost Sebastian right after, so I thought we might have the greatest character arc in Sevens. But nope. Sebastian was easily fixed and Nail was just part of the group at the end.
      Also I don't think that's an improvement. He was already perfectly good at protecting Yggdrago during the second Yuga vs Nail.

      @@Debater No offense, but Kaiba, Zane and Jack Atlas (to name a few) are far better examples of spammers who developed. I also hate the fact that the writers just stopped bothering and had him draw Yggdrago on turn one every time. Granted, every Maximum users have that problem. But Nail was the first and he is the worst case since that's all his strategy was about.
      That's also the reason why he lost all the time btw. Because he is the guy who always has the huge boss monster on the field, and Yu-gi-oh loves comeback victories and underdogs. So he was doomed to fail.

      @@jinkun2629 Honestly, the "instant draw Yggdrago" thing bothered me too. _For anyone else,_ it's irrelevant. But Nail's _entire deck_ is about drawing the pieces he needs from his deck over time, then protecting it. Just giving him it makes a massive chunk of his deck *useless* since Yggdrago eats all three slots.

    1 - why yuga loses many times
    He is a clever character
    He is the protagnist
    He should nt have more than 3 4 loses
    2 - luke winning strike
    Come on ??
    Luke isnt clever like yuga or nail
    Or even cool character like Roa
    At least he should have lost 3 or 5 times in the show
    3 - otes
    The main thing in all yugioh animes
    Is the villan
    Otes wasnt even close to be called a villan
    Since he loses easly
    Even that he used the most iconic yugioh monsters
    Compare to yuga goha who looks more evil and bad
    Otes didnt look like a villan to me at all

      Finished seeing who is the number 1 of the Top and you can easily say that he can beat the strongest Duelists in GO RUSH without many problems.
      Yuamu and Yudias: Easy. One uses a Deck focused on Normal Monsters as a strategy and the other has strategies that play a chess game that the number 1 of SEVENS is immune to.
      Zwijo: Easy. Even if he puts in effort, it would be like the Duel against Roa: he tried his best, but ended up losing. Furthermore, SEVENS's number 1 has the power of Trap Cards in his possession, much better than relying on Equip Spells.
      Phaser: Complicated, but not impossible. The number 1 of SEVENS already demonstrated that he can defeat strong antagonists with Decks that are not his. Yes, Sea Serpent Maximum OP all you want, but SEVENS's number 1 always finds a way to come out victorious (plus he already defeated Maximum Monsters before without needing a Maximum Monster)
      Plus: Yuhi would be defeated in less than three turns considering how inconsistent and weak his Deck is.

      @@brunosanto3488 no hate by any means but saying Luke easily loses to the Go Rush characters is major cap.
      Firstly, Yudias is debatably the strongest duelist in Rush Yugioh. He has a much cleaner record, much akin to previous yugioh protags, with his only L in season 2 being to a literal God-like being. Yudias’ hasn’t focused on normal monsters since the end of S1. In S2, Yudias has acquired powerful equips, powerful Maximums, a Kaiju in Spell form, Heavy Storm to deal with any defensive options and a partly generic fusion monster. Plus a trap for virtually any situation. Its hilarious how much trouble Luke gets in by Yudias just having Oblivion in Def position.
      Yuamu is a respectable duelist, saying that she plays a “chess strategy” that Luke is immune to is ridiculous. Her strategy is simply burn and field nuke and she can do that very well. She ain’t losing unless Luke is resolving 7 Chance
      Zwijo is even more dominating, his deck is literally partly dedicated to a field nuke. Zwijo has proven if your name ain’t Yudias, you’re getting knocked over, especially in S2 when his dueling became more tactical. Luke barely has an answer to Zwijo’ overwhelming dominance.
      And Phaser is the biggest cap of all, Phaser the most busted deck in rush Ygo. His best card is literally a Towers with a field Nuke that Luke has no hope of surviving. Even Phaser’s non-max aces consist of a consistent 4k beatstick with protection and a card that can generating field prescence and even pop cards. Luke has a hard time dealing with Phaser’s tower maximums and an even harder time suriving them
      As for Yuhi, it is hard to say but I do think his deck is consistent enough to give Luke trouble

      Yuga's not even remotely a bad duelist, he actually has a significant amount of dueling skill. A giant chunk of his losses are due to being blindsided or character development by his opponent, he's never lost a duel purely due to incompetence besides maybe the Tiger duel, and given just how much was on his plate at that point and how good a duelist Tiger is, that's hardly fair.

    I never liked Luke. Most of his wins felt like he pulled them out of his ass last second. A lot of his cards are so specific in keeping him alive, and they work every time. Barely any of his wins felt earned, and he was so annoying to watch. I wish he had more losses throughout the show to give him some character development that he so desperately needed.

    • @brunosanto3488
      @brunosanto3488 9 місяців тому

      However....Luke did have Character Development, especially compared to Yuga who didn't have a Character Arc in all of SEVENS.
      Luke went from being a conceited boy who only looked for good for himself to a much more mature person who begins to better value the friends he made along the way: Yuga, Romin and even Yuga Goha when he was Swirly. Likewise, he did not have a good relationship with his older sister and was very afraid of her. Luke began to slowly improve his relationship with his older sister and overcome his fear of her, allowing him to defeat her for the first time after she traumatized him.
      Likewise, Luke was initially reluctant to continue the family legacy. However, in the end, he began to realize that he could not escape being the heir and reconsidered his desires and dreams. At the same time, once he became "King of Duels", Luke began to question what to do now that he already fulfilled one of his main goals: he needs a new objective.

    • @alcatrazvongola
      @alcatrazvongola 9 місяців тому

      @@brunosanto3488I still feel like it would've been more interesting to for Luke to have lost the Battle Royale against Yuga to have him reconsider the King of Duels position or he should've lost to Yuo to let him be the first victim of Fusion and have think about what strength is. It would've helped built up Yuo more as a threat before getting wreaked by the Lukeman. The writers really protected Luke and favored him more than any other character in the show.
      I'd also argue that Yuga did have a character arc which is still going on in Go Rush. Yuga learns to be more proactive and protect the honor of Rush Duels as a whole over letting people turn it into something else. The fact that Rush Duels are being used as a weapon of war and not for fun has gotten to him.
