I love watching an engineer at work. It makes me feel so inadequate. Great music too. It's magic that you consider yourselves already part of the sailing community. Warmer weather on the way, eventually!
loved this one Kathy and Darrol. Darrol was in his element mending the windlass and the other issues. you two are such an inspiration. birthday greetings to you Kathy. hope you both had a fab day.
Hi Darrol/Kathy......we are so proud of you guys, don't give up, and maybe we will join you and Kathy as crew for a short while and make use of marine engineering skills once again!! Happy birthday from Ancilla and me.
As an ex-Capetonian and a sailor, I love watching your videos. Here’s a tip for flag etiquette: it’s not the height of the flag that’s significant, but rather the position. The country flag of your boat’s registration is at the stern, the courtesy flag of the country you are visiting as well as the quarantine (Q) flag are on the starboard shroud and other flags such as those of the crew’s nationalities or club flags, Etc, on the port shroud. Don’t mean to be a know-it-all - I had an altercation with a marinero in Croatia who insisted that the Croatian flag has to be the highest on the boat when the harbour master came by and corrected him. Also, see the RYA recommendations!
Thanks so much for this info. We are learning all the time. Glad you are enjoying the videos. Sorry for this late reply - just spotted your comments now. It's always good to hear from fellow-Saffers!
Lovely video. Thank you for sharing
