There are five horizontal lines, these represent strings. There are numbers on the horizontal lines. The numbers mean on which fret (box thingies on the neck) you should press down the string with your fingers. Then just pluck the string that the number is on and try to follow the rhythm. If the number is 0, it means it's an open string, you just pluck it without pressing down on any fret. Also make sure it's tuned
