      @veronicavansickle4760 Рік тому +7

      Not only does your statement apply to women swimming in the wilds of nature, but also in all other areas of nature, i.e. hunting. The animals in nature can smell a female "in season", even before the actual period begins. So just beware of this fact.

Use your brain and think logical, if something like a shark or dolphin attacks you and you try to defend yourself in water it will be extremely hard to defend yourself than if you were defending yourself on land against a land animal. And if you're in the woods, most people bring guns to protect them from land animals. Land animals will not hurt you because you're on your period! That's idiotic! Unfortunately, they AREN'T left alone by the shark fishing industry. About 100 million are killed each year, partly to feed the demand for shark fin soup in China. It's an unsustainable rate.
      Ocean and other conservationists are trying to change the perception of sharks, clear up their image as "man eating machines" so the public will be more likely to protect endangered sharks and less likely to participate in the chain that destroys sharks.

    People see sharks being docile and “curious” and think it’s all good.. Majority of sharks feed at night and if this was feeding time they wouldn’t just turn away when you guide them with your hand, they’d be actively trying to eat you.

      Nope, that would have attracted many more sharks, even of different species to become attracted to the site with the smell of food, blood etc. They'd get into a feeding frenzy which is extremely dangerous. They'd all be in attack, predatory mode. It would be the end of you to get in there with them.

    This lady I believe is a shark trainer with many years experience I'm sure. The sharks seem curious with her calmness and she gives them a slight redirection, maybe this reassures them she's not a threat or prey

    • @locknesser
      @locknesser Рік тому

      No. It puts them in a tonic trance to deter attack. Thats what touching their snout does. If you notice when she does this they roll their eyes. They do this to protect their eyes from attack. Basically, theyre disorienting the sharks to force them in another direction.

      She's not a "trainer" and would tell you she's a conservationist.
      She's been swimming with sharks since childhood and grew up to earn her bachelor's degree in marine biology and her master's degree in ethology (the study of animal behavior), with a focus on shark behavior.
      Looking towards the shark is a cue that she isn't prey.
