@@bruhism173 The rivalry between the IJA and IJN was intense. They *HATED* each other. The IJA and IJN had separate paratrooper programs, but also had separate air services which didn’t share planes (the IJA never got to touch a Zero, those were Navy aircraft) and also included airfields because the Navy had some land-based aircraft of their own which couldn’t take off from carriers, separate ground infantry which in the Navy’s case basically just means marines, and even *separate naval forces.* I’m not even shitting you, the Imperial Japanese Army had its own small fleet, granted it was mostly made up of transport ships and landing craft, but they were under the direct control of the Army, not the Navy. I'm French and us not being in the game in any significant way (I mean apart from a colonial troops squad in Tunisia the only French in the game are the SS from the Charlemagne division in the Battle of Berlin... Great...) make that hearing the French voice line for a paratrooper squad reaaaaly confusing for few seconds lmao Giving the soldier that was shown at the same time (British paratrooper uniform) they are supposed to come for Normandy but this is such a weird choice... Don't get me wrong I can't wait for us getting more representation in the fame appart from the traitors that join the SS but I'm also pretty found of historical accuracy and as far as I know the only French unit that landed on D-Day was the "n°4 Commando Kieffer" unit indeed attached to the British armed forces and the only ones actually jumping on Normandy were the Americans, where the British came with gliders (I'm saying that from the top of my head, haven't looked into ir for a while). Edit : watched the video to the end and ok my bad it wasn't only linked to the French voice line, my initial thought was maybe something to do with different localisations choices but the number of voice line would be greater. So maybe a French squad incoming, for either the next campaign or a current one. Which would be either Tunisia or Normandy and both woule be quite a odd place tbh. I am still hoping for a Battle of France campaign, or I guess just Battle of France maps and squads given the new progression system. There is only one game off the top of my head that actually portrays the Battle of France, that being Post Scriptum. Most games, and really most media in general, reduce France’s participation in WWII to, “Germany pointed a single rifle at them and the entire military surrendered out of fear, and then the Resistance popped up later and they sabotaged a bunch of stuff,” which is a shame in my opinion. France surrendered very quickly, but that was basically a fluke. Even Germany was expecting it to take much longer and be significantly more difficult. Everyone likes to go, “Well the Maginot Line was a stupid idea and didn’t work,” when in fact it did *exactly* what it was supposed to. The Maginot Line was specifically intended to force Germany to attack through Belgium. France just wasn’t expecting anyone to be able to get armored vehicles through the Ardennes, which led to a massive breakthrough because France was unprepared for tanks to come rushing in. And once the breakthrough happened, they weren’t able to stop it. Also the Free French Forces, who kept fighting throughout the entirety of the war, on both the western and eastern fronts, and who in fact recaptured Paris.
Just in case, someone who dont know, 2nd Parachute Chasseur Regiment is french paratrooper train by Bri ish in ww2, they deploy in Tunisia, we probably see Tunisia French paratrooper vs Italian paratrooper. For British Paratrooper, they will in Normandy or Tunisia

1: The L2D was a license-built version of the DC-3, what the C-47 was developed from, and was a real transport plane that the Japanese Navy had. Fom what I understand they had more L2Ds than any other pattern of transport plane, so it makes sense for them to have it simply because it would have been the most common plane available for paradrops. 2: They already had the model for the C-47, and it’s much easier to just modify an existing model than create a new one.
