Heyyyyy I wanted to ask you, I am a fellow Christian fangirl but I've stayed away from Cassandra Claire's books because of the spiritual stuff in it, like its about demons or something. I do want to read them but I don't because of that. I know you read them, what are your thoughts about them being a Christian?
As someone who is Christian and has read The Mortal Instruments, I'd like to give my two cents. The Mortal Instruments recognizes other religions, but the Shadowhunters have what is essentially their own religion. It doesn't really undermine any religions, and I never really looked into it but it seems as though the Shadowhunter religion nicely coexists with Christianity. If you want to read it then I would, it adds in elements of a new religion but is definitely respectful of all other religions as well.
Thank you this was helpful! I guess I'm mainly wondering if the shadowhunters are the good guys that slay demons which are clearly the bad guys? Because if its like some demons are "good" or something, idk...
The Demons are definitely the bad guys, the shadowhunters fight the demons without a second thought. I mean, there are warlocks who are descended from demons, but they all seem to hate their demon parents anyway.
