One of last week's afternoon, I went to Superstition Mountains to train for my upcoming overnight backpacking trip. I needed to know and feel the actual weight of my backpack. Since it was a short distance, I decided to take Harper with me since I was going to be hiking in, in the afternoon and hiking out on the next day morning so the weather is cooler. I arrived at the trailhead a little later than what I would like it to be so I hurry up and started walking before the sunset. We made it to our camping spot exactly while the sun is setting and it was a beautiful event to watch. Before the darkness swallow the whole place, I started to pitch our tent. A little later, I saw Harper dropped on the floor with two front legs behind her ears and shaking. I was so worried she got bitten by something poisonous on how the way she acted. She calmed down after I hugged her for a little bit. I put her down again and continued setting up the tent. She started shaking again! It was then when I realized that she was terrified of the sound of the tarp. So I was hugging her the whole time while I was trying to finish the tent. The rest of the night was terrible for me and her. I am glad that she was able to sleep for 3 straight hours before the wind started to blow softly outside and the tent made that noise that she was so scared about. I was just about to sleep when she started walking around and not settling. It was just a few hours before sunrise and we are still wide awake, so I thought to put her inside the sleeping bag and keep her there. She calmed down and finally settled. We both finally got sleep! A couple of hours and the wilderness was lit by daylight. All my exhaustion was swept away when I saw the Weaver's Needle bathed in sunrise! It was a beautiful morning.

The morning light at that campsite really was amazing.
So beautiful 😍 🤩
beautiful! Love the rock formations and the sunset!
There are so many beautiful rock formations in this area! Let me know when you guys decided to visit the Superstition Mountains 😊
@@sunkissedmary Definitely! Also, let us know if you venture into the Durango, CO area. Maybe plan a trip for the fall- the colors here are mind-blowing.
@@ClarityOffGrid that's a great idea! I wanted to plan a trip back to Ouray for fall. What month is the best time to see autumn in that area?
Hi Mary and Harper. What a nice hike. She'll get used to the tent and other camping sounds.
That's what I was thinking about, too! Hopefully, she'll remember this trip on our second one so she knows that I'm there for her
Thank you, that's a great hike, and your camping spot is beautiful. Not for from there you can see spring-fed cattails growing in July.
It is definitely beautiful 😍 I'm glad you enjoyed it 😊
Awesome video , Harper was quite the little Trooper to do that Hike too bad she was scared of the sounds of the tarp glad you got her to settle. The views were awesome thanks for letting us come along on your journey. Hope you have an awesome week
I think if I take her more often, she will realize that there's nothing to be scared of. It was the same thing when I took her with me in the van for the very first time. She peed on the bed 😅 but now she's very comfortable in the van wherever we go. Thank you, and have a nice week as well!
@@sunkissedmary yeah definitely need her to get familiar with things in her surroundings, you don't want her peeing in your bed lol.

Salamat po ☺️ 😊
💞Wow💙💙💙🧡🧡💙🧡🧡🧡
Such a fun hike! What camera did you use?
Indeed, it was! I used the insta360 4x. It was a fun tool to utilize and edit. It makes solo adventure filming easier!
