I remember when I was a kid, I was such a big fan of Meta Knight. And sometimes when I think about it, I think to myself "Haha I was such a cringy kid, almost having a crush on a blueberry bat swordman thing." But this video reminds me of why I liked him so much. I really need to watch this show again
Meta knight is a good person. He normally doesn't help people. He really tells them some tip or what to do then let them do it there self. He always fights for justice and love. He is always saying things that are right and speaks the truth. He leaps Kirby but makes things do it for himself when he's in a situation he can care for himself. He's always watching over the kids. Even when there not around. This is why I have a huge crush on meta knight.
I love how Meta just sparta kicks the tank down all while saying "I am His Majesty's faithful servant!". Also, how the hell does Meta Knight always know where Fumu, Bun, and Kirby are?

He has the looks of the cliche dark edgelord, yet couldn’t be more different from the trope. He cares deeply for those around him, so deeply that even a disciplined knight like him lets that care consume him the same way others let hate or vengeance consume them. He trains to be the strongest, yet he still pushes Kirby and his friends to limits that outclass his own.
Wow. The translation made that first scene WAY different! I didn't know he was originally unleashing his angry words at them! In English he's just like "It pains me to do this sire." Pretending he felt bad about it! Why can't they ever translate things right?
I know this is two years old, but the lines are at times different due to a few reasons. And this isn't exclusively about 4Kids either (which is infamous for heavy censorships, Crash Town in Yugioh 5Ds being an example), this goes for all dubs. The Japanese language as a whole is filled with different dialects and slang, making it almost impossible to use direct translations most of the time. If direct translations were used, the dialogue would make little to no sense or be filled with grammatical errors in English. A friend, who is fluent in Japanese and has gone to Japan many times, struggled with translating Yoh's and Amidamaru's dialogue in Shaman King, strictly because of the dialects. Lip flaps and general timing is another factor. The lines have to be able to fit the lip flaps (or get as close as they possibly can), otherwise we get scenarios like in Sonic 06 where characters are either not moving their mouths despite hearing them talk, or their lips keep flapping and nothing's coming out. Characters without mouths, such as Meta Knight, have the advantage of not having lip flaps to worry about, but the lines still have to fit within a certain time frame. Sometimes, they can get lucky and are able to get the exact same line in, other times not so much.
It's just too bad Dedede sounds like an old man in Japanese, his English voice is so iconic. Otherwise I would've loved the sub version... Meta Knight's voice is so good and even Kirby talks sometimes, can't remember him ever doing that in the dub

That Bun and MK moment really touched my heart. 1:46 And so did the Kaabii and MK moment 3:07 The Fumu and MK one at 2:25 K all three of the moments touched my heart. Meta Knight is a huge role model to them, I swear.
It was Kirby's one year anniversary since he first landed, and the villagers were preparing a surprise for him. So when Kirby wants someone to play with, they all say no and he gets the feeling that he's not wanted anymore.

I know. It's a pity that the first version I saw was the dubbed one, so I kinda decided that I hated that show. Then on one of my trips to Japan, I saw the fireworks episode and decided to give the original version a try. Now I love it!
Meta Knight also saved Sword and Blade's lives ages ago, in the aftermath of the war between the Star Warriors and Nightmare. (One of Nightmare's surviving monsters heard/spotted the group and came over to attack.) He had no reason to save them - they were bandits and had just tried to rob him. But he did anyway. Which is why Sword and Blade are so devotedly loyal to Meta Knight in the anime.

As someone who prefers the dub because I just love stupid puns and cheesy moments, the first moment is miles better in the sub as Meta Knight still plays up the loyal servant thing to justify making them roll back down while the dub just has him do it with no explanation. He apologizes for it, but there’s just the hilarious “It pains me to do this sire” line. I still like it and get a laugh, but in terms of characterization, the original definitely did it better.
I believe that this has something to do with the entirety of the show. It's common knowledge that Fumu is a complete know-it-all, while everyone else is usually clueless as to what's going on, aside from Sir Meta Knight, of course. Though it's true Sir Meta Knight is a valorous swordsman, it would seem to me that he believes Fumu is capable of doing a better job dealing with... Whatever's happening. I haven't seen that episode, though, so I'm not sure.
I don't think he's cold, he just wants Kirby to be able to do things without help. And Fumu's a brat who needs to stop acting like it's Meta Knight's job to fix everything.
