Clever idea. I've used a simple taught line hitch, but your system keeps the hands away from the flames. . .nice. The only addition I could offer would be to use a marlin spike hitch on the toggle so you don't have to worry about dropping the toggle into the fire. Cheers!
Another idea is to use the Voodoo hitch aka transport hitch - perfect if you need to make small adjustments in the height, like raising a coffee pot off the fire but keep it warm

Use a triangle stick on top of the main three sticks and for multiple pots add another stick by lashing the stick to two of the main tripod sticks
Maybe an italian hitch on the top carabiner could be worth a try. Just for fun.
