This was a really nice video. It had gorgeous locations and the reenacts looked really sharp. That said, I just can't get behind the Lost Cause talking points. Maybe Louisiana didn't explicitly mention slavery in its 3-paragraph secession ordinance, but most rebel states absolutely did, including Jeff Davis' home state of Mississippi. It was so important to the rebel leaders that they wrote it down for posterity, back when they thought they would win, and only later spent decades denying and explaining away what they'd done.

Four states in their docs say they are leaving because the Yankees are invading. After secession, there need not have been a war., so why war ? Lincoln maneuvered events at Sumter to obtain the desired result- he celebrated the next day after the loss of his fort. So why war? Unionism was about money and power.

I believe Virginia was one of those 4 states. Therefore, sir, would you kindly remind me of the speech that Mr. Stephens delivered at the Virginia secession convention? Something mentioning what their republic is entirely founded on....

The record shows that one ironclad, the Missourim, was built here. One ship.
May I ask where you got the figure of 31 ironclad or tin clads ??
One existing ship, the CSS Webb, was modified here. It was a ship buillt in NYC. In Shreveport the CSS Webb seems to have modified as a cottonclad ram.
