We like to use our pump all the time. It keeps our tank water cycling and fresh. It also evens out the water pressure when the park is a bit lower. Last, by filling your fresh tank 3/4 full while you are in the park, you have water if it needs to be shut off unannounced.
I learned years ago while in the military the importance of maintaining and even though I’m a master auto technician if we don’t check while we are on the road Nice job Sir I enjoy your channel
I turn on my water pump and it makes a loud thumping noise what does a water pump sound ? I hear this and that but do not learn what to do and what I should be hearing
Just saw you washing your slide out mechanism with soapy water. I’ve Never seen anyone suggest this . I have the same kind as you , they have “teeth”. So can I use Dawn to wash them and then spray dry lube ? Thanks
Definitely wash them and afterwards spray with Boeshield T-9 to prevent rust. This stuff is amazing, plus it’s a dry lube. I will say some RV techs say you don’t need to “dry lube” the teeth part, that it’s made for metal on metal but it’s good to spray with the Boeshield to prevent the corrosion on them. 👍🏼
Chris love your videos and your logical approach to troubleshooting too. Thanks for the tips and I do them on every trip too! But it is good to hear them over and over again to ensure I'm doing them correctly. When I perform my walk-around at every stop (gas stop, rest stop and/or puppy breaks) I check those tires with a thermal gun to ensure those hubs aren't getting too hot. My TPMS shows temperature/pressure, but I started this habit 6 years ago and don't want to stop. I took the NRVTA Online Fundamental Course and learned so much about the RV. I haven't yet had to call out a Mobile Tech and it has saved me thousands of dollars doing it myself as well as learning from your great videos too.
Thanks 😊 I have like ten of these! All bought from different places. When I see one that fits I just buy it. Never got one online. Appreciate you watching 👍🏼
Lots of good info here. And todays awnings aren't even made for slight breezes. I can't tell you the last time we've used our awnings...it's like it's a waste of space and weight on a camper now a days.
What’s your opinion on awnings being left out a foot or 18 inches? I understand not leaving out all the way and not being around but if they are left out this small amount, are they strong enough to withstand wind gust.
On real windy days when we still want some shade on the RV windows we will put the awnings out a foot or two. It seems to hold up well. But that’s still only while we are at home. If we leave it overnight we still put them in because why not. Just not worth taking the chance for us. 👍🏼 Appreciate you watching.

Thanks Steve, appreciate that! It’s a great course for sure. Thermal gun is a great idea, can never be too safe. Thanks for the comment 👍🏼👍🏼
I took the on line class and I went to the NRVTA. Great stuff!
Awesome! I’m going out the NRVTA in November. Looking forward to it!
Thanks for the tips. Like your drivers cap, where did you get it?
Thanks 😊

Such great tips as always!
See you guys in Hershey this year?

I’m sure that there’s a lot of great info in these courses
Hey Captn’…Yeah I wish I had this info years ago! Electrical is not might thing and this has really taught me a lot. Stay safe on those waters 👍🏼

I’m telling you what! We winter in Texas and down there we can never put them out because of the wind.

Did you do a video on RV bearings? Maintenance, troubleshoot, service, what to look for?
Yes I have a bearings video. Here’s the link.

@@WhyWait appreciate it. Thanks
Yep awning… was at Nashville shores, n next door neighbor left awning out, 2 hrs later… a loud bang, his awning was just hanging there….
Yikes. Crazy but we still see it all the time too. Sometimes you gotta learn the hard way.

Question: can you "exercise" your water pump while hooked up to city water, or you you have to use the fresh water tank to accomplish this. I'm not sure how the lines are interrelated. Thanks.
You would have to shut the city water off then switch to dry camp mode/pump mode and run water from your fresh water holding tank using the pump. 👍🏼
Hehehe Yes, most of the time when we travel, it’s very hard to remember to check out the rig. Sit back time and relax.
First thing I did was drop the suspension and replace it all.
Same here, morryde all the way.
Mine is a little beyond cleaning, I’m sanding and repainting! lol
