nobody gonna talk about how she said "2007 Hairspray movie starring: John T, Christopher W., and Zac Efron" like the real star isn't Nikki Blonsky? the voice on that girl is incredible
in the heights could’ve been higher tho, but so glad most disney musicals werent on this list. plus next to normal is wayyyy more groundbreaking than billy eliott (beat ntn for best musical), so im so glad it was deatured while billy was just a mention
I will always be convinced that the composers of “Frozen” were thinking of “Defying Gravity” when they wrote “Let It Go.” They even admitted they had Idina Menzel in mind when they were working on it. “I’m through accepting limits, ‘cause someone said they’re so. Some things I cannot change, but ‘till I try I never know!” “It’s time to see what I can do, to test the limits and break through!” Both are among my favorite songs of all time.
They're obviously disqualified from this list, but I do think A Very Potter Musical is better than some of the musicals on this list, like Mamma Mia! and Jersey Boys.
FACT: Avenue Q closed June of 2019. A show to be on broadway for over 15 years is astounding. Yeah. Wicked sells more, wicked has Belting and all, but at its core, it is good, but very “Broadway”. Avenue Q is hilarious, a spoof, and that doesn’t do too well normally, but in this instance it is amazing
Too bad "The Producers" wasn't number 1. I was so very fortunate to have a once in a lifetime experience of being in the chorus of it via one of my city's amateur theatre companies. One of the best memories I'll take to my grave is being the stage left tank in the "Springtime for Hitler" production number. It's my all time fave musicals. Mel Brooks, you are a GENIUS!
Yippee, I absolutely love "Hairspray", and Tracy is a lovable, charismatic heroine. You can't go wrong with a bit of "Wicked" or "Legally Blonde" either!😍
Audrey Harrington I saw the show nine years ago a few days before Xmas in LA. Alice Ripley was kicking off the show’s national tour. N2N has the most emotionally energetic score I’ve heard in a musical tied with Rent and Dear Evan Hansen combined
Showing off my Broadway street cred: I saw Wicked four months after it came out with the entire original cast. Kristin Chenowith was in a neck brace for some reason, and I developed an obsession with Idina Menzel that lasted for years.
Wicked is so amazing! It's my favorite Broadway show, I'm on a phone with a Wicked phone case and home screen. My dream role is Elphie, and I did a duet with one of my best friends in For Good. I haven't really gone deep into Broadway yet, I was in the mindset that I wouldnt listen to the soundtrack until I saw the show so I didn't listen to many, but then I realized I can't afford that so I've started listening to new musicals. They're all amazing, but Wicked still has a special place in my heart for being probably the most memorable day of my life
THANK YOU! I can accept n2n not getting the number one spot on this list -- it didn't have the commercial success of Wicked or Hairspray -- but finishing behind that trash heap hurts.
i’m just gonna day it- no version of wicked is as good as the one with Idena Menzel and Kristen Chenowith. ALSO all shook up should’ve been on here. like seriously.
Hairspray will always have a very special place in my heart as it was the first musical that I saw in London 10 years ago and it completely introduced me to musicals. Wicked and legally blonde are also in that special place in my heart and Billy elliot was the first time that I felt completely in awe with the amazing talent that kids can have. Also Avenue q came in to my life just before my dad was diagnosed with a brain tumour so brought that humour that I needed so much at that point in my life.... Top notch list
Oh thank goodness, you put Spring Awakening up. I kinda expected it to get left off, because while it's amazing it was underappreciated at the time, and that means it didn't make, like, Rent or Wicked money,
Ive seen Legally Blonde on MTV, In the Heights, Jersey Boys, Next to Normal, Mamma Mia, Hairspray, Billy Elliot and Wicked. But Memphis should be at least an honorable mention!
My theater group did Legally Blond and Mamma Mia. I just can’t get there songs out of my head. Like Blood in the Water or Waterloo. Also my senior year at my Choir sang For Good at my graduation.
For me Next to Normal is clearly number 1. It was a 6 person cast with low-key sets singing about depression and relatable family issues. Nothing about says successful musical, and yet it won a Pulitzer Prize! I love the music and the content moves me every time. Obviously, it did not have the commercial success that the ones above it had which was weighed into this ranking, but personally, Next to Normal is top 3 all time for me
My favorite 2000s musicals 1. Wicked 2. Legally Blonde 3.Jersey Boys 4.Mamma Mia 5.The Producers 6. Hairspray 7. 25th Annual Putnam Spelling Bee 8. The Color Purple 9. Mary Poppins
Fingers Crossed Memphis the Musical is on this list If not IT SHOULD BE!!! My Favorite Musical Of 2009!!! And It Won 2010’s Tony Award For Best Musical Come On MsMojo Show It Some Love!!! 😊
Thank y'all so much for including Next to Normal. That show will be my favorite until the day I die! If I come back as a ghost or hallucination, it will remain my fave. 🥰
Legally Blonde, Jersey Boys, Avenue Q, Next to Normal, Mamma Mia!, The Producers, Hairspray, The Light in the Piazza, Mary Poppins, The Color Purple, and Wicked are the best
My favourite musical of all time is Hairspray. In my theatre group, I'm currently rehearsing Jesus Christ SuperStar and loving every minute of it! I can't wait for the performances
we did Mama Mia for our high school musical my senior year and we got Beauty and the Beast the same year the live adaptation was released, it was magical.
I agree with a lot of these, but The Color Purple not even getting a spot on the top 10 list? That's insane, especially when you've put the disaster that was the Mamma Mia stage musical above it.
Oh heck yeah for the #1. I’m glad audience proved to critics that Wicked was deserving of its accolades and box office records. Meanwhile Jersey Boys, Mamma Mia and The Production, are stellar hits in their own rights!
I would have to politely disagree, whilst spectacular to behold, the writing and soundtrack aren't the strongest when you compare them to others like Hamilton, Les Miserables and West Side Story, I actually found Wicked a bit dull overall, in spite of the impressive visuals and vocal performances.
Faveorite Greatest Musicals of 2000’s These 5 musicals I have always loved the most and helped shaped who I am today!! Wicked Hairspray High School Musical Legally Blonde mamma Mia
Excuse me?!? Billy Elliot is one of the most successful musicals ever, 10 Tony awards from 15 nominations, 10 Drama Desk awards from 10 nominations, yet it's relegated to the fucking HONOURABLE MENTIONS?!?!? And on top of that Next to Normal is at number FIVE?!? And I know MsMojo has a massive hard on for Wicked, but I really don't think it deserved the top spot, yes it's experienced longevity and continued success, but in terms of critical acclaim it paled in comparison with some others on this list! Come on MsMojo, get it together!
I love All Shook Up!!! I was in it for my senior year in high school production of the show!!! I love hello dolly as well and how to succeed in business even tho those are older ones
Thoroughly Modern Millie, 6 Tonys out of 11 nominations, launched the biggest star of the decade, arguably one of the greatest of a generation, not even an honorable mention...
I don't care if your 18 , 25 , 30 , 40, 50, 60, 100 .... You just gotta love Frankie Valli. His voice is amazing. I just can't imagine anyone hearing My Eyes Adore You For the first time and not being amazed.

@@brunabruneti1063Same
I love broadway, it makes you want to forget about the world.
Chelsea Canales true :)
Having a bad day? Just gotta put on that Spotify playlist so freaking calming for me
except next to normal makes you take in the horror of the world
in the heights could’ve been higher tho, but so glad most disney musicals werent on this list. plus next to normal is wayyyy more groundbreaking than billy eliott (beat ntn for best musical), so im so glad it was deatured while billy was just a mention

Both are among my favorite songs of all time.
It’s definitely her defying gravity haha
Finally Legally Blonde gets on a list! And yes Next to Normal, Hairspray, Mama Mia, and of course Wicked! Ms Mojo you did not disappoint this time.
They disappointed me by not including The Drowsy Chaperone.
Yesssss Mamma Mia!!
I see Elphie, I click
Me too, you can't go wrong with Idina or Kristen!💚
My cat is called Elphie :')
Literally me
Same
Same!
When Legally Blonde is talked about and Christian Borle isn't mentioned or shown on the screen 😭😣😢😝😖😲😵😡😠😳😨😱
that should be a crime I'm calling my lawyer Emmett Forrest
My idol didn’t make it a.k.a Christian Borle😭😭
Wicked is so amazing. Defying Gravity left me speechless. I would love to go again one day.
H McC I saw the show with Eden Espinosa and Megan Hilty as Elphaba & Glinda in 2007. Hopefully i will see it again someday too
Manuel Orozco That’s really cool! I saw it last June! The playbill is hanging on my wall :)
H McC Thanks. Who played Elphaba and Glinda when you went?
H McC By the way Defying Gravity was the first in a long line of amazing Act One finales I’ve ever seen
Manuel Orozco
Elphaba was played by Hannah Corneau
And Glinda was played by Ginna Claire Mason
Ahhhhh Spring awakening 🥺🥺💜💜
Lea Michele and Jonathan Groff 💜
A Very Potter Musical?
Hello?
Anyone?!
Starkid Musicals are amazing!
Agreed, but they’re not “broadway” shows
They're obviously disqualified from this list, but I do think A Very Potter Musical is better than some of the musicals on this list, like Mamma Mia! and Jersey Boys.

My favorite show!
Audrey Harrington I saw the show nine years ago a few days before Xmas in LA. Alice Ripley was kicking off the show’s national tour. N2N has the most emotionally energetic score I’ve heard in a musical tied with Rent and Dear Evan Hansen combined
“So Happy I could melt” hmmm wonder what what thaaaaat could mean???
Lol, I used to joke that you don't need the water to melt The Wicked Witch of the West you need to make her happy to melt! XD
Showing off my Broadway street cred: I saw Wicked four months after it came out with the entire original cast. Kristin Chenowith was in a neck brace for some reason, and I developed an obsession with Idina Menzel that lasted for years.
2000s musicals hit different than 2010s musicals i said what i said
they really do
I've done pit orchestra for a small theater production of Light in the Piazza. What a gorgeous show. Made me cry every night of the run.
Thoroughly Modern Millie didn't even get an Honourable Mention?!?!?!
I know, right?! It made Sutton Foster a star!
It’s really terrible though, and also super sexist and racist.
I performed that at my school last year...
Alright imma say it. Msmojo is biased toward Wicked
I know right lol
So is literally everyone who was a theater kid in the 2000's.
Aren’t we all? 😂
and Little Shop of Horrors
They’re more biased to Wicked because it’s the most known broadway musical that came out in recent memory, so they can attract the most clicks.
Fucking ADORE Spring Awakening, my favorite musical❤️❤️❤️
And I cant listen to Next to Normal without crying😭😭😭
FabulousKilljoy917 i love spring awakening too!
I can't tell you how excited I was when you added In The Heights
Also, I love all these Musicals ahhh
Omg.. I’m korean boy! 🇰🇷🇰🇷🇰🇷

Good luck with English!

The fact that you put Mamma Mia on a list of greatest anything but ESPECIALLY above Next to Normal, should be grounds for arrest
Jarrett Self mamma Mia is the best thing I’ve ever seen!
Mamma Mia shouldn’t count cos it technically premiered in the 90s (in the West End)
THANK YOU! I can accept n2n not getting the number one spot on this list -- it didn't have the commercial success of Wicked or Hairspray -- but finishing behind that trash heap hurts.
I love Next to Normal, one of my dream roles is Diana
@@rutengvalmelander9139 you should see more things
i’m just gonna day it- no version of wicked is as good as the one with Idena Menzel and Kristen Chenowith.

ik it’s not broadway but Ms Mojo always sleeping on A Very Potter Musical
BUT SHREK THE MUSICAL?!
The way I decide which UA-cam videos I want to watch it simple:
I see Idina, I click
Nothing about Spamalot other than that small clip
Ok no, Billy Elliot 100% deserved to make the list, it's one of the few musicals I've actually seen (on the west end) and it was amazing
Awww Spring Awakenings, freaking love Jonathan Groff
Hairspray will always have a very special place in my heart as it was the first musical that I saw in London 10 years ago and it completely introduced me to musicals. Wicked is absolutely an amazing show!!!!
I’m surprised Throughly Modern Millie didn’t make this list!
Millie was originally a movie musical
@@thebraxtonater8466 So was Hairspray
It came out in the 90’s and this is only covering the 200’s which could be why
@@acourtofthornsandalexandri8622 broadway opening was 2002
I can't believe you disrespected Skylar Astin just like that
Oh my god I thought the same!
Oh thank goodness, you put Spring Awakening up. I kinda expected it to get left off, because while it's amazing it was underappreciated at the time, and that means it didn't make, like, Rent or Wicked money,
TBF I forgot it got that many Tonys.
I love in the heights !!!! My favorite is mama Mia!!! My mom introduced me to it when I was younger.
I fell in love with Broadway because of Wicked. :D
Dave Clarion Daing Me too partially
Hey. I've waited for this list.
Keep the Broadway coming!!!💚
